This is a really beautiful tribute for your friend, Rob. We are so sorry for your loss. Benny was a massive voice in our space and a hero to many. Lots of love, prayers and condolences from the entire Variant team. 😞
I’m a college student now, but you and Benny essentially raised me since middle school on comics. You guys got me through a lot of times. I really hope you realize how loved both you and Benny are.
@dakotaleach1386 I felt the same way. It's odd, they were youtubers, but they spent so many hours in the background that their voice became so familiar. They really did reach out and make more connections with people than they will ever realize.
How's the governments "Nuw Wurld Orda" treating ya?? I still remember yur Noosi fueled rant during Covld. I don't care what happens, I'm never letting yu slide for that. Before yu go reacting to my comment, better make sure yu got all yur boosters. Making sure that yer "protected from covld", is surely more important than responding to me.
Been avoiding comic recaps because of his passing. He was there for us all through our highs and lows in life. He had such a beautiful personality from what I have seen. Taking it hard cause I’ve watching him for almost a decade. It’s like losing a part of my life…he got me through shit jobs, marriage woes, boredom and errands. It’s sort of surreal because I don’t even know him yet I still mourn. Rip Benny and thank you for everything. Edit: not gonna end it on a sad note….favorite line was from his marvel zombies full story…”tchalla twinkies”. Can never talk about marvel zombies without reciting that!
I spent hours and hours going between Comicstorian and Comics Explained through the years. They gave us the storytelling worth of various generations of comics books. For me, they created the love for fantasy stories and what lessons the authors can give us trough them. You'll never be forgotten, Benny
This is gonna leave a scar in comicbook history. Thank you for everything, Benny. You and Benny were entertaining and enjoyed the hype moments which got me back into comics.
Levrithin what the hell is wrong with you, a famous and wonderful person just died 3 days ago meanwhile you are talking about making superior content than him. You are truly disgusting and don't deserve to have an account to be write on. You deserve to be banned and slammed by his fans in the comments you got
I'd watch the both of you guys continuously at night attempting to tune out the world, from endless car rides to anything in between. You both continued to grow the love for anything comicbook related for not only myself but for countless more.
One of the greatest pioneers of the RU-vid comic book world. Know that you and Ben are legends. Thank you for helping me find my love for comics. We all appreciate what you both have done for the comic book community. Legendary ambassadors.
Damn... That's beautiful buddy. I lost my dad more than 20 years ago, I kept his glasses as a keepsake my whole life, but during the pandemic, I changed the lenses of those glasses and started to wear them. What you wrote was so beautiful that I almost cried. I want to remember those words for the rest of my life.
Benny Died?!😢 oh man he's been a part of my comic book world for over a decade. He will be greatly missed. Definitely putting the full story Playlist on tonight. RIP Benny
@chinghamburger2200 definitely tragic. His family and yputube family will truly miss him. At least have him telling all of these great comic stories. Condolences to his family. RIP Benny the Comicstorian
You two are the very reason I’m so into comics and know about them. Thank you to you and Benny for all the work you’ve put in. Never let it be confused that we take it for granted. Thank you Benny for all your cool ass voice overs.
To this day, I still remember how exciting and fun Benny made Blackest Night for me to listen to. It’s still one of my favorite comic stories because, in part, due to how he narrated the comic. Rest in Power, Benny. Thanks for changing this nerd’s life.
Beatiful spoken. You two have been a reason i have such a deep passion for comics, i get caught in you’re videos just listening and expand my knowledge for these fictional characters. Sending love!
Benny and Rob were definitely the 1, 2 punch of comics on youtube. They both got me through so many long distance car rides and study sessions back in the day. R.I.P. to one of the greats.
Been watching/hearing you for year's....this is very brave and beautiful Rob. I'd imagine this is exact how he would want to be remembered by you....God bless man 🙏🏽
You both have been such long time sources of positivity for the comic scene and me specifically. I owe most of my knowledge of the comic-sphere to you both. Sorry for your loss. RIP Benny... You will be missed
I literally clicked on this video thinking I was getting a fun Disneyland vlog where Benny runs off... now I'm here on the verge of tears... Damn... RIP to the man who made countless people smile and laugh.
