This song always brings tears to my eyes, I spent more than 6 years living in Newcastle, and always view it as my second home, love the geordies, and have supported the lads since 1969, bleeds them all
I herd this song at St James Park this season & loved it. Im an Aston Villa Fan but wish he had some songs like this to play at Villa Park. Great Stadium too great facilities. Shame about all the steps to get to the top for away fans but the view is well worth it.
Back to Newcastle from moving as a bairn 7 year ago, rolled in over the tyne, and a lump in me throat, and a lift in me heart, first time i felt home in years! Haway the lads, Geordie for life!
Moved away 7 years ago to be with my grandparents and going back this year and I'm beyond excited.. This will be posted on my Facebook when I move back!❣️
Ronnie was a great bloke. I was once at a showcase of a band that Ronnie was doing backing vocals and harmonica for. The after party was awesome and Ronnie, his wife (Hazel), my other half and me shared stories and jokes. Fantastic couple with cracking sense of humour! x
i am from Newcastle England but live in melbourne always go to the games when newcastle play the melbourne teams. this song makes me homesick but will be back in june for a few weeks cant wait!! fish n chips down north shields and a pint or two at the dolphin magic!!!
I'm Half German and I've loved every year of living int his city. I have NO geordie accent at all, actually sound really posh haha, but I'm not a posh arse like some of my southern friends because i was bought up right, as a geordie! Its all about working your fair share, being honest, true and fair...having a laugh...but most of all supporting the Toon every Sat wind, rain, snow or floods! I love Newcastle and would never live in London for 'the money'. Fuck that. I'm coming home this w/end!
I stumbled across your RU-vid clip by accident. I love the song. I live in Newcastle, Australia. It has a lot in common with Newcastle, England (maybe not as cold). One day I will visit your fair city. That bridge looks vaguely familiar. Oh, and Emile Hesky is Newcastle's top goal scorer for our A-League
I'm from Newcastle and moved to Sheffield to study and I miss my home so much. Northy Street to Big Market there's nee land like wor land and wor land is Geordie land!
Great song makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck !But one minus point ? The Geordie spelling for HOWAY but in the inscription it's spelt the wrong way HAWAY
Let me say this man united fan strong feeling newcastle will win the cup today sir alex ferguson said defence wins titles and scoring goals win games good luck today.
This is Busker (Ronnie Lambert) It was recorded in Reeltime Studios Newcastle. The Producer was Tom McCluskey who owned the studios at the time. The same studios Gazza recorded Fog on the Tyne.
Fantastic song. Newcastle is a great place to live, so vibrant. Sunderland by comparison is an absolute shit hole, there's literally nothing there. Just roads and offices and motorways.
Why is there a shot of Toronto, Ontario at 1:23? I have the Newcastle United souvenir album from 1984 with this song and Wor Kev. Love it. Go Newcastle!
Went back again this season. The highlight of the day was this coming on before the game again lol. Its crazy that its been 9 months since I last went and no 1 else has commented of this vid since I did lol
thanks i have been, had a couple of pints of ginger beer at a pub on the water front cant remember the name. i was visiting friends in lemon tree passage. not the best week in football but I would sooner support newcastle win or lose than any other club in the world geordie till i die!!
Moved to the United States from the toon eight years ago. Coming back over in June, any guesses as to what I'll be singing all the way there? howay the lads.
I moved down south to study at Cambridge University. I'm surrounded by Londoners and posh public school types. You're lucky to find a broon ale for less than £3.50. It's torture. I miss the geordie accent every day, as well as the sight of the majestic Tyne and the general friendliness of northern people.
i moved to newcastle 5 year ago when i met a lovely geordie would never live anywhere else now i love it here its my home now and hopefully get my dream of getting married in st james park next august xxx paul i love you so much yr my soul mate carnt wait to be ya wifey :O)))
@TigerChris1984 I lived 21 years in Newcastle, and 4 in Sheffield. They're both wonderful cities! Now I live in f***ing Ohio. What the hell did I do wrong? ;-)
"hinny "is a term of endearment applied usally to woman and children, "haway" or "howay" has several meaning such as come on ( I am waiting for you) hurry up, or "encouragement" or even "exasperation !
