YOOOOOO I was not expecting this😭😭 easily a 10/10 game. Ik you’re not a big fan of stealth games Dontai but It’d be so fun seeing you play the entire Metal Gear series after this especially since the HD Collecting is on the PS3 and a rerelease is coming out in a few months. Can’t wait to watch this when I get off work!!

Ok so lemme break it down, raiden is a cyborg with specialized legs he can attach his sword to You don't want to spam blade mode as it leaves you stationary, which is never good in a game like this When you get the triangle circle prompt, enter blade mode and go for the box that pops up, that's your healing

Your playing the Meme game. Btw here is a tip. Every time you counter with Raiden and launch them in the air with that blue tint across the screen you can swing your sword multiple times with rt or lt or your attack button or whatever. Once you slice into them enough times you can press a combination of buttons to pull out the Electrolytes inside them to heal your self and replenish your Blade Mode.
Best part about this game is that even though its on ps3 it has the best of both worlds. The graphics, gameplay, and the 60fps framerate make this an S Tier game
Dontai in this game you play as Raiden, which is a character in "Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty", "Solid Snake" is the main character of the og Metal Gear (80's games) and the Metal Gear Solid games, all of those play as stealth games, but i believe MGR: Rising Revengance was the first time that the franchise didn't focus mainly on stealth and instead went into the action hack and slash gameplay and story
NO WAYYYY, THIS GAME IS LEGENDARY!!! Also, yeah this game is connected with the MGS universe, but the gameplay is WILDLY different. The rest of the MGS games are Snake and all stealth stuff

Dontay here's the goods: Metal Gear franchise is primarily focused about Stealth which is why in the big letters of the game there's a small font title that is always written Tactical Espionage Game. This one you're playing is a SPINOFF...and it explicitly says Lightning Bolt Action.
Good to see you play this, it's gonna be hype and ridiculous in an Asura's Wrath kind way! I'm glad you eventually figured out the zandatsu, but I've got to admit it was a bit painful watching at first lol. A couple of tips: defense is EXTREMELY powerful in this game, mastering the block/parry is essential, it's a bit awkward at first, but basically when the enemy is winding up an attack on you, you tap your movement stick towards the enemy at the exact same time as you press the attack button, if you do this while they are attacking it will block, and if you do it with the best timing it will block then parry, but don't worry about timing too early because even if you don't get the parry it's very generous timing for the block, and it's better to block than eat the hit, on regular goons this will just be an instant zandatsu where you can kill them, you can literally kill them in one parry and a zandatsu so quickly. If you want a REALLY easy way to understand the block system, try this: enter an easy fight and ONLY tap your movement stick forward while simultaneously hitting the attack button repeatedly, don't hold the stick, just tap it in the direction of the enemy and press attack at the exact same time that you tap the stick forward., and you'll block ANY attack that they do, and if they aren't attacking then you will just hit them normally, do this a few times and you'll understand how it works much better. The only attacks you can't block are when the enemy flashes YELLOW, these are grab attacks and you just need to get away from (more on that later), red flashing attacks CAN be blocked and parried, but they are just indicating that it's a big attack that will od a lot of damage if it hits. you can buy a skill called Defensive Offense that activates by pressing X and Square together (A and X on Xbox) where Raiden does a little side hop and a slash at the same time, this is the only move in the game that has I-frames during the hop, this can be used to dodge grabs and attack the enemy at the same time, it can also dodge other attacks as well, but I'd say parries are still the better way to deal with most attacks because it either does big damage or sets up a zandatsu.
Just to put into perspective how cracked Sam is, he beat Raiden even though he was getting used to his new arm. Sam is mostly human, unlike Raiden, except for his arm that was cut off by Armstrong. When you fight against him the second time, the only reason why you can disarm him is because that is his robot arm. Also, Sam has fought Armstrong before and actually had a winning chance. He was fast enough to cut off Armstrong's arm before his nanomachines could defend it. Even though Raiden is cool, Sam is just cooler.
Just as an information about the Metal Gear Series: MGRR is a spin-off, where you play as Raiden, who got introduced in MGS2. The main series games are stealth shooter games. But I can see the confusion when never having played a Metal Gear game. Amazing video btw. Really enjoyed it! :)
