I've been listening to a mix of your videos, older and more recent ones, while I did a catch up clean this afternoon... you definitely motivate me to keep going in little chunks and not to get overwhelmed by it all ... and when I'm feeling okay about the slow and steady pace of decluttering I find other areas of my life feel better too ... thank you, Diane 😊

Glad you are back! Congratulations on your swim match in Estonia. I have a cluttered basement: books in boxes, Knick knacks, kids toys (keeping now for the grandkids), kitchen items. Tomorrow I’m going to start working on it for 10-15 minutes. Where to start? The first box I come to at the bottom of the stairs!

I cleaned my bathroom on Monday. I washed the walls, the floor with CIF. The bath is very small and the toilet is inside this space too. So I had very specific excesises! But now my bathroom is so clean and nice and bright!

Welcome back! Congratulations on your world record. Last week seemed odd without your videos, but I kept busy by decluttering most of my dearly departed dad's WWII military photos, letters, and other items. I found a military museum that has other memorabilia from his regiment and donated these items to them. Many of the photos were of other members of his regiment, but I did keep a few dozen of the photos of my dad. It is nice to know that I can visit the museum if I get sentimental about the rest of it. Glad you're back!!

Welcome back, Diane! 🖐 I've been gradually retiring the dreaded ironing basket this week - it's become a clothes storage area - so I've done ironing every evening this week and turned the basket back into a laundry basket (our usual one was broken). Now I will iron as I go - no more accumulation!

Woohoo! I tackled my daughters room. She actually needs to do the decluttering (with my help, she’s past the age I can do it for her), but all the loose parts are in containers and I dusted and gave the room a good vacuum clean. I found a very big spider, so I hope that motivates her to regularly tidy her room!

I let go of my record collection (circa 1987) in one swoop. BUT, my only regret is that I have my collection to a friend who loves the same music. Unfortunately, I did not realize that I was just creating a new monster for my friend. I believe I would have shared a better music connection with my friend if I had given them my 3 favorite albums instead of all 3 crates. Oy! Lesson learned. Thank you for today's inspiration.

Oh, yes, trading some of the heavier crockery for lighter ones is a good idea; in about ten years you'll be glad you've done so. (69 here... busy and active, but it's amazing how heavy a stack of stoneware plates can be.) Plus, why keep using things you don't really care for? I'm decluttering and shredding in the office today. I sat at my computer desk while watching the video. I decluttered papers and went through all the NUMEROUS notepads I've collected. Most of them actually came from charities. I wish they wouldn't spend the money to send all those!

Welcome back Diane. Huge Cocteau Twins fan here! If I’m feeling nostalgic I’ll put Treasure on and I’m back in 1985 with my Victorian grandad shirts and lacy gloves. And ha ha but the Smiths seem to have made it through but Cocteau Twins are miserable???????? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Anyway - I have cleared out my bedside cabinet and bag collection today, so thank you as always.

Congratulations 🏆🥳🙆‍♀️ You asked, "What's in your basement?" Well, let me say too much!!! I am in the process of going through 5 generations of family memories! This is going to be a very long adventure 🙅‍♀️ but I've decided to do just 10 minutes at a time, grab one bag or box. I'm hoping not to get overwhelmed! It is a full-size basement with almost every piece of floor covered. At least it's in boxes and bags that are in some kind of order. Their not just thrown in there. Thank goodness! Recently I took all my old 45’s to a local record shop. Our old albums are sitting in my staging table. I love the idea of listening to them but we don’t have any means of playing them. I’m going to bring them to my boss and see if he wants any. Then I will take the rest to the record shop. It was fun going through them and alphabetizing them. (I’m weird that way) Lots of memories in our old records.

I just found out that we have a swap room in our town. You can just take things over there and donate and just take anything you find that interests you. It looks like a little garden shed and I love the idea 🎉. I have been decluttering the last days because I now have a place to take everything to 😍

Nephew is here helping with some garden projects. And I just organized chips and salsa area of pantry. Every thing is according to 'Good By Date'. Lot's of outside spring activities but Weekly Upkeep is keeping house looking good!

Wanted to thank you for this video, I work at a university and have been on spring break this week and had great intentions of spending the week cleaning, decluttering and organizing my house, since it is time I wouldnt normally have. However a friend needed me to house and puppy sit for them last minute so I was unable to be at my own house and get as much done as I wanted. And I thought well Diane will be proud when I can tell her I did the monday cleaning and Wednesday Declutter last and this week. This week I’ve worked in my youngest daughter bedroom (2yo). Decluttered all the babystuff in the closet. She turns 3 next month and it won’t be long till we turn her room to a toddler room and I’m happy i finished one closet already so that can go into a bigger closet when she’s getting her new furniture. You look fantastic in that blue. No declutter for me today. Took Hubby to the doctor for a pre- op physical, got ready for dinner with friends, watched a DVD from the Library and now ready for bed. I actually undecluttered today. I had a swimsuit coverup that didn’t fit well so I put it in the donate basket a few days ago. I went on-line to order another coverup and after looking at a few I realized I could probably rework the one I have into something I want that fits better. I took it out of the donate basket and have it scheduled to rework it next week. If I remember, I’ll let you know how it goes.

Congratulations on your world record! I'm 2 months late here, but, finally figured out how to sign in to comment back to you! This winter I saw an interview piece on Depeche Mode on "Sunday Morning" here in US. Thanks for your encouragement to even declutter 1 item a day! But, made better progress this summer during remodel of kitchen & bath! Hubby started shredding 50 yr worth of tax files!!! Didn't know we had this much! But, have sooo much more to do! Sometimes I try to do the same zone as you, but more often than not, I just do the thing that needs my attention the most. I try to encourage my little daughter to declutter as well and today she managed to declutter 2 children books. I'll try to do another round of decluttering/cleaning later in the evening but now it's time for going on the walk/bike.

Because our basement has two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a living room, we have no storage except for one closet & under the stairs. I honestly prefer it that way, there’s no where for me to keep clutter 😊

Welcome back Diane! Tomorrow wil l be 3 weeks of consistently washing, drying and ironing a load every day! No more piles of ironing lurking in this house, go me! I had a face mask on probation and turns out I don't like it at all and passed it on to my daughter instead of putting it back in the drawer.

Cleaned out a stuffed storage ottoman. Lots of paperwork from over ten years ago and craft supplies I’ll never use. Even after moving craft supplies that I do use into it from another location in the house it is still less than half full! Donating the supplies that didn’t make the cut to the library.

I found a 36"x24" framed art that made husband had hanging when we met, but we've never hung it in 14 years of marriage (and don't plan to) - yes, I asked him. And three level 1 flute by books - all going on my buy nothing group!

Congrats on world record💪💪🥂🍾...Routines pay off but it takes time. Girls nite out I drove but as follow car upkeep I had my car clean ready 2 go...got asked 2 drop a family member 2 a medical appointment early am again car clean & fuel in the tank, so lets go..No stress when u keep up with routines be consistant is the motto. So happy to see you back. You are the bright spark in my day. I have been motoring along with my routines. My difficult area is the study. So will be tacking just one draw in there. One draw at a time. It’s the one area I just keep paying aside as it is overwhelming and jammed packed with stuff.
