I just started building on the most insane gaming table for Warhammer, dungeons and dragons and Mordheim i could think of. It's going to be a big project, take many months but i'm all here for it. Once the manta is done, this will Definitely be one of the main projects on the channel because i'm so excited for it!

I promise, there's many videos of the manta on the way, i've just been on vacation and we just got back to putting in the finishing touches on two of these videos! Be prepared in the coming few weeks for some sweet videos :D

I was starting to be afraid the Manta got broken beyond repair and that you were stuck at the first stage of grief and all those new projects were just a way to cope with the accident (don’t get me wrong, they are all cool but going from bi-weekly news on the Manta to none at all was worrying). Anyway glad to see everything’s fine on your side and can’t wait to see the Manta diorama again😁

I can’t wait. And honestly I didn’t mind that there hasn’t been a manta video. Normally with big projects it’s good to take a break and with how big the manta project is, a break is needed at least once in a while.

For your underground, how about some slide out drawers with their own open top sewer tunnel systems; Dungeon & Dragon style? Entrances and exits mirror what is above ground.

A really cool sewer you could do is an L shape, from the side that connects to the river. And remove the top section of foam, then put either a hinge or clip system on it so you can remove the top of the sewer when playing and moving the minis, but then reset it for the atmosphere when they are being used. That way you can still use the top of that sewer as a ground for the area above.

I think you could add some lights to the entire build. Some single LED lights would slightly light up in windows or lamp posts. That would elevate everything to the unseen level.

It would be great if a whole street of houses could be lifted off the reveal a playable sewer underneath. Love the idea of a layered table where each layer is playable.

I love the idea of adding sewers, it would be so cool if they ran along the sides of the table, with the sewer mouths at the river allowing you to enter them and then flank all the way behind your enemy

looks great so far! I can't wait to see more! Random idea for adding sewers but keeping it playable. A big sink hole where the city collapsed into the sewers. Then it would be sewer terrain down there, but still open top so you could reach the minis to move them around, and there is a story to how you got there and why its open that fits the theme.

Awesome video and new series, my best memories of warhammer are making dioramas with my cousins for the competitions in our local shop. Maybe make that angel mini from the sponsor a statue, one idea is to make the central bridge out of stone stone and curved so that you can make a circle/plaza in the middle with the statue in the center, might not fit though. but i feel like a central battle field would be cool , there is very little Close Combat space so a big bridge could help. Also for the tunnels idea, definitively make tunnels into the sewers s you can have some underground skirmishes, also it serves to hide units from your oponent or take cover maybe a way to go underground from one side to the other would be nice, although hard to keep it secret (maybe you can say it takes 4 turns to cross the whole thing and you dont actually move the figures unless the other person is there (GM would need to know and you would need to be able to tell him without alerting the other) as well so that it can be a suprise attack), maybe too many levels and too symmetrical, but the idea is great, PD Id make it bigger :P more space bigger armies is how we play in my house :p

ive just started getting into scenery more seriously, the TTCombat mdf kits is a Perfect place to start easy to build, easy to modify, really cheap and already has themes for both scifi, fantasy and real world wargames

maybe some aged and dead nature or large trees smashed into a few houses from weathering or storms over the years. Could possiblly be some fun ways to also navigate and move through the levels and roofs!

Hi Emil (first of all sorry for my bad english) super great project, more of it please, it's a huge inspiration for me, thank you very much I'm currently planning a similar project, an old decrepit port city for Mordheim, FreebootersFate and Frostgrave ... I've thought about WarhammerFantasy, because fighting with regiments in narrow streets and alleys doesn't make much sense to me, I prefer big field and meadow battles. for the city I will mainly use 3D prints, I got the kickstarters from ANCRABOURG and LEICHHEIM especially for this, the designers from 3dlayeredscenery make really nice models there For the area under the slab, if you know exactly where which building is supposed to go later, you could, for example, build a vaulted cellar (wine cellar, or a torture chamber, or a crypt with a few Dracula coffins, or an altar where cultists secretly go to their praying to false gods) and then in between sewers with drainpipes that could be used, for example, as secret escape tunnels ... I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how the project goes on...thumbs up Greetings from Germany Daniel

A full high quiality Mordheim table is like my childhood dream... Im really looking forward on this project, it already looks cool as hell, and as a Diablo fan, the reference of Westmarch is great to build this kind of scenery... I'm preparing a new witch hunter band with the new and latest releases from GW... maybe someday they can hunt some heretics on that streets! Keep up the good and inspiring work mate!

Shadeglass reminds me of Flect, a highly addictive drug that comes in the shape of broken glass. Flect first appeared in the Ravenor series of 40K novels back in 2005.

This is cool, I really hope the middle of the map isnt bare though. I think that it might be better with 2 canals with anothe rrow of stuff in the middle, and at least 2 non-bridge crossing options. By having docks and just 1 bridge, you wind up with this massive kill zone that the entire map can fire into, so crossing is very limited. Also, it makes that insane height variation seen in the stacked foam, which will stop the streets from having that cluttered, dense feel they're looking for. It'll just be a couple of layers of buildings per tier of the table, which will result in too much openness, IMO. I think it'd benefit from some more noisy height variation and slightly less y axis total variation. Just my two cents. I'm also not sure about the roof colour, it's too dark to be copper or stone. Over all, really looking forward to seeing the finished product though. Hopefully they iron out the kinks.

Dude you just made Balmora No but really!! I hope you see this in time, but if you really want to do ropes and such reaching across the city, just use magnets!! Glue one end of a string to a building, and use a magnet on the other end to attach it to another building! That way you can take the string off if you need the fidelity

this will be awesome, I am looking forward to the final (and many intermediate) grand reveals. You could also take a look at the city and environment from the Game Dishonored as well as the (underground) world of the netflix series Arcane. Both could be full of great inspirations for this table since they fit the theme

🤔 could figure out a claw device to help move miniatures from a distance. Or maybe a shuffle board cue lined in felt, rubber, or something soft. A pick up and reach tool that caretakers use for parks, gardens, trash on sidewalks, etc., could also be a solution. They can have rubber circular pads made out of rubber to grab onto a mini and move it in place.

That is one epic build you are taking on! The houses look great! Love the affects you added to the windows. If I may make recommendations - you mentioned adding sewers; have you seen the work by Nat1 Videos and Zane Morgan? They have some sewers that are amazing. They added sound, lights and fog.

The colours look epic! About the table: I see many gaming tables which are quite geometric in set-up (e.g. squares), but many medieval cities are anything but that. Maybe angle the river through the table or have a curve in it, with some wonky streets. Maybe it's a nice idea, maybe it's not your thing. Good luck!

It's going to look great but I feel a big river in the middle takes away gaming space in prime gaming real estate. I think a series of narrower canals on the periphery would have a great look and not place too much tactical importance on their bridges. Might make sewer play more difficult - unless you could lift up the ground level and play underneath? That would also be cool. Look forward to seeing more of it.

totally agree with you. Would rather like to see a townsquare taking up center stage or something. And smaller canals instead of a big river with bridges would improve esthetics and gameplay.