You and Benny helped my poor 10 year old ass keep my passion for comics, and 10 years down the track I'm still hooked. thank you so much to you both. Rest easy Benny.
Your honesty and volunerabilty is inspirational. I am so sorry for your loss. Take all the time you need. We're here to support not judge. Thank you for teaching us
He set the groundwork for people like the masked man, Dr. Goon, and plenty of the manga reviews, as well. They influence pop culture entertainment in and out across all mediums. We don't even know the full extent of who and what we've lost, I think.
Man, this devastated me.. You and Benny were the pillars of comic book knowledge to me. When my broke ass couldn't afford to buy the comic, i would wait for you and Benny to talk about that comic. Rest in peace, Comicstorian.
I never post on these videos but today is very sad day. I enjoy all your content. I'm 64 and still watch cartoons. You guys bring the comics to life and make them more interesting. I've been listening to Benny for a few yrs now and truly enjoyed his stories.R.I.P. BENNY!! I KNOW GOD WILL LOVE your stories as well
Beautiful man. Big fan of Rob and Benny . I was saddened by his passing. Still in disbelief. I love both of your work and happy to see like. minded folks about comics and wish to meet y’all in person one day. RIP Benny 🙏😇
This just took me completely off guard...I had no idea... I have no words. You two were some of my inspirations to start RU-vid in the first place and enhanced my love of comics. All I can say is prayers to his wife, family, coworkers, friends... Sad day, but he lives on through his videos and commentary. SMH sending good vibes your way too Rob.
Still hard to believe, you guys reinvigorated my love for comics, feels like a part of my childhood was ripped out of my chest hearing that Benny is gone, Thank you guys for sharing your love of comics and allowing us to enjoy them as viewers, RIP Benny, keep inspiring new comic lovers rob.
You and Benny reignited my passion and love for comics and I wanted to thank you guys for that, I’m so sorry for your loss, but also so happy you had someone who affected so deeply
A very touching tribute, Rob. I remember back in The Weekly Pull days, you and Benny were so entertaining together and you could tell you both meant a lot to each other. It's so painful to lose someone who's both a strong and integral part of the community and a great friend who always made time for others. Sending you my condolences!
@IWannaUnaliveMyself Dude you're on RU-vid trolling someone that lost a friend. If you're weren't online talking shit you'll literally get your ass kicked. I can't stand trolls like you. Shut your godamn mouth, you useless SOB.
You and Benny are the only 2 people I can listen to for hours upon hours. He will be greatly missed by us all who had the chance of listening to his work. Thank you both
It’s taken me a few days to process & think of what to even say during a time like this. I am so sorry for you terrible loss from the bottom of my heart. You’re tribute was beautiful Rob, Benny is definitely smiling down on you brother ❤ I’m old enough to remember when reading/liking Comics & Superheroes & Supervillains was definitely not something that made us part of the “cool crowd” being called a nerd back then wasn’t the in thing & a lot, if not most of us , got picked on for it. In my eyes we were & still are the coolest kids no matter how older we are now (even the people just getting into it & of all ages) this was always such a strong common bond between all of us. So to have any kind of representation come up on RU-vid was great!! I can’t even find the right words to express how much it meant for this girl, who never really felt like I fit in growing up, to find her people. It made me happy to not just think of what this means to me, but all the other people out there like me that LOVED everything about Comics & everything that came along with it. RU-vid gave us this chance to see there’s so many more of us out there who literally eat, sleep & breathe this stuff & it makes my heart fill with joy. Especially in a time where our hearts feel so sad. I may not know you all personally but I love each & every member in our extended Super-Family ❤ Benny’s contribution will NEVER be forgotten & his legacy lives on through his awesome videos but more importantly through the people who loved him, his family, friends & extended Super-Family. I think everyone agrees that you should take all the time you need Rob, no one would fault you for that, if anything I’d like to think we all agree & support you during this difficult time. Thanks Benny you were & are a true Hero! RIP 🫡
You're a good man Rob. What a beautiful send off for Benny. He got me through some.dark times without ever knowing keeping me company on the long drives for work. May he rest in peace. Hope you the family and the extended family are holding up, much love ❤️
Your guys' videos helped me quit using heroin. I withdraw for 2 weeks keeping my head in a space only you guys, blerd without fear and dopespill could keep me in. THANK YOU, thank you Benny. Thank you Rob. You helped me and i love you guys. We love you Natalie. RIP Benny please tell the fallen ones who created our heros we love and miss them.
