Workaway changed my life ❤ I feel like I've found a missing piece of my family. The way I feel at home in my host family's home is unique and has been so healing - it still is, when I am back there. I enter a different headspace, I often sleep a lot (I usually have so many issues with sleep!) and I am at peace in general. I refuse to believe I have not lived in that house before 2021, that's literally HOME to me now. No words will ever do justice to that experience, I am just so grateful for my "new" mums and furry siblings ❤

A beautiful video. I totally agree with the views you explain from Minute 8:30. I feel like facing judgemental people with judgement just fosters more hatred. You have to show them compassion and kindness and try to understand where their believes are coming from. I am so glad you had such a beautiful time with your host and benefitted so much from taking a glimpse into her life. I admire how appreciative you are of the peace that her garden gave you. I really admire you for being so wise, content, spirituell, reflected and self-loving and -caring at such a young age! I needed about 36 years to get to that point and had people telling me that that seemed young to them because they had needed 50 years or more. So for you being so internaly grown in your mid twenties makes me even more exited for your future 🦋
I did a workaway in Türkiye early this year. I relate so much to that inital feeling of learning to understand and adapt to the hosts way of life. I rememeber her telling us to not use too much toilet paper or not to leave doors open for too long to prevent her 10 cats from getting out haha, I never thought much about these things before. My host also always had every meal prepared with a story about where all the Ingredients were from- a neighbour or a friend or the person she exchanged olive oil for cheese with. It was such an amazing experience learning about not only a different culture but a way of life that I felt like I wanted to learn to adapt to in the future. thanks for this video Jade and sharing how enlightening this kind of experience can be :)
Her english is so good. I am from Bavaria myself, but moved to Berlin a year ago. Moving away made me really appreciate the beauty of rural Bavaria. I love it every time I come back. I am also going to stay with a host from workaway and am so excited after I seeing your experience with it.
Jade your idea of approaching people whose ideas we might not agree with through a lens of empathy provided such a shift in perspective! Jade watching this video in my grandparents rural garden in northern Romania is exactly what I needed this afternoon. Couldn't agree more with the importance of going on adventures in nature, connecting with it and investing your time int nature. One of the times I felt most connected in nature was climbing the mountain last summer by my grandparents house and the second was probably at the valley of the rocks in Devon. Thank you for creating this safe and inspiring corner of the internet.
I’ve been studying up and reading my own tarot for the last 4-5 months myself, I’ve found such a peace and meditative state when shuffling and pulling my cards, and have read for friends and everyone seems so touched and seen through their validation powers. I really wish there wasn’t a stigma around them and other facets of spirituality cause it’s not harmful, or hurting anyone I think even “negative energy” cards only provide light and reflection which becomes optimistic in their own special way.
I always admire the impact you have on other people, myself included. Following your journey really helps me navigate my own crazy life jumping from place to place, I think it was seeing you taking a risk at studying at Minerva and spending every semester in a different semester that made me realise that this is exactly what I want to be doing at this point of my life. Because of this I did an Eramsus year in Spain, now I'm doing an internship in Italy and October I'm moving to Germany to do my Masters. Hearing you say you just might be over your mourning period made me so happy for you, you've been through so much and you've dealt it with such strength and bravery - I am so proud of you💛💛you are such an amazing and inspiring presence in this world I'm sending you all the positive energy 💛💛💛
I was just in host family in Taiwan for almost 9months learning Mandarin. I had a wonderful time learning about their way of life. So happy for you. You finding joy in Germany country side. Also, heard about the work away program too. It sounds very cool.
The way this made me cry because it hits so deep ... and coming only a week after I looked into Workaway myself. The message about discriminatory people also deserving love also stayed with me because it's easy to forget because they are harmful to other people (and creatures). I would really like to take that message with me

I cried for nearly the whole duration of this video. For a very long time I've known that I want to move countries, but I continuously put it off until I got depressed and I felt like I was stuck in life. I then gathered the strength to finally do it and I decided to do a masters degree in the UK (the country I want to spend the rest of my life in), hoping I get a job here and get the chance to stay. After this whole year of working and studying at the same time, building and curating my portfolio and now looking for a room in London, makes me proud of myself but really, really, REALLY fearful of not being good enough. Of not finding the means to stay here and just having to go back to the starting line but older, poorer and completely knocked off. I have so much pressure on myself and very little room for recharging. I don't normally comment on videos, I'm more of a silent viewer, but I just had to say how much of an inspiration you are!!! Seeing videos like this and hearing the stories of people like Regine who just knows that she has to do something even if it's the scariest thing ever, just pushes me to keep trying to achieve my dreams. Again THANK YOU!!!
She reminded me of Voltaire's phrase: "One must cultivate one's garden," menstioned in one of my all-time favourite literary works, "Candide ou l'Optimisme" . It is a vibrant reminder that wealth, enjoying a luxurious, does not equal happiness. Simplicity and satifaction are key if you wanna lead a happy life. Besides, I do believe that connecting with nature through acts like gardening, camping, or simply walk in the woods or by the sea is better than therapy. Well, it's beneficial for both our physical and mental health. Go get some free therapy.

I've been dreaming of trying Workaway to actually live life and to see the world in the way I feel we were meant to-by meeting others and making friends, sharing knowledge, and experiencing happiness in the simple and mundane life. I keep getting bogged down by others saying "but it's strangers", "you don't know them", "what if X Y or Z happens?" or how will I take time off from work and all these other excuses rather than going and just trying it to see what happens. I definitely feel more inspired seeing your experience, and will be trying my best to make plans and avoid the excuses to try soon!

Yes, Germans are so soft and warm inside than you'd expect them to with a hard exterior. Not many are allowed there. But if you're lucky, you'll get to see that side of them.

I suggest you look into the term homeopathy, if Regine had plant matter around she is more likely into phytotherapy. There is a big difference between those two approaches.
I felt pulled to writing a comment on this video. Like Jade described how sitting in the garden and taking in the nature made her cry without a specific reason, watching this video did the same to me. I feel like this video captures the magic and quiet you can experience while staying in nature (& doing a workaway) so well :). I wonder if more people experience this: sometimes when I see Jade uploaded a video, I don't click it, but rather scroll through. I feel part of me is scared watching it because I know the video will put up a mirror for me. Sometimes I even feel a bit annoyed when this happens and I notice I just feel annoyed because Jade uploaded this video (LOL!). Then - obviously - after some time I notice the video again and looking at it a second time, I click on the video and watch it. The moment the video starts, a feeling of calm and quiet comes over me like a warm blanket. Like I was holding my breath and now I can release it. I realise its a mirror I want to see! amazing video! honestly that feels like living with my mom lol I have to tiptoe around her rules! but we had a few plants in the terrace that needed watering every other day and there were some cooking which I had to help with but it was good! Bytheway love the gardening content !
