Has anyone figured out how to change dynamic wallpapers? I'm not talking about the pre-installed ones, but to actually download a custom live wallpaper and apply it? I was able to do this easily with my Samsung S23 Ultra, but I can't with Oneplus 12

I have this phone and it's amazing. Two things I wish oneplus would change, the narrow aspect ratio and the curved edges. I wish the phone was a little bit wider. The phone is just too narrow and looks too small because of that. Especially for me coming from the galaxy note 20 ultra that had a massive screen. Also curved edges make it so hard to find a good screen protector. Other than that, the phone is fantastic and I've been enjoying it very much.

2:26 even me myself never have a phone with curved screen and regardless of sooo many comments/tweets regarding how much people (including tech reviewers) hate curved screen, I still find that it is beautiful and looks more premium in contrary to flat screen. That’s why I was disappointed when Samsung made decision to discontinue the trend that they’ve pioneered for this year’s Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Could you do a camera specific review of the 4 hasselblad cameras.

Nice review, but I would like to know what settings use when you do your speed test. Like do you have high performance mode turned on the One Plus? Do you have the animation speed set to fast? Or do you just leave it on the default settings. I've seen Nick Ackermans speed test and he shows the difference and it's super fast. I find it hard to believe it's the OS version that's causing a slow down in speed. Especially when the One plus 11 is beating another 8 gen 3 phone. Also with the throttling was high performance mode on? I agree, I'm just curious because I haven't heard of it doing that to that degree.

In fact, the 10Pro only had the ip68 rating on the T-Mobile models. However, the standard factory unlocked models didn't offer the certification. Although, every OnePlus flagship device is built with the equivalent of an ip68 rating. They do not pay for the certification because, it adds a substantial cost of over $100 to every device. T-Mobile insisted on the ip68 rating along with removing dual SIM card support.

It actually is water resistant, ip65 which means it's ok to spray with water but not submerge. There is however a video of it being submerge for 5 minutes and surviving just fine.

Right noq im using the s9 and the curved screen only bothers me when part of my palm is touching the side of the screen but i get over it.

Thank you for not following the crowd ! A lot of paid people by Apple. It should be a conflict of interest. But with that said, I love a curved phone. It is one of the reasons I'm eyeing this phone. I just need more video and picture test. When I mean video, I mean fast panning video.

I did speed test far away from router on 7t & 12r (16gb/256gb). 7t: 5.47/4.89. 12r: 130.5/24.9. Then, with high performance mode, 12r: 239.2 / 30.5 upload. Great download improvement. Surprised upload didn't increase much on high performance mode...Con, impossible to apply graduate discount at checkout. Been getting run around for weeks. Customer service sucks.

why i disklike the curved screen is the difficulty of finding good tempered glass screen protectors. but, I haven't let it stop me from buying this awesome phone

For camera the Vivo X100 pro for around the same price I feel is the best on the market. Even when I did I blind rest with S24 ultra pixel, 8 pro, I phone 15 pro max, OP12. That includes video as well. Thinking of importing one.

Oneplus 12 has a IP 65 rating which isn't as good as flagship phones but for the price it's adequate and people claim to not like curved displays because of how hard it is to find aftermarket screen protectors for them are and the difficulty putting them on personally I love them because they are much more comfortable in my hand

Oneplus cameras are never good out of box. Pretty much every sensor is new. 6 months and it will be superb. Samsung and Apple use same sensors for years and years. Obviously they are better calibrated out of the box.

OnePlus does secure their devices with water resistance, they don't pay for the "license" to list it, which makes sense to save them money and ultimately the customer. With or without IP rating, I don't use my phones near water so the IP rating is nice to have, but as long as the physical protections are there to help prevent issues from rain, splash, spill. then it is all good.

I paid $599 when I pre-ordered at OnePlus with all the discounts. Did you turn on High Performance mode to run your speed tests?

Camera review is way off, Pixel 8 side by side is worse than this. And it trades blows with S24 Ultra. Watch the camera side by sides, i have a Pixel 8 myself and am super impressed vs my OnePlus 12!

I was in bestbuy and I was using what I thought was the one plus 12 until I realized I was using the 12r the whole time. I was like “the cameras look worse then I was expecting, one plus 12 has better cameras then this” until I realized I was using the wrong phone whole time lol. But the experience was still amazing on the 12r though, I was shocked it had an 1440p screen. But I’m saving up for the 12 for the better camera, this is coming from an ex galaxy note 8 user and a current iPhone 13 Pro Max user, because iPhones aren’t my cup of tea. I have the AirPods Pro 2 and o hope the experience won’t be much worse then it is on iPhone with the one plus when I buy it one day(whenever I at least get a job and get paid). I prefer it over the s24 ultra because it just feels off this year. I don’t know. The screen is just as sharp as the s24u but I prefer it to the ultra because of the more vibrant popping colors and I miss the curved screen look. It felt like I was using the galaxy note 8 again on the one plus more then the s24 ultra which is a better competitor. Sadly I didn’t have enough time to use the 12. If only I knew the 12 was right there the whole time

Put it in performance mode. You'll see big difference. Its in battery settings

How you ssy the camera 8s not as good as the s24u or the Pixel 8 pro without showing proof. I just watched a video of the OnePlus 12 beating a s24u. Also you say it loses value fast which is not true either. All phone loses value after they are used, OnePlus phones has been holding its value very well.

if you see/hear his complaints about this phone you'll see/hear the reason why i bought it. his complaints are minor AT BEST. i HAVE the violet s24 ultra but i haven't used it yet. heck i haven't even opened its shipping box yet. i'm waiting for my flowy emerald 16/512 oneplus 12 to come. i like oneplus products, had the 8 pro and 10 pro and still have, LOVE and use the oneplus 7 pro as i LOVE that all screen experience.

I've the 12R. Ergonomically, it's a load of bollocks. Swapping the volume control and switch sides has caused a major pain. My previous phone was a OP6, where it could be operated in the left hand comfortably, Thumb operating Volume and Forefinger rear Fingerprint Sensor. Right hand doing the screen finger poking and writing or taking notes. OP12R is a waste of space in the left hand. It needs one hand to hold and one to operate the on screen fingerprint sensor, has to placed down or held in the left whilst the right does the poking or writing. What dickhead signed off this design?

Maybe you should put the phone in performance mode, use the dedicated gaming software that loads with games and actually play. Having this device and having used the S24 ultra, I've seen it's far more fluid to use and the smoothest device I've ever used when navigating. Compared to the galaxy gaming provides a cooler experience (less heating up) better graphics, better stability and far less throttling. Then again if you can't be bothered to set the phone up and actually play games, it's not surprising you only get the results you seem to be cherry picking. A very disappointing review, this device is so much better than you imply. Shame you didn't test properly and clearly just relied on gaming benchmarks.

In December 2020 i bought OnePlus 8T+, I'm still using 8T+. After 8T+ got paid off i downgraded to the 7T Pro McLaren Edition in December 2021. I had 12 times dream of 7T pro McLaren Edition so that's why i bought 7T pro McLaren. I don't like punch hole. I don't use front selfie camera, i don't take selfies. I prefer full screen & i don't mind curved screen. My dad's sis said she will buy my 8T+ at $200 in USA. Nobody bought my 8T+ at $250.

I want this phone but I'm afraid of the thickness. I prefer a wider but thin phone than a thicker phone
