Mad respect for taking up rollerblading and dedicating yourself consistently, even with the injuries which hurt more and take longer to recover from when you’re not a kid anymore. You got a lot of heart. After 17 years of rollerblading, I had to hang up my skates over 10 years ago due to: injuries, old age, and life. As much as I loved rollerblading and the dedication I put into it, I was never really that good (intermediate level at best). Since I stopped rollerblading though, there was always a feeling that a piece of my life was missing. About 6 months ago I found a new passion, Melbourne Shuffling, which has a lot of similarities to rollerblading (but less injuries 🤣) and there is a lot of carryover from rollerblading that has been really helpful. Point is, I totally understand what it’s like to pick up a new passion later in life. As long as you’re enjoying yourself though that’s all that matters. Keep working on your royales and definitely give those backside royales a go sometime 😉

If we watched the whole thing, do we get a 5% off on some merch or something? ;) You should have had "RECAP" over the whole video! (Ok I'm done!) Loved it man. Keep going can't wait to see next 6 months

Lmao I tried so hard to make this video shorter It was originally 45 minutes, I kept cutting stuff out but eventually I said f it, it's gonna be long lol I usually don't talk at length in these videos this was a good chance to get it all out haha I used to be a twitch streamer so I can easily talk for 8 hours straight about nonsense

Those One Trick A Day videos make me want to skate in a way that no other content does. They're just so fun!

they really are such a good vibe, I wish I didn't live thousands of miles away or I would go

@inlineonline same here. Central Florida is not exactly close to the rollerblading epicenter. Side note, you should try out the Killer 187 pads. Since your elbow is always bugging you. I swapped to the Killer pads after slamming 9 times on my knees in one day. The knee pads I was using before weren't nearly as padded and the new ones are night and day different

@@Metal_Scott I got some really nice fox pads with d3o and they have saved me sooo many times since, they have motorcycle level padding inside and then a hard shell on the outside, its made for downhill mountain biking so its super robust while also being comfortable, expensive but I highly recommend it. I do have scab pads which are very similiar to the 187 pads, and I think I will use those again when I skate transition because of that big platform to slide on my knees. But these fox pro d3o pads have saved me so many times. They are pretty overkill to be honest but I feel safe with them on lol

Youre a mad man. If I hadnt been skating since I was 8 I wouldnt be doing this now. I took a decade off and came back better than before. 😂 When I skated plastic anti wasnt common so I never learned royale until I took time off

@@inlineonline When you're as old as we are it's hard to heal up quickly or remain closer to 100% after big slams so for me it's the opposite. If I have a great skate day I pay for it later cause usually I give a bit more of myself then I account for and somewhat drag the next day. Or I won't skate as long or with as much energy. Randy Spizer is a great example of what I'm talking about. If you check out his more recent skating... it's somewhat cleaner and better than he skated as a kid in the 90s and he was one of the better pros. His style is more refined even though I'm sure he hasn't been consistently skating over the last decade. There aren't many older cats that start spinning into grinds after 30. That's not a thing. Lmao

keep up the grind bro. i been big wheel / wizard skating since last fall/winter and just started aggressive skating. grinding is def addicting. keep on nurturing that elbow bro im in the same boat. left elbow got owned from b2b repeated falls. too hard to fight against natural reaction to save ourselves lol

Still lurking in the background on and off ;) The progress is good! For me it's still the "fear" holdning me back from tryning new things or commit for real.. But sometimes it doesn't matter because it's about having fun most, other times I get super mad at myself for being a pussy and that just makes the fear worse and the commitment for me. Fun should be nr. 1 Overcomming Fear/Fokus nr. 2 and the last nr. 3 is Progress in the moment.. 2 1/2 years skating - 1 / 2 times a week.

just gotta remind yourself that you're going to fall and its going to be fine! just focus on the trick and take the falls as they come. You got this!!!
