As a child, before I read any of the books and before I watched the movies, I thought Dumbledore was Santa, Hagrid his companion who punishes the children (it's an european thing), McGonagall was obviously the witch who lived in the woods, Harry was a middle-aged woman, Snape an ugly evil woman who was running an orphanage (Idk where that came from) and Ron and Hermione were the orphans. And I thought it was a movie about Christmas.
When I didn't knew about Harry Potter , I actually thought that the Half Blood Prince is a book in which Harry rescues a Prince who had lost half his blood . I basically thought that Harry Potter was boring so I never read it despite being a bookworm . I got Philospher 's Stone 1 year and 1 month back . And guess what I asked for my Birthday after 1 month of getting my first Harry Potter book . A copy of the Chamber of Secrets . I am potterhead now 😊
My friend asked me the names of Harry Potter characters before I watched and read the books (Huge fan now lmao). I said Molly was the grandma, Arthur the grandpa, Lily the mother, Ron the father then the remaining Weasley children. I said Hagrid was Tom Riddle (My friend said she had a crush on Tom Riddle. I just went by her type haha), I said Dumbledore as Voldermort, and Voldemort as Dumbledore 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thats all I remember saying so far lmao.

I find it hilarious that she can't identify any of the characters except for one house elf named Dobby. Everyone else is irrelevant, but this guy actually gets a name. Plus he was a house elf treated like crap and probably didn't hear his name too often outside of Hogwarts, which makes this even funnier.
Before I watched or read any of the books and movies, I thought moaning myrtle was Harry’s sister 😭 I knew so little about Harry Potter that I thought he was in a family with his parents, himself, and his sister, moaning myrtle (but I didn’t know her name at the time).
