There is a difference between not having the social skills, the looks or the popularity to date, and simply choosing not to date as a 24 yo beautiful and successful actress. I’m not trying to be mean, but there is absolutely the average person cannot compare themselves to her.
Yeah same.. In the Western countries ppl like us label us as nuns.. I've dated and feel more comfortable around guys but so far guys have appreciated that I haven't slept with anybody cuz they feel it shows discipline n standing strong with one's own principles..

Exactly! Dating in the Midwest is a lot mor like that imo. You date after you get to know someone through other means than dating. Like through friends or church or from seeing them often somewhere. You ask for the date to begin a relationship.
I wonder if this is why some of us (women and girls, although maybe some men and others feel this too) don't get dated, because we're built for the marriage where we stay at home and if we do go out it isn't a date but an adventure or something else we needed or we can do thing separately and talk about it later, keep romance private, or even it doesn't truly bother us if it's not movie epic, but we just want emotional and physical safety. I haven't had a boyfriend because there just wasn't nice interest, but instead unkind interest. Then, after I left a bad friend group as much as I could, not many opportunities to meet guys and I never saw anyone online that seemed right for it.

Oh my gosh, I can totally relate to Saoirse in this interview so much. I’m almost 21 and I’ve never dated anyone before. I want to, but first in middle school and high school, I was in my awkward phase and I was a little pushy I guess, since I was desperate for a boyfriend like my friends had them and I wasn’t emotionally or mentally mature yet. But, I managed to let that desperation go and just focused on myself and my education and my mental health and I’ve matured now, and still no boyfriend yet. But I’m not gonna let that dictate my life and I’ll just wait until I least expect it and make a connection. But, yes, I can relate to Saoirse here, I’m turning 21 in two weeks and have never dated anyone before and no one’s ever had a crush on me before. 😂😂😂

She didnt mean she has never kissed or had sex with anyone before. That was obvious. What she meant is that she is not gonna go out with a guy she barely knows to get to know him better, she is gonna go out with someone she already knows and knows she wants to be with.
No I don't think it has to do with strangers vs friends. What she's saying is she doesn't know how to do the date game, she's not familiar with dating culutre in the american way: formal dinner ect. As someone who isn't American, I'm not familiar with it either, and I've had boyfriends before. In Europe dating is a lot more casual, like hanging out with friends in a bar vs the two of you going out somewhere formal.

Well, I must be thankful then because most of my favorite and ever super idols are living the luxurious life of being 'Single' which was REALLY rare in today's society. In my culture people usually only get arranged marriages. That boat has sailed though and it never really seemed that appealing to me anyway to have my mom choose who I marry. So I have to jump into the dating pool now, but I’m afraid 😬
