It's annoying how this entire games story is basically small bits of lore that don't really help explain much sprinkled with fan theories and speculation. Here's more speculation lmao: -For the paradox to be created, Six had to have dropped Mono in the first place, for the Thin man to exist at all. Meaning she had no idea he was the thin man, she was and always has been malicious -Thin Man used his younger self to free him from captivity and stop the paradox / loop from happening. But his younger self always kills him. -The tower was using the Thin Mans powers to feed off of the residents of the pale city. Distorting them and eventually consuming them (hinted at by all the empty clothing scattered about)

I don't think anyone should try to make definitive sense of the story. This nightmare world doesn't adhere to ordinary logic and isn't much concerned about explaining much including the creatures and history of the places we travel through. Everything is very abstract and dream-like. Which is fine and half the fun because as a developer you can just let your imagination go wild and create these amazing sequences. It's up to the players to interpret what was happening and come up with theories. Enjoyed your playthrough either way.

You have to remenber that since the begining of the game Mono has hide his face. When the Thin Man tooks Six, she probably saw his face. Then, Mono tooke of his hat to fight the Thin Man. When he met again with Six and she saw the face of Mono (when she hold he hand in the end), she realize that Mono is the Thin Man, then let he fall.

I've watched a few theories about the ending. This one video theorized that future Mono aka Thin man teleported back in time and tried to warn little Mono about Six and he basically captured her as revenge for her betrayal - and that Six knew that Mono was Thin man which is why she chose to betray him and let go

I think Thin Man was just trying to warn Mono from Six, trying to break the circle, but Mono kept saving her. And It's the tower that made him like that. And I don't know either Six discovered who Mono was when he put off his mask, or she only cares about herself and didn't need him anymore.

Welp, I guess that relationship is over, that's one nasty break-up! This game is fantastic and the ending is pretty insane. Basically, The Thin Man and Mono are one and the same and are stuck in an endless time loop. He goes back in time through the tvs to try and save himself from Six but fails every time.

THIS IS THE SUMMARY OF THE TRUE STORY; Actually, that geisha lady in the first game is the grown-up version of Six. Here's the thing... The hunger demon descends to this world and hides in the music box. She creates something like a ship, a cruiser, on which all humanity in the world will eat their food, resources and eventually themselves. . Like Smeagol under the influence of the ring, everyone is drawn to this Ship and they eat each other. Six is ​​actually affected by the demon and becomes corrupt because of this music box, but she resists hunger as long as she can.. She is not an obese who eats everything like other people (one of the 7 sins). She controls this demon urge to a great extent. Eating a field mouse shows how difficult this control is. Even if she finally completes her own story, she has to absorb the power of Geisha Lady because this demon will completely destroy the world with the curse of hunger. As the Geisha lady fought that demon. She killed Geisha Lady and took her place and her power.. Then she fights the demon.. We saw this.. While she is about to defeat the demon, the demon created a break in time and loops Six into a loop to avoid being defeated, making his past self do the same things.. Of course, the original Six growed up and being Geisha Lady's herself, and tries to stop Little Six from the past, but when Young Six cannot be stopped, the same things go into a loop. This cycle continues like this. Have you ever wondered why his name is Six? Because this is the 6th cycle. So in the next cycle, our little girl's name will be Seven, think like that. Six has to do these and defeat the demon in the final, otherwise the cycle will continue. So she has no other choice.. Just like mono.. There. (At the end of the 2nd game) Letting go of Mono is something Six has to do until she learns how to break the cycle. I mean, she doesn't let go Mono willingly. That intestine creature with eyes at the end of the 2nd game is this hunger demon itself. They (Mono and Six) couldn't defeat it and they were being followed. In order to start the sixth cycle from scratch, she has to leave Mono there, make him turn into Thin Man, and then go out that door and continue the cycle again in a suitcase. Until the demon is destroyed. I hope it was clear. I have summarized it very much and Because I explained it quickly..And my english is so bad..I hope I wrote it understandably :))

My interpretation: It’s not a time loop. There is always a Thin Man. Mono is just the most recent one. When Six was taken by the thin man, she lost an essential part of herself (her soul?). There is a secret ending if you collect all the glitching remains. This is a prequel, Six comes out of a TV with a pamphlet for The Maw nearby. She also has that hunger thing happen where her stomach growls. So she came back changed. Losing that essential part of herself makes her some sort of cannibal vampire like we saw in the first game. Fun fact: You hit the music box a total of SIX times. The same number of times you flashed The Lady with the mirror in the first game.

Seems like there's a gimmick with this series. In the first game Six defeats the last boss and became the replacement for that boss. In this game Mono defeats the Thin Man and later become the Thin Man. I wonder if this continues to the 3rd installment

well let's start off with the theory that Six Is the Geisha Lady, Mono actually makes an appearance in LN1 (hanging man) LN2 Mono is there trying to stop himself, the real question is did Six drop Mono to Create the Thin Man, or was dropping Mono her attempt at stopping Mono from becoming the Thin Man ?

