I love the perspective of Mickbell portraying Chilchuck as some greedy money grubber, when, if you think about it, he's a guild (union) representative just asking for union fees, protecting his fellow working class half-foots, while Mickbell is a genuine, honest to god scab

@@ma.2089 Oh yeah, Mickbell is a young lad who had his share of traumatic experiences, he's got good reason to be untrusting. Won't go into details for those who haven't finished the manga/read the comfy extras. It's just a perspective on his character I find funny.

iirc chilchuck is even the halfling union founder, and the main reason halflings aren't treated as disposable in dungeon crawling in the island anymore. so yeah doubly silly

Kabru is definitely a very complicated, driven young man and his whole party act as great foils to the main cast. Also, with a red hoody Alana could low-key cosplay Rin with nearly zero effort!

Kabru is lowkey highkey such an important character to... so many things in this story, I adore him. Both him being a fun foil to Laios, his own perspective on the Touden twins making us think about things, and obviously spoilers about his perspectives and opinions later on in the story. I think his character is where this plot truly starts shining through just how deeply the writer cares about people and their relationships.

Delgal is the king who came out of the dungeon, promised his country to the person who will defeat the lunatic magician and turned to ash (info from the first episode). We also see him in the living paintings, first as a newborn child, then getting married and losing his father, then becoming the new king. At all this moments of his life the lunatic magician was close

Does he really tho? He does want to conquer the dungeon but he’s also always the first person to be like “nah, we losing” lol Even at first Rin had to tell him to be confident they’d win after the lunch.

I love kabru. He's pretty righteous, and can be quite extreme, but what he said makes sense, to me at least. He handles business, no nonsense lol. And of course, he's very personable. Technically, our guys did take their treasures, which they then threw down the abyss (remember that part when senshi said you can't eat real gems?) And they also took their food (iirc it was barley or something). It has fallen out into the water, which laios and chilchuck picked up (same episode where they killed the kelpie i think).

Quite a few other reactors have already noted that Kabru is the exact opposite of Laios. One is the master of every human aspect (physiology and psychology) and can easily manipulate other people or defeat other people, but repeatedly gets butt kicked by monsters; one is the master of everything monster but has zero interest in humanity and does poorly with people. Rin was emphasizing not grouping all the Easterners together, because judging from her name she's likely from a Chinese-equivalent society while Shuro's group was from a Japanese-equivalent society.

Lios is experty for creatures and only cares about it. On other hand, Kabru is expert for human. And doesn't gives a shit about monsters , even hate them too. Lios know how to fight against monsters very well. Unlike Lios, Kabru is powerful fighting against human.. What a complete opposite

It’s the boy A lot of ppl don’t really like Kabru, and I think it’s really cool to have a character implied autistic (I’ve also seen ppl argue OCD too) with high masking abilities. And also he’s highly implied to be fantasy Nepali/Indian so double cool.

I love subbed. But I feel like this show is better in English. Being that I don’t speak Japanese Lios’ autism doesn’t come across. Because he is, at least in my mind.

Makes sense cuz the VA for the English dub is autistic. And some ppl have said Kabru’s VA adds a bit of an Indian accent (imma be real tho, I do not hear it). But also don’t get what you mean by “he doesn’t sound autistic” in Japanese. He’a autistic without a doubt, but what does his eng performance do that the jp can’t? I think the main reason I watch sub is cuz I adore Marcille’s and Chilchuck’s voice in sub more than dub.
