Five years ago, in 2007, my friend Michael O'Brien asked me to help him write a song for the Southeast Christian Church Easter Pageant... Here was his pitch... "I need you to write the lyrics to a song that would capture what Mary, mother of Jesus, was thinking and feeling after His crucifixion, but before his Resurrection..... O.K..... Go." Can you imagine heavier material?!? After a great deal of prayer, we put together "I'm Asking Now", which was a pivotal moment in the Pageant. With Ronald Owens' orchestral arrangement and the stellar vocals by the actress who played "Mary" (Whose name I've lost, but would very much like to give credit for her emotional performance), here is the end result....
