Same, it doesn't even have to be a branded one. Just any controller (assuming it works well) will do.

I have the same problem. I love collecting controllers for my switch. So far i have all 8 bitdo controllers. My latest one though. Is the arcade/fighting stick from 8bitdo. Highly recommend. I mostly use it for my retro platformers.

Very cool! I always wanted a fighting pad and since 8bitdo makes it im very confident with the quality. However what i truly want from 8bitdo is the new retro keyboards plus the superstick and giant buttons that look so goofy.

Awesome! I do love the ps5 controller too BUT the battery life kinda makes me sad however with all the features it has then its worth the shorter battery life. Also the steamdeck controls are amazing too. The touchpads are just chefs kiss

You're not the only one, there should be Controller Anonymous meetings. I have close to three dozen mixed from custom built to hoarded back to Atari 2600. It's a problem.

@@BoredMindsThinkAlike And that’s after giving away six to friends as gifts because I needed to make room for more (I was on a custom built binge, half my collection I customized myself; just kept building custom pro controllers until I stopped cause it got expensive).

Hi friend! Whats your preferred gaming platform? In general, I would really recommend the xbox series controller. Its my fave controller because of the comfortability of the general shape and also the diagonal thumbsticks are good for all modern games.

3:37 stop the cap, the switch has the worst D-pad of any Nintendo controlers. The xbox controller lacks a gyroscope, every other controller has one, exept the one for the "FPS console"
@BoredMindsThinkAlike
@BoredMindsThinkAlike 2 месяца назад
Fair enough. Which nintendo controller would you say has the best dpad? Also, i didnt really mention gyro control for any of these controllers which is my fault my apologies. I just think that the switch pro controller (with its short travel L plus R triggers) could be a good alternative for Fps games (great if you already have one then its another use case) to other fps focused elite controllers like the xbox elite 2 or flydigi with adjustable triggers which are 2x price ( but i know these premium controllers are definitely worth the price too with all their extra features). The reason why the xbox is my favorite despite having no gyro is just essentially its form and ergonomics. I can play on this thing for hours without my hands cramping up 😅

@@BoredMindsThinkAlike Nintendo usually has the best d-pads in the market (normal for the companie that invented them). However, the switch is the exeption to the rule: the joycons doesn't have a real d-pad and the pro controller lacks the marble in the center. In consequence your easily input another direction, while pressing another one, by slightly tilting the d-pad to this side, so you're going to another direction than the one you pressed (it made me lose so much F-zero 99 games). In my opinion the best d-pads belongs to the Wii-U: it's like the switch pro d-pad, but it works as intended and it's slighly larger. For FPS and aiming in general, gyro controls allows the same level of precision as kbm and is WAY better than just sticks (that litterally needs aimbot to be viable). In that regard, any controller with motion controls is better at FPS than the series controller (even the Wiimote-nunchuck, dualshock 3 or even the PLAYSTATION MOVE are better than it). But many controller have the same layout as the xbox, including the switch pro controller. Every good controller with a gyroscope and a potentiometer can work, but in my opinion the best ones are the switch pro controller, hori and 8bit-do premium controllers (basicaly any controler with gyro and digital triggers). In general the Wii-U gamepad is the best controller for everything, it has all the features you can imagine and the screen is uderrated. People don't realize the many utilities of a second screen.

@@Luxius_8 I have never owned a WII U so I don't have any experience using it but you raise a good point. I just looked it up and yeah the WiiU does seem to have the better dpad compared to the switch pro controller. Plus the added benefit of the second screen is unmistakably a great feature too. I wonder if there's a way to use it on pc ( maybe with like a 3ds emulator). As far as the gyro controls, I do remember trying out gyro with doom 2016 on the switch and it sure does help a lot. Just that little nudge of precision just to get a little more accurate is noteworthy and I failed to mentioned that in the video. What is your opinion on the xbox elite style controllers on the market with removable joysticks (to adjust height for fps) also the back paddles which can be great for fps ganes ad well as you can prioritize the use of your thumbs for better aiming. Could having back paddles, adjustable trigger stops, and replaceable thumbsticks have an edge against motion controls? Also can the comfortability of the xbox controller shape win over the large size of the wii u gamepad? I havent held a wii u gamepad ever so I am curious because ergonomics is really important with my aging hands. 😭
@Luxius_8
@Luxius_8 2 месяца назад
@@BoredMindsThinkAlike The Wii U is great, it is a better Wii, wich is a better Gamecube, it is even backwards compatible to both (you can natively play GCN games, but you need to mod the Wii U to do it and you need the GCN adapter to use the controllers). It also have less input lag than the switch. The Wii U gamepad is pretty comfortable, it's like the switch with the accessory you presented but slightly bigger and with a more comfortable layout for its shape (the only gripe I have is the HOME button, but you don't use that all the time). The buttons are rounded and feels way better and more responsive than the switch pro controller. The gamepad also has many more features: NFC reader (amiibo), 240p camera, a stylus (hello Mario) and a TV remote (this is not a joke, there is a dedicated TV button). The only thing it doesn't have over the switch pro controller is HD rumble. The Wii U pro controller is basically the gamepad without the features in the shape of a regular controller, it also conects to the Wii U like a wiimote. However it doesn't have a gyroscope and in Splatoon's splitscreen multiplayer you litterally needed to tie it with a wiimote to have motion controls (the game itself and this method to play are also canon to the Splatoon lore). Gyro controls is simply better than sticks (like I said: sticks need aimbot to be viable), it also doesn't need the backpedals to do an action while aiming, since you aim by turning your controller. The pedals are just a bonus that gyro players can also use. In a 1v1 between a gyro user without flickstick and a stick user with backpedals (raw input, no aim assist, also both have equal skill), the gyro user wins everytime, since motion controls are stick controls+gyroscope. And that's without flickstick, where the right stick is basicaly a top-down view of your pov and controls your camera's horizontal movements. Concerning the sticks, it only depends on your preferances. If you want higher or larger sticks, you can buy cheap addons rather than an overpriced controler, but that's just my opinion. However, the best sticks are on the Original N64 controller (yes, the best analogue sticks are on the first controller to have them); instead of using potentiometers it uses optical discs, wich is way more precise and doesn't decay (no drift), however it's more pricey than potentiometers so everyone abandonned it.

@@Luxius_8 interesting. I learned so much with your input. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Moving forward, If I ever buy new pro ish controllers, Iwill for sure take note of the gyro feature like you said and hopefully maybe feature it in a video or two and how much better will I improve in overwatch 2 for example if I utilize the gyro assist (i dont think aim assist is available in Overwatch 2 PC version) as opposed to just using for example an xbox controller. I'm also interested in maybe purchasing a pro or elite controller with hall effect sensors too (I'm curious whether or not if hall effect joysticks are more accurate than just the traditional potentiometer ones or maybe less accurate than optical discs like as you said with the n64 controller. Now honestly this makes me want to do a deep dive into controllers and all the ways to calibrate and make them better. I appreciate your comments greatly as I am always willing to learn. I am crossing my fingers in hopes to find a good deal on a used Wii U. Haha
