Not a knock on your farm or your maintenance love the vids When we go thru our spud equipment everything gets tore down we remove all bearings feel for rough spots then we needle all the bearings before they go back into the housings my last digger was twenty years old a four row double l I had one u joint go bad in the field and a center bearing on the primary which was a new bearing all the outer bearings were twenty years old, plus it’s a safety issue ya tend to hurt yourself when you’re under pressure and in a hurry As I said I’m not knocking ya I think you guys run pretty clean

I hope Shane knows you’re a keeper!! Had a silent chuckle to myself when I saw Shane with gloves on and Molly bare handed. My puller like that says not to use impact on it. I guess use impact in moderation. Good job working together.

No strong enough means you haven’t figured out how to apply enough thought to accomplish your goal. It’s all about physics.😉
@CGT80
@CGT80 6 месяцев назад
@@jeffreyshier9021 Yes, there are some things I am just not strong enough for, but having a technical engineering mind, and 30 years of work in construction and repair trades has taught me to use physics. It is a good thing since my body hasn't held up nearly as well as I had hoped with wear and tear and genetics. My brother and I work construction jobs together and he is the bull in the china closet unless he has to be precise and I am the methodical one who works out the best method before killing my body or the other worker's bodies. Work smart instead of hard, if you have the choice.

Do you guys lock out (deenergize) the process equipment when doing maintenance?
@BellsFarming
@BellsFarming 6 месяцев назад
It depends on what we are doing. We have lock out tags if we need them.
@shanebell9589
@shanebell9589 6 месяцев назад
Generally speaking, if replacing parts, chains , sprockets, rollers, bearings, etc. yes those situations equipment is lock out-tag Out. Obviously when making adjustments such as belt tracking, pneumatic actuator speeds/synchronization equipment has to be on/ running, but by that point in the game guards are usually back installed and hands/fingers aren’t going in “bad places” lol

Not looking for something to criticize, but. Using good screwdrivers as drifts will damage the tips. A couple of sets of cylindrical driving tools, aka drifts, are cheap. Can be had made of steel or brass (for more delicate work, lest you reshape that). Then your screwdrivers will retain ability to get purchase on screws. Slotted screws are enough trouble without exacerbating things. Reed & Prince much mo' betta.
@BellsFarming

Molly, the right tools will cut your work in half... Farmers "generaly" do shit ass backwards... I don't understand it... Go get the right tools and move that farm into the blacker part of the ledger...
@BellsFarming
@BellsFarming 6 месяцев назад
I agree with you there. The he right tool makes life so much easier. I believe that farmers often do things “backwards” because they don’t have the right tools because they either can’t afford them, or they are lost hahahh. But they always manage it get it done!
@shanebell9589
@shanebell9589 6 месяцев назад
Also, there is so much different equipment we have to work on. As well as being plumbers and electricians and carpenters and concrete workers and mechanics and tires that owning all the “proper” tools would be impossible. Don’t have to win every battle as long as you win the war .
