Small knives absolutely have their place in the EDC world! I carry mostly 6-8inch knives and a 5th pocket carry with it! That being said big knives have a place also! It’s all about our personal preferences at the end of the day! Good stuff Kev, love these discussions! 👍🏻
I’m most comfortable with 8-1/2 to 9, with 8 being absolute minimum. Trying to handle my wife’s Bugout is very clunky, and feel like I’m about to cut myself. You know what they say about big hands, and big feet? Big knives, and big shoes.
I usually carry 2 knives 1 big and 1 small each one has it's place I like the pony stout more then the regular stout so the premium pony really appears to me especially with that sick ass milling around the pivot i think that really looks sharp the f5.5 and microburst are also very good I have multiple versions of both great video man 👍
Been absolutely loving the nip! I love small knives for home carry in sweatpants or gym shorts in the waistband can’t feel it at All!!! The nip took my trm holy nerds place 100%🔥🔥🔥🔥
Fellow lefty and lover of small knives here I really wanna get one of your Mr Fancy Pants 👖 pony stouts at some point thru look incredible and the OG pony stout is my favourite budget knife of 2023 and possibly just my outright favourite budget knife in my collection. The action and design is way above its pay grade, such an easy lefty index finger disengage on that liner lock as well. Love the looks of the Nip too and the name for the slipjoint version is hysterical 😂
Great theme for a post. I love this class of knives as well. Some that I would add: Giant Mouse Riv, Urban EDC Baby Barlow, Kaviso Keen Mini, MKM Izano, Kizer Mini Sheepdog, CIVIVI Baby Banter, Vosteed Mini Nightshade….. just off the top of my head without digging into the collection. Added your Nip on the drop (you could work on the clip, just saying)
Whats wrong with your clip? Too tight? U can adjust it pretty easy if so. Just turn it around so its facing off the knife, tighten it down then use the leverage to slightly bend it up. Baby steps until u get it where u like it. Go slow though. Or you can send it in and we can adjust it. Its a small knife so short clip can make it a little tougher to get perfect. We wanted to get away from the wire clip a little to have some variety
It’s the ergot’s for my hand geometry I suppose. It’s just a sharp edged rectangular block sitting on top of the scale. And I can’t just take it off (I tried) The screws are too long without the elevation of the clip. Also, going into the pocket the seam rides past a 45* angle. Coming out it’s like a 70 - 80* angle and hangs up a bit. Hey, I’m not a designer, but a wire clip would work for me.
I don't like small knives, and I cannot lie. I actually won't carry my smaller knives, just because they're small and I find them to be somewhat useless for what I do. I've carried and used the EMPEDC Thick Boy, and while it's small it acts big, and I like that. I thought it was small until I put it next to the Nip. However, and absolutely no butt-kissing here...your Nip knives haven't been out of my hands since getting them. I love them, and I've used both the Ti and the purple quite a bit the past few days. Great knives for opening packages, cutting paracord, all kinds of stuff. Will they do well in my work life as an industrial maintenance tech, I don't know. But, I'm sure they'd find a place somewhere. Love the design, that alone was enough to make me want one. You guys did a fantastic job!!
@@LeftyEDC most of the time the middle or front of the hole more, ngl I haven't handled too many slips so maybe my perspective is a little skewed, what would you put the TPK Barlow at for comparison?
Hey Kev, can't get the proto pony stout I got from you guys @bsw out of my pocket, absolutely love it (more than my haptic😮) , still afraid of taking my ear off with the growler😅. Thanks man,Billy