Im 52 years old and blubbering like a baby. I feel like i lost a friend I've known for over 10 years. RIP Benny. You are a legend and should be remembered fondly by the entire comic book industry as someone that introduced many new fans to comics as well as revitalized old fans that may have stepped away (me). I tuned in regularly to see what Rob and Benny posted. I remember wanting to find out about the Celestials and typed in "Celestial explained" in the youtube search just to have a video pop up saying "The Celestials Explained." Apparently Rob knew what I wanted because the video had only been up less than a week. After that I discovered this dude that read stories dramatically and mispronounced ALOT of words especially names. I was then sucked in and was once again a fan of comics. Rob and Benny caught me up and also gave me an appreciation for DC. I was a strict rabid Marvel fan. Robs description of Benny, "he has his own gravity and people are drawn to him" reminds me so much of my childhood friend I lost on 9/11. Mark Bingham was exactly like that. He was commonly referred to as "the human Labrador", just this fun energetic goofball that everyone loved.
It was 2020, I was dealing with covid, and as I lay in bed bored, I found one of his videos covering injustice. I hadn't read a comic in forever, but listening to him do his voiceovers brought me back into the fold. I was a fan from that moment on. Thanks for the Stories Benny, you'll be missed.
That sounds crazy but its true. They were able to make educational videos for the general audience so they had a better understanding of the existing lore. It also goes the other way where fans of the movies were able to get their feet wet in the world of comic books in a digestable format. Their channels are a footnote in comic history. They started as fans just like the rest of us but they carved out a name for themselves in the industry. If this is the end of Robs channel as well (i hope not) him and Benny had an incredible run on this platform. Longevity is hard to come by in a creator space and they achieved that.
What an absolute heartbreak, I discovered this channel in my early teen years. Listening to Benny's voice tell magnificent stories was definitely the highlight of my days and I'd be lying if i said it didn't influence the person I am today. Rest in peace Benny, your memory is as infinite as the stories you told.
You, Benny and Arris are the foundation for any comicbook media. Specifically here on RU-vid. Not only did ya made me into who I am now as a collector but got me through a very difficult time in my life. I may have stopped watching you guys for a bit but god will I never forget ya. My dearest condolences to your loss. Benny will forever be loved and missed.
How many people who deal with depression and loneliness use these channels just to make it through the night? I know I have on many occasions. Both channels, Comicstorian and ComicsExplained. I just want to thank Benny for helping me out on all of those lonely nights when I needed the comfort of a classic comic tale just to get some shut eye. You will be missed. THANKS AGAIN.
I popped this video open in a new tab as soon as I saw it. I watched about a minute and then I clicked away. I just couldn't deal. It took me two weeks to get back to it. I'm sorry about your friend. You guys have been a regular part of my life for nearly a decade now. Things will never be the same, but we carry on with the memory of those we've loved and lost. Thank you for sharing your feelings with us. RIP Benny and his stinky feet.
Literally the Batman and Superman of the comic book RU-vid. Thank you both so much for your insights and time to tell us about the stories we all love.
I was a HUGE supporter and fan of Benny and the content he created. You two were my go to for comic books when I didn’t have access to comics. The friends I needed. He will forever be missed. This was a beautiful tribute, Rob. He will be remembered and loved
Sorry Rob. Your strength and resolve to speak about your friend says everything. Prayers out to his family, friends, and fans of his work. Going to miss you Benny!!!
