True story: I work from home and adore you as an office mate. I don’t know if long, rambling videos are easier to edit or not, but I would totally watch them, especially while I’m working. Realistic plant jungle+amazing personality=winning for me.

It's easy to think that making a job out of the thing/hobby you love will be the perfect job. I'm happy for you that you were able to step back and see it wasn't working for you. As part of your audience I would hate the idea of anyone doing YT full time because they had to and not because it brings them joy. Your health and well-being come first. Quality over quantity. I watch so many plant people and they’re always saying that they don’t know what to talk about or always worried about low viewership. But they HAVE to put out something to make money. Doesn’t seem worth it. Post when you want, what you want. I certainly will watch.

I just want to give you the biggest hug 🤍 After more then 15 years on RU-vid I stopped making videos. I got a job in November and decided that I had to give up two of my four companies to remian human and not be a robot that just works 24/7. It´s REALLY HARD having your own company not matter what it is. The plant community isnt what it used to be like in 2020. Many of the people that came to this community because of the pandamic has now left. So living on a RU-vid channel that only makes plant content is really hard. Always do what feels right for you Kevin. I love your personality so I think it sounds like a great idea only posting when you feel like it 🥰

Kevin, you will drive yourself crazy trying to be all things to people. As humans, we are a fickle bunch. They say that you have to play the game to be successful. Bravo to you for taking a stand. When you look at RU-vid trends in the plant community, you have to ask what's unique, and you can count on the same topics of 1. Big Box Store Shopping 2. Monthly Reset. 3. Plants I Don't Like. 4. Plant Favorites. 5. Watch Me Drink My Coffee or Tea then look at the camera. 6. Downsizing My Collection. 7. Plant Wishlist and so on. When one puts out a themed video, you can rest assured others will follow. There's beauty when you keep things real. I hope that you will find your footing and niche with and in the RU-vid realm because you are a refreshing choice🫂🪴❤

As someone who has taken a step back on plants during the winter, I feel you. I also struggled because I didn't want to buy new plants because of the trends I didn't knew what my favorite plants are, the leaves where not perfect (stil beautiful), etc. Now I focus more on plantcare and kind of know which plants I care the most about, because I was sad they didn't look as nice as before the winter. So love that you don't want to follow the trends anymore and focus on what you like. We need more channels like that

Honestly, being yourself, filming what you want, showing the imperfect & not following trends is the best direction to take. I do this for my channel. I do what I want. Good on you! I've always thought that plant channels aren't going to be sustainable as a full-time income because of trends and people's interest in plants comes and goes, and realistically there is only so much you can talk about or film when it comes to plants right!? I was thinking of you just the other day wondering if you were ok. Good for you! I’m glad you’re doing better. Don’t put so much pressure on yourself. You have a long life to live yet and that’s just not sustainable. I’m not watching your videos because you have fashionable plants. I’m watching to learn and I’ve learned so much. First and foremost take care of yourself. You can only do so much in 24 hours. If we’re lucky enough to get a video from you, awesome. Take care of yourself. If not that’s just how it is. ❤

I'm glad you're okay! You must follow your heart, and it sounds like you have figured it out. I enjoy your videos, and I appreciate all the videos you've created. I'll continue watching in the future, and am glad you are doing better. BTW, your videos introduced me to hoya polyneura outer variegated and hoya New Guinea Ghost. I fell in love with their amazing beauty, and searched for them until I could add them to my collection. Thank you!

My daughter kept trying to push me into a plant business but I told her if she took care of the business side and left me to my plants I would absolutely do it! Well, that was the end of that😊. Also, I too am the type to work things out on my own without so many voices trying to help me but can't, because it's just not my process ....... So, I thoroughly get what you are saying. I did miss you and only want the best for you so any time you pop up I'll be here!

It seems to be a positive thing that you are relieving yourself of the pressure associated with depending on a RU-vid structure for a living. I’ll bet you are a kind and compassionate nurse!
