I’m not quite sure what’s so wholesome about literacy

I don't care for the song much in general. But I especially hate how in the prologue version during the stage musical he's basically like "you'll be able to walk and run like everyone else, Crutchie!!" like NO he WON'T don't LIE to the boy!!

Blink and Mush is literally like the only ship fanfic I would read lol. Also don't care for love interests ever because, again, not into ships, so I don't really like Katherine either. Sarah just feels like she doesn't even have a purpose in the story

@@anyanaylor oh sarah absolutely has no purpose in the story but i despise katherine bc she is like the kingpin of the shift from anti-classism in the story to old people cause problems as the thesis. the weirdest thing for me was always when ppl in fandom shipped katherine and sarah?? i get the desire for lesbians but ??

Kathrine on the other hand, she was literally only in their for feminisum and plot convince. Apparently nobody treats her differently. Bc she's a girl. And she's sassy, oh course she's sassy cause that's what woamn were like in 1899. Also she's Pulitzers daughter for some reason. And don't *Even* get me started on the fact that they took away an entire scene with Jack and the refudge and the newsies helping him escape and that scene with Davey and him in the Alley. Yea they took all that away just so Jack and Kathrine could have their damn kiss. Also she gets her own song now!? Why didn't racetrack get his own song, I mean I guess it was king of New York but that wasn't just him. But Kathrine gets her own song!? Broadway just took Denton and Sarah and made them kissand i hate it. Also why do ppl love Broadway racetrack so much? Movie racetrack is literally one of my comfort charecters (not tryna sound weird) excuse my rant but it had to be said 😭🤠

@@Chaos_Fantasmic i agree sm. katherine was a rich character in “our side” so that we could shift the issue away from capitalism and make rich broadway ppl comfortable. i also dislike how they really took down kid blinks character in addition to racetracks, especially since kid blink irl did a lot of the work credited to jack in the musical and movie

Blamket waas named by the TNC (Tumbler Newsies Community). NML (Newsies Mailing List) named him Slider. At the reunion, the actor, Brian Friedman, said his name was Carzy Legs. NO one will ever use that name. He was in the very beginging of the Sieze the day reprise, the one Bumlets was leaning on. He was also the last to leave the nun's, and people also say he was the boy 'Patrick' the mom was singing about, because they look identical. mayday321[2] Usage of the name Slider is supported by a profile on the Newsies-Sim Home Page, which was active in 2000. He is identified by his appearance in "Seize The Day," as mayday321 referenced.[3] The Happy Newsie Minivan suggests that the name Slider came from fan Snickery.[4] TNC, the blog mayday321 cited as the origin of the name Blanket, has gone offline now, but a post was archived from September 2011 which provides a similar background.[5] You surely recognize Blanket. Many have speculated that Blanket is Patrick and one backstory is that he is indeed Patrick. Well how can he stand next to his mother then? Good question. Many say that his mother is blind. Blanket is played by Brian Friedman, who is now a respected choregraper. He was at the Newsies reunion and is quoted as saying that on set his character’s name was Crazy Legs.
