I bought a Gen 1 twenty some years ago, I bought a Gen 2 ten years or so ago, bought the Gen 3 just like yours a year or so ago. Many other new bikes came and went over that time but you always need to have a KLR standing by to enjoy. I tried to pre-order the next one for 2030 but the dealer said we would both be in our 80s then so he wouldn't do it , so I guess I will just have to wait, 😀

Make a unique choice please. The whole world is out on modded CRF300 Rally's or T7's loaded with accessory's. The way I see it, is that you made a unique channel by choosing the KLR and doing things with this bike 90% of the people wouldn't do with it. That is what is intriguing! Keep it original!

Whatever bike you choose will keep the viewers intrigued. It's your shredding riding style and laid back attitude that make this channel. I have had lightweight dual sports and heavy ADVs and have the crf rally now. Mods are a must but no other dual sport offers the flexibility of this motorcycle. There's a reason the riding community continues to search for that lightweight option as most adv bikes get more tech and more weight.

Yeah, this dude gets the absolute most out of a bike. I think it’s a matter of heavy vs light. I will say that he gets a lot done on a heavy bike. He might want to go T7. The counter is there are probably more people looking at crf300’s. It’s a tough choice! Either way, I’m subbed!

This is the only adv-capable small-mid sized dual-sport widely available at a good price in the US right now. I've been on a waitlist for a CRF300 rally for a few months and I've nearly grabbed the kawa a few times -- at what would have been lower prices. I've held back because as a returning rider and geezer, I think I should go lower weight -- and if I were going to go up in weight, I figured I'd just grab a Tuareg. Not sure the latter is a wise beginner/returner bike though.

Of course I remember your KLX300 video. That’s why I have one in the garage. 😊 The Yamaha extreme looks like it would be able to go most places the lil 300 rally would go but still do the highway miles nicely. I’ve been intrigued by the 690/701 enduro bikes as well. Great all-rounders, a bit more challenging on the long road miles but capable. Your right about the Transalpine from what I’ve heard in the early stages. That would be my short list from the bikes you mentioned. Since we can still get them, I still want to scratch the DR650 itch. What Im seriously considering is the KTM 390 Adventure. Spoked wheels in the 2023 models and the bike seems like a hoot. Honorable mention to the BMW G310GS, if it is modded out with Rally Raid type tires and suspension. It’s a great time for choosing a good all around bike that can do most of the adventure style riding. Might be the eye of the storm with all the traction electric cars and bikes are getting. I’ve thought of a way for you to have multiple bikes in the garage. Royal Enfield. You could have a road bike in several ranges and a Himalayan. Could wear many hats do bike gatherings, city rides and tackle the dirt. Just a thought, they’re cheap to buy and service, or maybe RE could loan you a couple testers.
