This is DEFINITELY not the holiday present we envisioned 12 months ago! It’s definitely a humbling experience and one of the best (and most expensive) learning lessons ever.
Yes, the grey market has its share of risks. Yes, luxury watches are not immune to market risk either...but then again, every investable also has ups and downs. They’re unavoidable.
And so we finally unload the white Audemars Piguet white ceramic perpetual calendar that we picked up at the IWJG show in Miami back in Q1 of this year. After the dust settled, the loss amounted to $165,000. The good thing is that we freed up even more capital to make a lot more careful purchases going forward (as well as invest in e-commerce and the other high-growth projects that we’re committed to for the next few years).
Talking about collectibles, we get a visit from some comic book collectors that may be good candidates for our upcoming tokenized marketplace for luxury goods. We will also be starting a series of Metaverse events and RU-vid live streams related to this soon. Here’s the link to Luxry project:
