Just a tip on the lemon tree thing, this is a good time of year to find lemon trees at places like home Depot and Lowe's for around $30 to $50 range that will be ready to go for fruit next season. You can also plant them in a 25 gallon nursery pot, just the solid black ones. So that way when you move, you can take it with you or you can bring it in the house when it's winter. Garage whatever. Just to protect it. They do sell smaller fruit trees that are around $25, and they are producing fruit, it's just not the best for them to produce fruit yet because the tree needs to get a little stronger. So you could get one of those and still plant it in your pot, you just remove the fruit for the first year or two until the tree gets a couple of feet tall. I live in florida, so we can have our citrus out almost all year. I'm on my first year of a few citrus trees and it was hard to pinch off all the fruit the other day, but I know in a few years I'll have a lot!

I am here for this comment! I was going to suggest getting a tree and just keeping it inside! I've heard lemon trees can be grown in the house for the longest time....not sure if it's true.

i agree. we bought one at a tractor supply store 3 years ago when they were marked down for mother's day ($20). we repotted it in a large container as we have harsh winters (had a blizzard here the past 2 days). it is nice to bring in when the weather is too cold and then we set it back out in the spring to fall when the weather is nice. so far it's bloomed every year. can't wait to get lemons!

I came to say the same thing: my husband grows a Meyer Lemon in a pot, and moves it into the garage with grow lights when the weather is cold. The lemons are so much tastier than store bought.

I don't want you to sell yourself short! The generative model gave you what you asked for, but YOU decided on the herb potatoes, YOU decided to mix the ingredients together to complement each dish, YOU made the spending decision that made the budget work (buying the ingredients that were on sale, or made the most sense financially). If someone had typed the same thing into chat gpt and just bought what it said and just mixed the ingredients it suggested for the same dishes, this would be a failure. AI is a good brainstorming tool, but it can't make the in-the-moment snap decisions that are intuition-based and required to make something good. Just like a stand mixer makes forming dough easier, YOU still made the dough, YOU still baked the bread. Love your insight into making food work on a budget and making it taste great and easy to make.

When you’re looking for a salad bowl at the thrift shop, look for a wide very shallow bowl. That way you make a “flat” salad that doesn’t need to tossed! No toppings sinking to the bottom or going to the first person to dig in if you forget to toss. It makes a lovely presentation that looks delicious to the last serving.

Brunch butterscotch Bundt rolls (kind of like monkey bread) spinach, bacon, mozzarella frittata (Maybe a sausage, pepper, and cheddar frittata too.) Snacks/appetizers: Fruit Spinach artichoke dip Crackers, pretzels, chips Dinner: Small ham Hash brown casserole Green beans Small Sweet potato casserole Small Strawberry, pretzel, jello salad Dessert: Cadbury egg cream pie Happy Easter!

Not only is this a nice brunch in general, and probably lovely for Easter - it also works for Passover as is. The basic menu is dairy with the feta cheese, but has no meat PLUS there's nothing that uses flour at all. It would be perfect for a Passover holiday lunch because the dinners are very heavy and meaty, and this would balance beautifully. I'd happily serve this to guests.

This is such a great meal! Looks like a delicious brunch anytime! I'm going to try your recipe for lemonade this weekend (I love the idea of using the peel/rind...normally we just leave it in the lemonade for a few hours and then strain it but I think your boil method could really add some extra flavor). I like the salad idea with the meal, but it really depends on who you are feeding...because salad and fruit might be a lot of fresh stuff for some people and they might just do one or the other...but if you have someone watching carbs or something, the salad is a good option if they don't want too much fruit. All-in-all, this was a fun video and I love the idea of it.

great idea! About the pineapple, to find out if it's ripe, just try to pull out one of the leaves at the top. If it comes out easily, it's ripe. If it won't come out or you really have to pull it, put it back and keep looking.
@primeaardvark646
@primeaardvark646 3 месяца назад
This is not really true. Please follow these simple tips to select a great pineapple. I’m looking for a pineapple that’s HEAVY for its size with a nice FULL CROWN. The LEAVES AREN’T BROWN, neither is the skin. There should be NO blue mold on the base by the stem and NO bruising or soft spots anywhere. The place by the stem should have a sweet fresh pineapple SCENT. All things being equal, I look for a YELLOW pineapple, but some varieties don’t get real yellow; but that doesn’t mean that they’re bad. The color is my last metric. Enjoy. It’s my favorite fruit. 😊

Wow, what a great idea. Heading straight to my laptop to test this out because it takes quite a bit of time to make meal plan and grocery list

Ok, so honestly, I've watched your video many times. I love this menu... We are on a budget and I plan to make this menu for Easter Brynch instead of traditional ham, mashed potatoes, and all the other carb filled sides the family wants. Lol.... The only thing I'm swapping is the salad for slices ham and biscuits 😋 the leftovers are fir dinner... yeah, I get to cook once. Also adding sliced 🥝 kiwi to fruit plate, bc the kids love em.... TY for this.😊❤

That fruit looked amazing. I love all fruit except honeydew and raspberries. Honeydew for the taste and raspberries for the way the seeds stick in my teeth.

Great video. You can use the lemon 🍋 , the olive 🫒 oil, to make your own vinaigrette with the herbs 🌿

You should have rested your lemon rind before squeezing the juice. It has SO MUCH FLAVOR, that you could add to the heated liquids, then strain if you don't want rind in your lemonaide.

There’s also a Brazilian lemonade that involves putting whole lemons in the blender with some sweetened condensed milk. It’s a great way to use the whole lemon too

Salad and quiche is one of my favorite brunch combos. Biscuits or some kind of bread would be nice with the frittata, where it doesn’t have a crust. Potatoes and fruit are probably enough carbs though. AI did a good job here. Looking forward to future experiments. Love your channel!

You almost had it correct, the difference between a frittata and a quiche is a crust and lots of cream. A frittata’s just a baked omelette with veggie. But a quiche has a lot of cream in it plus a crust.

I do love a good pasta salad. A great way to stretch a salad into a full meal for pretty cheap.

My favorite method for lemonade is to slice lemons into a glass pitcher (peel and all) put in your sugar and mash around with a wpoden spoon untill juice flows well. Add room temp water to dissolve sugar. Chill and filter adding more water if needed. This method gets that good lemon oil out.

That’s a nice vegetarian brunch, that can easily be made vegan or any other desired method for a similar price.👏🏽❤️

This is great! If you added a little more to your budget you could have gotten puff pastry and cream cheese and made berry cream cheese danish for an added sweet treat

This meal looks super yummy...all the fresh fruits and vegetables and I love a frittata, I've made them many different ways...one of my faves is potato and onion, using frozen French fries for the potato. And tomato basil goat cheese. So good!😄
