When I worked at a casino, one of the posts I had to stand at for 40 minutes had a Genie based machine. When you put a ticket in, the machine would say "You have made a wise choice my friend." There was a regular who would cash out EVERY TIME she had a winning spin, I heard that machine say that about 75 or 80 times in 40 minutes and I wanted to go insane.
For years I stayed away from "high limit" slot content on RU-vid, but you three have a likeable grace when losing and you aren't completely obnoxious when you're winning. It's not a spam-filled three-ring circus. If you're looking for...tenuously rational gambling strategies to test out, I'd enjoy a video pitting one bankroll of many small bet spins vs. one bankroll of much fewer high bet spins. In theory, the house edge comes from repetition, so, in theory, you have a better chance to come out ahead if you play more on fewer wagers. As a gambler you're hoping for those outlier big win events, which get offset by all the, more likely, casino-favoring loss events. Example, a casino will happily let you play a thousand $1,000 hands of blackjack, but they're much more hesitant to take on one $1,000,000 hand. Even though the bankroll is the same, the small edge they have only heavily favors them over the long-term. At any rate, thanks for the great daily content! Keep on being awesome!
funny you say that. I have a winning strategy. I never go to the same casino twice. I never play the same machine twice, and I always play penny slots. I've gone in with $10 and left with $100 almost 5 times XD
I enjoy watching Vegas Matt go through all of Kubler-Ross's Five Stages of Grief with each ticket he puts into the machine. It's highly informative and educational. I usually stop at denial because I have had more practice with that response and I'm really good at it. I avoid the anger, the depression and all that useless bargaining.
You know I have to say, EJ really does a hell of a job editing these videos. Honestly I do not watch anyone else that streams in Vegas just because of their layout on their videos. As someone who has worn both for a living, “overalls” or “bib overalls” are the ones with the shoulder straps and pockets on the chest. I wore those as a landscaper. “Coveralls” or a “boiler suit” is the one that has sleeves (and sometimes a hood). I wore those for servicing laboratory equipment.

I love watching these videos, and the energy you all bring to them. However, I got physically ill when I saw a $43,400 loss. That is almost equal to the debt I had (non-gambling related) before getting into debt management last year. Life changing money. I can't imagine the roller coaster it must be.

@ VegasMatt. You forgot one step. You cash out the ticket. Put it into another machine then cash it out again and then put it back into the original machine. This way it has a different game ID and doesn’t think it’s just the same cash.

So my dad grew up on a farm in Kansas during the great depression. He told me he hated it that his mom would only buy him bibbed overalls. He said he wanted "bibless overalls" (jeans), but his mom wouldn't buy them because bibbed overalls were $1.25 a pair and bibless overalls were $1.50. And yes, OshKosh B'Gosh has adorable overalls for little babies and toddlers!

This is the perfect example of never go back to the casino to chase losses. You will never break even if you gamble this way. You always lose more than you win in the long run.
If anything, all these slot videos do is drive home the fact that one cannot win on a long term basis. VM loses tens of thousands. Yes, he has occasional wins, but overall is a loser. (He makes this money via streams, ad revenue, etc.) All slot streamers lose money over the long term. (Of course if the average player hits a huge jackpot and walks away that is a different story.)
I really like these videos Matt, I've been watching for a long time now and It's always refreshing when RU-vidrs specifically in the gambling sphere are transparent in their wins/losses I've seen so many videos where someone 'Wins' a huge jackpot but they lost $5,000 to win $2200. With yourself you're living the life and the casino is meant to wreck people at the end of the day, I hope this shows people the reality of gambling especially when there are a lot of impressionable young people watching.
IRS sucks ass. The videos are proof enough of an overall loss at the year end. Hoping Vegas Matt wins millions at years end but it’s a very slim chance. Regular folks who gamble can actually get screwed by the IRS since jackpot hand pays are considered income which can potentially put someone into the next tax bracket. Imagine going from 24% to 32%.
