Here's a close look at 15 cards I've sent into PSA on their $15/card 1980s special. It includes 4 cards I'm re-submitting from my Nightmare Reveal Video (what am I thinking????) that I've cracked out of their slabs. Results will be shown in another blind reveal!

I had done a 1980's submission before I got my grades back on my 1960's-70's, so probably a few cards, I'm not as gung ho about after some of those grades, came back but like you said, it does have a fun element to it. I really like the Sandberg and the Canseco, I hope they get 10's!

I need start buying PSA 8s, cracking them and sending them to other graders. So many nearly perfect PSA 8s. Bargains abound

It was a lot easier to do that pre-pandemic. Might start coming back as an option with grading prices coming back down to earth.

I just did a preview video of 100 cards I am sending in on the 80's special, I have some of the same cards. The Kelly rookie is a tough one to get in high grade, I managed to get 2 10's out of 6 or 7 submitted. The 2 10's came directly from fresh packs I opened a little over a year ago. Thanks for watching - I'll definitely check out your video! As a Dolphins fan, I can't claim to have a lot of Kelly in my PC, lol. These are the first two I've ever subbed, but I do have a BGS 9.5 1987 Marino that I've held in comparison.

@@jbscardshow I say the same about Marino, I hated Marino during his early playing days because he would totally embarrass my Buffalo Bills, well at least up to the super bowl years. I was actually at the Bills-Dolphins game when Kelly finally broke that super long losing streak (like 20-30 games) and I now have lots of Marino slabs and a nice framed signed jersey on my wall. Both Kelly and Marino were one of the best during their time.

I have a BBCE sealed 1987 Topps football box. Should I open it or leave it sealed?

The Barry Sanders is like $35 in a PSA 9 and like $20 PSA 8. Doesn’t the grading cost nearly half of that? I don’t like what you are doing. The ceiling is so low, and the floor is low for a lot of those cards

I generally agree with you. As I mention a couple times, there's not much upside at all for me on this sub. It's honestly more of an exercise since I just didn't have a ton of 80s stuff to grade. I'm throwing my money away so you don't have to, lol. I'm seriously considering doing a more detailed breakdown of how I determine what to grade in the near future. Thanks for watching!