Yeah, same for me. I found the Comicstorian channel back in 2015-16. That was when I started watching the MCU movies for the first time. Through him is how I found this whole "Comic book RU-vid community" (other RU-vidrs like Comics Explained, DopeSpill Comics, Comicisland, Comic Drake, and so on). His loss is really sad.
I first started listening to comics from you and Benny which was Dceased. I listen to your guys' videos on Dceased about 3-4 times a year each, I just came back to listen to it and I found out this news 1 month later. Im so sorry on everyone parts, this was tragic. I WILL NOT stop listening to both of your Dceased videos.
You two have been a beautiful part of my life. You both have opened doors to share MY love of comics to my own children in a way that speaks to them. My family is better because of you guys. Thank you. Rest easy, Comicstorian.
You and Benny were the first comic-book RU-vidrs I ever saw when I started my journey through them 12 years ago. I will always be grateful. One love from Greece
Brought me to tears in the first couple mins. I love you guys and the impact you guys have had on me. And my love for comics. I will appreciate all he has ever done and rewatch his old videos with love and care
Literally grew up on the both of you. Literally the two best story tellers that inspired a new generation. You both brought excitement to comics and are forever cemented as the grandfathers when it comes to comic breakdown. RIP to Benny !!!
Heart goes out to the family. Rob amazing tribute. You 2 are the only ones i love to listen to for hours. R.I.P. Benny....thank you for everything that you shared with us. Your love for what you did was and is infectious...
@@logan-cooper764Hey you Psychopath! This is a Eulogy for his friend that has died. And you want to say this? I’m an Intel Analyst for the US Army, I can just get your IP address, and have you banned from RU-vid forever. If you don’t apologize I swear you’ll be banned. I also do web editing for HUGE channels. You better apologize. I’m not kidding man.
Been watching both you & Benny since you were trying to reach 400k subs. I'm a 30 yr old dude, run my own business and don't get a tonne of social interaction. Listening to you lads talk about things you're so passionate about and sharing that with me/us means a lot and has got me through some difficult days. I'm terribly sorry for your loss Rob, losing a friend is not easy, have also been there. Take solace in the fact there's nothing but fond memories there and both of you are probably the reason each other is where you're at today. Love you both - Rip Benny.
Okay, I'm ready to watch. I'm a huge fan of both of Rob and Benny. Once I saw you cry, I needed time to make sure I can give my full attention. Love you both. Next time you come to NY for a comiccon I'm not going let another oppertunity pass by without meeting you. I hope I get a chance to shake your hand and thank you for helping me keep alive this part of my childhood.
You and Benny are the first people that I saw really doing deep dive comic covers. Always so in depth and amazing content! I loved Benny doing voice overs for the comics! May he rest in peace and know he was greatly loved by fans, family and you Rob! He was a blessed man indeed!
I stopped reading comics for a long time and then I saw you two on RU-vid. You two gave me back my love and excitement back. I got back to writing and creating again, you two made me a fan again. We love you Benny and Rob.
You and Comicstorian, really highlighted the best of the comic summary and comic explanations era. Growing up with both of you has enlightened my comic knowledge. Your eulogy really highlights the friendship you built with Benny and its genuine. Keep your head up and remember the postive times! RIP Comicstorian aka Ben!
Rob, its because of you and your channel that I even found Benny the Comicstorian!! Thank you so much for that! Beautiful tribute, Ik Benny would appreciate all the kind words! RIP Benny, you will be missed by your family, friends, and your undying fanbase! You gave us so much knowledge, entertainment, and happy moments that will forever be in our minds and hearts! 🙏❤💔 Thank you for everything Benny!!!