Yeah, Mono and the Thin Man are the same person, but there's actually a recent theory that proposes that Thin Man came first as there's pictures in the art book that shows a character that looks like the Thin Man working a normal job (possibly as a detective looking into missing persons cases). The signal tower then corrupts this goal of searching for missing children to abducting them, which is why the Thin Man is capturing children in the comic to leave behind the glitched children you see in the game. As for Six, a secret ending reveals her Dark Six shadow, which is likely also the signal tower corrupting the target's previous hopes (like how the doctor still tries to function as a doctor despite doing more harm than good) and now Six is on a mission to seek out the Lady. Also, there's another prequel game, "Very Little Nightmares," that's a mobike game yet expands on the story even more.

If you find all the spirits, you get a short secret ending that says this is BEFORE LN 1. They went out of their way to show Six didn't drop you accidentally, she LET GO.

It's an endless loop :'( Mono called by Thin Man during the game from television and finally Mono reach the door, he frees himself and then Thin Man tries to stop Mono cuz he knew what will Six do to himself. And then he catches Six and make her prisoner in the Signal Tower. Poor Mono couldn't save himself from cruel Six :(

Katie six knew that the little guy (the thin man relative) has the same pover and this little one was the evil from the first we started but Six when she became a monster and after that she became a human ( the human form) I think she understood that the little guy is the next thin man. And more important thing is the little nightmares 3 will be release and maybe we will know that what happened on this game or we will more foxes on the Lady in the first game because we will get start to know what is her face like or what is going on and maybe we will find out what is she really. I know this ending is so crazy! But I think since she eats the gnomes and people and everything since normal food isn't enough for some reason, she dropped him BECAUSE she didn't want to kill her friend. Girl I was crying. 😭 But I think Six dropped him so SHE wouldn't eat him. And then since Mono (main character in Little Nightmares 2) didn't understand he wanted to come back for revenge or because he has a vendetta because he doesn't understand why six dropped him. don't try to fully understand this game, Katie :D i don't think the creators really bothered to make some super deep meaning haha, guess they were like "meh, let's put it that way...let the players make some crazy theories" :D

I feel like the The Thin Man (the main antagonist of LN 2) and the Tall man (a background object essentially in the environment from the first game) are one and the same! In the first game in one of the first rooms u enter is a tall man who has hung himself and his head is out of view and a chair in the middle of the room which Six needs to open a door ,a door with an eye on it, that leads to a hallway. There's also a letter on the ground probably a suicide note. In LN 2 the eye is facing the hallway watching the player(Mono) move towards it. In LN 1 it's facing the room watching the player(Six) move towards it. If this is true Mono was trapped in a tortuous cycle of running for his life, betrayal, imprisonment in an eldrich horror's bowels, and finally trying to kill Six and MAYBE himself. The game starts with Mono exiting a TV so maybe when the Thin Man catches Mono he resets the cycle without him having to take on the mantle of the little nightmare of LN 2. But the Mono you played as was able to Break the cycle by killing himself. It's dark and depressing but possibly true...

The Thin Man hasn't killed anybody he was stuck in that room for years until mono open the door at the end of the game letting him out and he knows that 6 will betray mono so he was after 6 cuz if it wasn't for 6 he would have never been the Thin Man 6 has always been evil remember in the first game where she eat the gnome she is the true little nightmare

After i beat little nightmares 2 i went back and played the dlc fot little nightmares 1 and that DLC has little nightmares 2 DNA all through it.

What's up Katie one of your biggest fans is good to see you back to explain this okay here goes bear with me now this is a prequel before the first one there's another game came out before this one kind of underground and that game the girl who saved six had the raincoat on she died because a monster attack with her in the water and she drowned it that's why six treasured that raincoat so much then that's when this happened she tried to get the raincoat and it came across the Hunter's house that's why the Hunter got her and she was in there for a while at his house that's when this started the thin Man I don't think it's a bad guy he's trying to stop six think about it out on the first one she got those powers she was going down evil direction anyway because that music box also here's an Easter egg if you go back and play the first one when she was feasting on the rats or the norm you saw a dark shadow of her watching technically I think she's going to be something in the future and the thin Man was trying to stop it from happening it's kind of like that movie Loopers sort of so I just keep an open mind about this LOL

I found myself disappointed by the ending, especially with the inclusion of a temporal paradox as time travel doesn't seem to fit in with this world. But, when virtually nothing is explained in the games I suppose everything is up for grabs. Little Nightmares is a world of literal nightmare logic and a terrified childs perception of a frightening and dangerous world
