Vortex: Better sheath, pocket clip with reverse hook feature, and each model that includes a reticle should also have a way to attach to a tripod, not having one is lazy and cheap.
I’ve had mine for years and love it. I do agree with you about the reticle focus and the actual focus. I’d thinks they’d switch it to make the reticle focus stiff since that doesn’t change that much but the target focus you change all the time. Weird, but still great piece of kit.
i thought the audio was fine btw, maybe a bit low but it didn't need to be louder. i judge audio by how fast i can listen to the video, and i was able to listen at 3.3x speed just fine. ALSO: the normal version of this monocualr, the solo, is on sale for $70 right now on amazon it looks like, so i'll probably pick that up cuz jfc so much cheaper than the RT version
I purchased this same monocular. Just tested your question. Yes at 20’ works great, very clear! Even 15’. I have almost zero complaints on this unit, I even like the case it comes with better than this review. It’s not great but it’s not bad at all. My only complaint is no way to protect the lenses, I’ll be using mine for long distance backpacking so I’ll just cover each end with a soft thin cloth held on by a sturdy rubber band.
Thanks for the review! Quick question - on my unit (just received), the focus ring only rotated about half a rotation, if that - is that normal or is something wrong with mine?
I want to get my friend who rides ebike out in the country. So, simple & basic just for looking at animals, birds etc.. BUT I Don’t want to get him anything cheap. Is this one good for what we want or is it too much… he’s an older man and probably doesn’t need too much technology .. thanks for your help.
@@GTMGunTotinMinnesotan Thank you so much! I have the bad habit of overdoing these things.. “you get what you pay for”. But I go to extremes. “$25 isn’t enough.. I’ll buy the $250 model.”Heck, can’t take it with me! Thank you again for the compliment and the advice. 🙏☺️🙏
Yeah, it wasn't discernably off either. 8x isn't enough to be super tight with unless it's mounted in my opinion. Ranging with something like this is not impossible, but it's tougher.
HEY MY FRIEND THANKS FOR SHARING. I WANT A MONOCULAR FOR WILDLIFE , LOOKING AT BIRDS OF PREY OR IN THE BACK GARDEN . I DO NOT NEED A RANGEFINDER . IS THIS STILL OK FOR ME ? THE VORTEX SOLO SEEMS A BIT BASIC. I ALSO WEAR GLASSES , MAYBE CAN MANAGE WITHOUT THEM AS I AM LONG SIGHTED , MANY THANKS IAN UK.
