Why did the monster wait for the Ranger to leave before its killing spree? If it's that powerful, why not just wait until the door was closed and gone ape shit? Did the thing specifically only want the hikers? Why? What difference does it make? For once, I have no theories that add up.

I love the uncanny valley predator theory, because even though it makes for an interesting idea in reality it’s because seeing another human was and continues to be one of the greatest threats you’ll encounter.

I want more stories set in this universe. I think it would be cool if we could see what they're like anatomically. Sure they look like us but we humans have an uncanny sense they aren't us but it's not as keen as our ancestors had it.
