Dear Pastor Bob: I'm at a low point in my life. I've suffered from depression and anxiety since the age of 15. I've lived with it for 41 years. I've done it by sheer willpower. I feel cutoff from God. I felt close to Christ before this happened. I'm getting so fatigued from trying to deal with it every day. I'm not suicidal, but I feel like I'm living a wasted life. I feel like God doesn't care. I've prayed so much, over the years. I've prayed for God to heal me. I've prayed for relief. Nothing seems to happen. I've seen counselors. It hasn't helped. They just don't seem to get it. I take medication for it, but the emptiness remains. I decided to reach out to you, because I respect you more than any other Christian I know. I don't expect you to fix me. I would just appreciate your perspective on this.
