I’ve lived this way a few times in my life. From the Costa Rican rain forest, to coastal Nicaragua to the Carson Valley below Lake Tahoe. The simplicity, gratitude, happiness, resourcefulness, self knowledge, and only relying on one’s self is worth every struggle! My only suggestion would be, have a dog with you. The primal relationship between man and dog truly shines in this type of environment. Plus, the security, friendship, love and trust is something to behold.

Hello Victor. I am now an old man. I did travel all over the world with my late wife. My 31st birthday was celebrated in Kabul, Afghanistan and we walked the Khyber Pass to Pakistan. There actually is a community of world travelers, singles and couples. I met a married couple who had been on the road for 7 years. I met "Joe" on a boat between Greece and Turkey. It had taken him a year to go from the Mediterranean to the southern tip of Africa. Without getting visas, hotels and travel arrangements in advance. What we did was small potatoes compared to the migrating nomads we met in Afghanistan. We saw the same thing in the PRC way out in the desert with nomads on camels when Americans were not supposed to travel to China during the Cultural Revolution.

There was a Time when people could work a normal job and get paid enough to easily afford two car, mortgage, insurance, food etc, and still have enough money to save AND go on multiple vacations a year. If you were smart and frugal/sustainable or rich, you could afford to travel years at a time. I mean you used to be able to work and save comfortably for a few years, quit your average job, and travel the world for months. That is so far from reality now.
I spent a little while like this on a beach in South America 25 years ago , pure peace. The life style calls me strongly but now i have children and not being with them would leave a huge hole in my heart . Its wonderful to see this though. Thank you

Something I learned when I was living alone on a remote island in Fiji was; don't cook with rocks that are by the water because if they've absorbed the water they can explode, and don't use driftwood to cook with or make fires with because Ocean driftwood has a high salt content, and chlorine is a chemical compound of salt. So when you burn driftwood, it releases high doses of dioxins. “If you're breathing it in, it's carcinogenic, and that's not a good thing,” So my rules are never to burn Driftwood and make a rock formation for fire by the ocean. There are ways to do it in the sand and there are other woods that you can probably find, but just for your own safety thought you might want to know this. Again thanks for the videos

What a wonderful way to live. We in the West with all our mod cons, fancy cars, houses and food on our doorstep but are we truly happy? If I was a younger man I would throw it all away in a heartbeat for this simplistic hunter gatherer lifestyle.

You need a waterproof camera, so you can film videos of yourself swimming underwater and catching the fish like other RU-vidrs. Please do this. Also people, the way this guy soaks his wet suit in the water before putting it on is the right way to do so. I live in Northern California and I have seen many surfers put on their wet suits then get in the freezing water and be shocked, because it isn't warm like Southern California's oceans. I was wondering 🤔 about the wet suit thing , if the best way is to put it in water and then put it on. I know nothing about wetsuits or diving/ water equipment. I image its probably also easier to off the wet suit too if it was put in water first
Some wetsuit especially for freediving easily get tear/ damage if you put it on dry, they are very delicate that's why you need to wet it first before putting it on your body when it's wet it's slide easily on your body. Professional Freedivers always do that because they are using this kind of wetsuit.

My favorite day : spending time to catch something in the water/forest that i could bring to my house (mushrooms, fishes, herbs and wild fruits ...), cooking for my wife and myself ... Great feeling !
