when magnus made the “i’m not talking to YOU” comment, I don’t think alec was shocked purely because of the flirting, I think he was shocked that someone noticed him over jace. his whole life he probably felt second best to jace and that was the first time someone acknowledged only him with a positive connotation. I think that’s one of the reasons alec was finally able to be himself with magnus, because magnus saw him as someone nobody else did. not a soldier, not a parabatai, not a brother, but his own person.

He always lived in Jaces shadow never noticed but than someone came along called Magnus 😍 and changed all that

This is why Alec is truly my favourite character in the books and in the show, he was completely selfless, all he wanted was to make his family proud to not disappoint them, to make them happy and barley anyone saw this they just called him up tight, bitchy . He as Simons words was a "lap dog" and I'm so glad he finally got away from that and realised he is worth being the first seen in a room having the attention on him and is worthy of having the love he deserves and wants. The pressure he constantly had on him to be perfect, the first born constantly in the shadow being compared being chosen second, all of the years being treated like this and yet he still remained selfless even too selfless at times, is an amazing quality to have. You did a absolutely beautiful job showing that and I've not yet to see a better alec fmv.

Alec Lightwood is the best character on Shadowhunters. His love for his family, Magnus and his friends is so pure. He will do anything for his loved ones. He is flawed. He is not perfect but he always owns upto his mistakes which makes him even more beautiful as an individual. ❤❤❤

Alexander Lightwood has always been my favorite character since the beginning of the series, even when I read the books. I don't relate to him 100%, but there are some characteristics that draw me to him. I cherish him with all my heart, and I just want him to be happy. Also, can season 3B in the show please focus more on his mental health? Because we all know that he suffers from it

(IM ABOUT TO RANT ABOUT THE BOOK VERSION OF ALEC THIS WILL BE A LONG COMMENT PREPARE YOURSELF) In the books Alec is described as "up tight, bitchy, rude, and moody" but honestly I see him as the complete opposite. His whole life he trained to be as good as Jace, all he wanted was for his parents to be proud of him. In one point in the books he was possessed by a demon who showed him his greatest wishes, and Alecs greatest wish was his dad being proud of him. Alec told Jace about the dream and said "I trained and trained to be as good as you, but it never worked. I've never really minded being the dark star to your supernova" Jace was shocked. Alec had been living in Jaces shadow for so long that he had gotten used to it, which was honestly so depressing. Not to mention Alec had just gotten dumped by Magnus and was a complete emotional disaster. The poor boy went through hell and nobody payed attention to him. I'm so glad people are finally realizing that Alec wasn't bitchy, he was just broken💔

I don't understand why Jace is considered the best Shadowhunter just because he's the best physical fighter. There's more to the duty than just killing things, & I frankly consider his judgement suspect.

Holy Shit. This had me from the first second. I barely ever cry during movies, videos, whatever but this really did bring tears to my eyes. Idk what I should mention first: the beginning with the quotes and text? EPIC! Or the following part where everyone told Alec he is not good enough? TEARS! Or the part where you showed the change - how he got more confident, believed in himself and started to SMILE. EVEN MORE TEARS!
