Oh my God I'm crying. Just thinking of all those soldiers that cannot come home for Christmas, just like in WWI when the soldiers were promised they would be home for Christmas. It saddens me that the world is like this :(
I live in Japan...this song touches my heart now that Christmas is near. I wish...I could be with my family. But growing up happens and sometimes we take being and spending time with our families for granted. I wish I could have a day..to be with them.

So, I doubt anyone will see this, but hey I need to write it out. Summer before last I moved from Michigan to California and I haven't been back in about a year. I can't go back this year, and I know I'm only in high school, but almost everyone of my friends and the people I love are in Michigan. This song now has a completely different meaning for me. The end part "if only in my dreams" really gets me now, because that's the only way I can visit. And it's hopeless to think I'll be there, but I do. If only in my dreams

My Mama started a Christmas tradition for me to follow thru the years after she was gone. Every time she heard this song, she would fight off tears. I would ask, "Mama, why does this song always make you cry?" She wouldn't tell me (one of many things she would never tell me even though I asked a billion times). I would say "Don't cry..." and leave it at that. Now I can't hear this song...she's home now. Miss you Mama. You WERE Christmas and always will be. Thanks for all the wonderful memories of this day. I've been away from home for 3 years now. This song will always bring tears to my eyes as I wish with all my heart to go home and visit my friends and family for the holidays. For the last three years, I have been home for Christmas, in my dreams, and I hide it by trying to make Christmas special where I am for those around me.
I feel sorry it must sticks since the holidays are a time when homesickness kicks you real hard when your away from family and friends :( I hope there will be a time when you see them again
Iv'e never heard a more accurate statement in my life. I moved away from my family and friends in sixth grade, i'm now a sophomore. This is the first year that this song has really affected me much. Because last January, I joined the Army, so for the first time, I'm far away from home and there was a chance I wouldn't be home for Christmas. Thankfully, I'm one of the lucky ones, and I got confirmation that I will be home for Christmas. And my heart and my thoughts are with everyone who can't be home for Christmas.

I used to cry to this song whenever my mom was working as an over-the-road truck driver. I hardly ever got to see her around Christmas. She stays at home now, but I still cry to this song because I live over 100 miles away from my folks...and I hardly get to see them for the holidays.
michael buble's voice is so beautiful and it calms people down. It is really terrible that his son has a cancer, therefore, he has to put his music business aside to take care his son, hopefully his son will get better soon, and michael buble can come back and keep singing for us.

Somehow this song takes the edge away from not being home. My husband and I are stationed in Guam for military reasons and being away from family during the holidays can be hard. I miss home, but I will be home in my thoughts

This is one of my favorite Christmas songs, the song in general, not just MB's version. But it gets harder and harder to listen to as i get older so do my grandparents. Seeing them get older and older these past few years My grandfather's health has esp. dropped as he has had many seziures and strokes to where he no longer talks as much and his memory isnt nearly as good as it use to be. I also miss my other grandpa who passed in 08. What I would give to go back to Christmas as a kid with them.

You know, I share your sentiments because I too experienced being far away from my family when I was on my job in Libya for 3 years without going home to my family. I too chose this life so that my family may live theirs to the fullest. And being away on christmas is the worst part of my life.
