Utterly beautiful. True jazz, real music, formidable talent from all three musicians. So very different from much of today's plastic falsity. Thank you so much for this.
What three geniuses are brought together for this beautiful song by the Gershwin brothers. Andrea, now in her full vocal and artistic maturity, sings with admirable style and feeling. And her corporal expression, her face, her gestures... one enjoys listening to her as much as watching her sing. Maestro Terraza, as always, giving lessons in technique, class and talent. One of the best pianists in the world of jazz, no doubt about it. And Scott on sax, what can I say at this point ... a great among the greats, who seems to have found his "semi-retired" paradise among the youngsters of the Chamorro milieu a decade ago. Fantastic.
I have been a professional musician since 1970 and this trio holds it's own as being one of the all-time best trios that I have ever heard. Bravo to each person !
aNdrea continues to amaze! She has made incredible improvements in her singing. She has complete control and is very impressive yet she brings magic into the song with her own presence. Andrea continues to integrate herself into jazz. Her own style is starting to emerge. I love it!
YES ,, you say what I thought .. they play .. so I feel happy .. greetings from Sweden,, in Roslagen .. if any been there ? be happy ..Björn heter jag !
Yep. World class. Scott of course, but Andrea at this stage is now able to go global. Both super reliable at their lofty level. But Ignasi is my secret jazz piano genius. He's often trying little things that surprise and catch you off guard. Maybe they don't always work, but how could they with real risk taking? Ignasi expands Jazz space quietly and often...
Linda versão. Andrea tem só uma dificuldade: I loves you... ela resiste à letra original, em dialeto. Mas, que bobagem, é tão lindo ouvir essa versão. Pura entrega dos três, bela captação de imagens.
One very small point - the correct words are 'I loves you, Porgy' not 'I love you...'. This was deliberately bad English on the part of Gershwin. However this does not distract from this marvellous rendition, it now tops my previous favourite by Nina Simone.
love this performance and the way it was recorded. It sounds blending together perfectly. I would love to know which setup was used to record this song in such an excellent way.
I thought this was OK - nice, but not great. The best part for me was Scott's solo. Andrea can really blow you away, she's done it to me many times, just not here. But that's fine, I'm glad others like it.
