Decades ago I had a friend who sold some hot knives on ebay and he let them go for like 50% below retail. I can't think of any other reason why these would be under retail.
I think with inflation even people in the knife community are realizing for the most part knives are too expensive. As a knifeaholic I speak from experience. The hype, much from RU-vid, is a double edge sword, (no pun intended), both creating innovation, but increasing prices. Supply and demand at work. Cold Steel historically had affordable pricing, we’ll see what the future holds.
Excellent deal. I was able to score one of the black version #65. From Cold Steel website with 30% discount for $279 shipped. It arrived yesterday. My favorite of the new Cold Steel so far.
Calculated Survival covered both of these versions months ago on his channel. I believe there were 1000 of the titanium available, and somewhere between 50-300 of the black available.
@@jimmymckay73That is the effect of perspective - things that are further away look smaller. The camera angle is not looking straight down at the table but is at an angle so perspective comes into play. It’s not as exaggerated here but it’s the same effect that makes someone standing close to you look bigger than someone that is far away.
I have a nice knifes collection. It's fun to own ultra premium material and ultra premium steel. But if tomorrow will be Apocalypse the knifes I would grab would be my Cold steel. By . . . Zfar😅
You definitely got someone smiling on you my man. Just hope the lunatics don’t go off like firecrackers in the comments as there always seems to be one or fifty people that love to put the verbal boot in for some unknown reason 😂 stay safe and healthy 🫵🏻😘👍🏼
I recently perchased a vintage Cold steel 5 inch Vaquero off of Etsy. It came mint, in box with the nylon belt pouch. (No pocke clip) It was from a curio shop in Indiana. I carry it to Church on Sundays.
I was on Ebay looking for the Ti AD10 the other day and didn't see anything. Congrats on the awesome grab. Cold Steel had some of the black Ti on the site the other day for full price. Wanted a raw but might order a black if I can find a deal.
Thanks for the quick response! I hope that my comment didn't come across as rude, or snotty.... I just remember a time, not long ago, when I would have been absolutely devastated to have missed out on a special knife. Years go by, things change and you learn about what can and can't be taken away from you, and it was just refreshing to realize that missing out on a super exclusive knife, isn't really a big deal. So again, thanks for the third person view, on perspective.
@@jeepnicc Not at all. I totally feel you, I think I'm headed there myself. I'm starting to realize the only way for me to get ahead in this KnifeTube Gane is to just stop and cut my losses.
The sale price was 275, after shipping and tax it was around 295. I would have posted the link in the video but they were all sold out by the time I got the video up
I thought the black Ti version had horizontal polish on the primary bevel (vertical only on the swedge)? This one looks similar to the normal polish directions..
Yes. those appeared after I had shot this. I should have uploaded earlier I have had this one for a while. Cold Steels IG video said 130 which was the info I was going off of when I shot this
@@edged_mindset I was just putting it out there in case anyone was interested. I want one but I recently bought an AD20s and I swore to my wife I would pace myself. If it had been an AD15 with titanium scales and 3V I would have jumped on it and asked for forgiveness.
You convince me to order 1. Cold Steels actual website has some of the black Ti instock. Signed up for text deals and got a 10% off. So got it for $360 and I'm not mad at it. Not as good as your deal but I have one ordered. Looked all over for the Ebay 1 but didn't see anything. I already have 2 normal AD10's so will probably just put this limited edition up.
Nice! Can't wait to hear what you think! I didn't post the eBay link because I checked yesterday and they were gone. I should have posted this video earlier, I dropped the ball.
@edged_mindset I was on Ebay the day before yesterday scrolling for the raw Ti. Did a search of cold steel Demko Ti AD10 and figured one of those key words would find something. I never even seen anything but regular AD10 and never seen a post without a pic. They might have been gone even before that. I have a nice little CS and Demko collection going. Have the 4max elite,AD20 ffg Ti 3v, AD10 drop point and tanto,AD15 and now the limited. Maybe I will come across a raw Ti eventually.
That was the scary part. I could se him having them and listing them before he should, but why they would be below retail os crazy. I can only think he didn't fully understand they were limited
there is not a single thing in our society thats not over priced , every knife that you buy is over priced it only matters if thjet knife makes him happy which he pretty much said in this video your comment just displays ignorance and an inability to understand that it makes him happy
Yeah only thing is, you think you have something special like this and they turn around and make a production run. I bought the original purple militaw and i have number 225 of 500 and now it's not so limited because kizer screwed us first runners and made it standard production.
PVD is a type of coating commonly used in knives. It reasonably rough but not the very best. Ti is refering to the handles being made of titanium on this model
