I LOVE my 25/50 ! I bought this guitar new in March of 1979 from E.U. Wurlitzer's in Boston, MA. Beautiful feel, great sustain. Heavy like a brick though!!! S.O.B.'s kept my belt buckle! I didn't know any better, I was only 18 at the time.
That brown switch cover might be correct. Idk when they started with that but i had an 80 Kalamazoo made and it had brown, as did the KM. It might be different from the control caviry plate because they didnt use the normal LP plate.
Either the pickup is hot or too high that it overdriven the amp even on clean settings. I always love this model because it was birth in my birth year, 1978
Well neck and middle position sound pretty crappy. Even though you adjusted it, it still sounds pretty muddled. I know you won’t have any trouble selling it because it’s a very beautiful instrument.
Guitar Whisperer!! If there was one, Trogly would be it. Which leads me to the Sustain Sisters; what is the most resonant part of the guitar? While we meditate on that, there has to be a way to raise/lower pups while playing, no screwdriver. Anyway, good luck on the other colors. ♫ Ü
No, there were multiple variations back then. I forget how many and how they were named. These ones are definitely the higher output version! I own a modified The Paul with an early 80s Tarback and it matches quite well with the original T-top.
beautiful guitar, im sure very expensive. when i buy a guitar les pauls especially i buy them to play not hang them on the wall. these guitar would look much better with blonde plastics than black.
@@joermnyc I think the point being made is that 3,400 would be an estimate. 3,411 is an exact number (with zero digits of 'roughness') and therefore, not an estimate. 😁
Ah, you dog you. I have always wanted one of those. I want to hit you up for a guitar once a certain something goes through. Shouldn't be much longer, couple two three months. I will figure out how to contact you then. I already have a few Gibsons, owned by me for a long time, but I want a new toy. LedHed Pb 207.20 🎶 🎸 🎹
@Trogly...I have a March of 1978 version of this model, tobacco sunburst as well. May I ask...what did yours self for? I looked on your website but it isn't there, so it must have sold...? I'm thinking of selling mine, and interested in knowing a recent sales value. Thanks in advance. :)
Fine tuning in the tailpiece was actually invented back in 1919, over a hundred years ago, on violins. So giving Floyd Rose/Kahler credit for them isn't quite correct 😊
Yeeeeeeeaaaaaaa….. id be afraid to drop it or something………. I dont want a guitar im afraid to play…. If its too good to get a ding its too expensive for me….
@@johnm3946 my guitar budget is about 2k…. After that you aren’t really paying for more playability……. Just bling and other shit…. 2k is the point of diminishing return…. IMO of course….
I think the TP6 tailpiece looks really good. Always love Les Paul customs. But these special ones, especially with the inlays, are really beautiful guitars.
Are there any manufacturers that make keystone tuner buttons that look like the ones on Gibsons from the 70s into the late 80s? These tuner buttons are rounded on the top edge where the screw head is located, whereas most modern day keystones have a flat edge where the screw head sits. It's a nitpicky detail but I've looked for a long while for anyone that makes the old style keystone buttons without any luck.
@Trog I know, but nothing beats a ," failure" ,but a,"try" Peace man love your show. Maybe u can showcase my collection one day. I have all sg's including a brand new double neck. Oooh I have the one 335 without the eff holes. I believe u have the same one with the outerspace paint job. I'm in the Midwest also. Peace
I played one of these tears ago, and loved it, but when I came across it I was not able to afford it But if I could have afforded it, it would have come home with me. It was the best guitar I had played at that time, and one of the best ever On the other hand, if I had bought it I likely wouldn’t have my Iceman or Mustang, and I love those two as well, so it worked out okay But if anyone feels inclined to gift me one, well I would not refuse it
Personally I believe they word vintage has been overused to the point that some believe they're getting an actual vintage guitar instead of what is in effect a reissue or tribute. O get that many or finished on a vintage style but it doesn't make it vintage in the true sense of the word.
Technically, anything over 20 years old is considered vintage. We tend to think any guitar over 25 years old is truly vintage. A 40+ year old guitar would definitely qualify as vintage by any standards.
I don’t think that this guitar is more beautiful than a custom one; a custom one looks more harmonious and attractive. This anniversary guitar looks like a guitar from some maker, not a factory one, you look at it and think "there's something wrong with this guitar." As for the sound, it's great
Trogly, i took a few months off and i swear, your playing seems to have gotten a lot better in a short time!! Not like you needed improvement...🙂 Just fyi. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication!
Must be one heck of a guitar you're buying to part with this one. It's quite a guitar...very few in this condition. I'll look forward to seeing whatever it is.