@@NewJerseyNationalist Bro wtf are you even trying to say, and genuinely wtf is your problem? A person passes away, and this is how you conduct yourself? This is why your channel sucks and only has 39 subscribers. You're not even good at trolling, I pity you if this is how you choose to spend your free time, which you definitely have a lot of after looking at your "waste of a time you call a channel"... get some therapy man, thats why youre a lonely pos... 🤦♂🤏
You know a man is worthy of respect when his friend can cry and laugh remembering the good times they had together out in the open…respect to the both of you
Only 5 minutes in, and I had to stop just to say, I'm sorry. You guys are FAR too young for this to be dealing with this. I don't remember which of your channels I found first, but it led me to the other. Ever since, I've gone to you for the detail and background, and Benny for "the dramatics". (He would have RULED as an Audible narrator.) I thank you both for many years of enjoyment and escape via comics/movies. As someone who has "gone beyond" many friends, there is a special "guilt" with a roller coaster of sadness. Don't fall into the, "What ifs", and face "What was" to honor his memory is the best that I can offer. Not how long YOUR stages of grief should last. That will be unique to you. Blessings to you and your friends as you process your ways through your loss.
Benny got a send off from one of the most beloved, treasured voices on RU-vid... and one of his best friends none the less. God bless, Rob. Very well done. Hope you heal well.
It's so beautiful to see people love people so deeply and openly. The passion Benny put into his videos, I know he's proud of the emotion you showed us here talking about him. Thank you, C.E., for caring for people and for showing it.
You and Benny are the reason I fell in love with comics again. Thank you both eternally with all the hard work you two put into it. Benny will be fondly missed by all. So much love and care goes out to you and all of the ones Benny had an impact on ❤
Your strength and resilience may even surprise you. Benny was a hero to many and my childhood would be very different if I never discovered his channel and then yours. Thank you for undertaking this journey and thank you for continuing to honor his memory.
Benny was my comic book professor. I remember going through his entire Invincible series twice over. He was that good. Too good. He moved me to be better at life, not just comics. I have encyclopedias and would still be lost without his, and your, guidance. We all lost our hero, you lost a friend, but heaven has gained the loudest, most passionate angel. Time for the other angels to catch up on their comic book lore. I will miss THE Comicstorian forever. We all will NEVER forget, Ben ❤🩹🕊
Just started rewatching benny again after long time of not watching much comics stuff cuz of loss of interest but benny really brought me back with all the times I would watch the full story series like I’ve listened to the night wing full story video dozens of times while working on cars and the obvious stories like the injustice year 1-5 and the new 52 run of Batman but some of my favorites were when benny would do wholesome issues of Batman, Superman or Spider-Man with them doing things like the double date with Batman and Superman or how Superman would literally make a deal and lie to darkseid all to save a little girl that had nothing special to offer simply cuz Superman wants to save everyone no matter what and I’m ngl i was into comics for all the cool stuff but after reading those issues and hearing benny cover them i looked into other similar stories like the issue where Deadpool helps a suicidal girl or when Superman tells nightwing that he’s been a huge inspiration to him since despite all the pain behind Batman he was always a light of hope so with all that being said, Thank you benny for showing me that comics are for everyone and for reading my favorite issues dramatically back to me Rest In Paradise❤❤
Even though today feels bad, The fact that there is a community out there of folks like you and Benny that make comics come alive, where we feel the loss of each other. It also feels good. RIP Benny.
Levrithin what the hell is wrong with you a famous and wonderful person and one of the most pure hearted person literally tragically passed away three days ago meanwhile you are talking about having better content than him. You deserve to be banned and slammed by his fans. You literally have no subscribers and you are stealing content from another content creator talking about his death with little views that underneath your title saying "My content is better" well it's not. You are very disrespectful and disgusting.
You and Benny dragged me out of my depression. You provided an escape when my life was falling apart. Growing up your passions tend to take a backseat to your priorities, but you two managed to keep that part of many of us alive. When I clicked on a video talking about Spider-Man all those years ago I had no idea friends were waiting there on the other side of the screen. Thank you both, I’m sorry for everyone loss, because this is what it is… a loss. ❤
@logan-cooper764 THAT, wow... just, why? You are soulless. Apparently, you are simply a sociopathic narcissist. Don't be what you are being. It never ends well for those folks. 😮
You and Ben (Comicstorian) got me excited to get back into comics. The last 8 years i’ve been following the both of you and it’s been comfort channels. I’m so sad to hear about Ben and the comic world took a lost. Sending you love Rob. ❤
