It’s sad to hear especially considering your Hardcore Survivor series was one, if not the most entertaining series on RU-vid for DBD, but I’m happy that you are doing something that makes you feel more content. It’s tough because with content creators it often feels like they’re forced to be tied to one product and sometimes it shows in their face and expressions that they’re not really having fun with it anymore, so full respect to those that risk viewership in order to do something that makes them feel more engaged and happier.

Your consistency in your posting has spoken louder than your words in this video ever can. You don't seem happier to me. You seem lost. I feel for you man, and I know you're going through it, but DBD was your bread and butter. Why set something in stone so strictly when you don't have to? Why not just post DBD content on occasion when you feel like it? What did Behavior do that was so upsetting to you to just quit completely? Your views and sub counts have diminished greatly since you left the DBD community. Forgive me for my ignorance, but I genuinely think you should consider coming back.

Good TBH. The last few times I watched Dowsey, I found him to be pretty toxic when playing the game (condescending, putting other players down just because they make a mistake etc). Hopefully he's grown up since then.

It was a good run, Dowsey boi! Good for you for standing your ground and doing what fulfils you. I cannot even begin to comprehend how difficult it must be to come to terms with and make a decision like this when a large portion of your subscriber base came for DBD content initially. The truth is, you may lose some viewers. But you'll gain so much more in the long run if you're genuinely enjoying what you do. Whats interesting, now 9 months later, is that this video states multiple times that he will be a variety streamer, yet on Twitch every VOD and schedule is Dark and Darker. Im not coming in with hate at all, but it interesting thst he basically just swapped one game for another, and not a variety of games. The big thing to note to me here is that if he stops Dark and Darker his viewer base will most likey plummet again, forcing a 2nd rebuilding. Im not sure how many of those he can sustain. Just an interesting thing I noticed. 🤔

It honestly feels more like a toxic relationship than playing a game at this point. The community is awful. The game is unfun. The developers care so little and understand their own game even less. They can do so much yet they don’t. Just a money grab always. ** quick edit. Bare in mind the way YOU yourself got treated by them has been god awful like when has this ever happened to another creator whilst in a gaming community for raising issues and their own personal opinions on things. It’s so toxic.

I started playing back during the 4th anniversary event and quit last December, accumulating about 1200 hours of playtime over that time, because i was just constantly having such a miserable time, obviously it's a lot different for you since this is your job, but I get that you dont wanna be bound to something that just doesn't fulfill you anymore. I've been looking forward to checking out your RE4R VODs - (and any content you may make of it!) once I finish it for myself to avoid any spoilers. Breaking away from doing content for a single game to do more of a variety has been something I've seen a lot of streamers I follow do, and it has always had a positive effect on them. You're making a good call by doing this, and I am excited to see where your channel goes from here!

I think the only way you can make it as a content creator on the long run is by staying happy with what you do. If DBD doesn't make you happy anymore (and I understand your reasons why tbh, my time on the game has been dwindling dramatically), then it's the right decision for you! The fact that BHVR denied the DDoS attacks and in small letter on conditions and terms of use, they don't consider this a violation and like MintSkull said "Hackers are also costumers" Now we see why they haven't improved the anti-cheating and gave tools to hackers and ddosers to hide in incognito, making impossible to report the user

I only started playing DBD in December 2021 and the first dbd RU-vid video I watched was your commentary on a comp Pig vs a comp swf when wondering if this game I was getting into had a comp scene, and I’ve been subbed ever since. Hardcore was genuinely one of the highlights of all of DBD content creation and you should be so proud of all the work you put out there. I’m sorry your dbd journey has ended on such a sour note, and I hope that you can be proud of the DBD chapter in your life and not regret it. But the future definitely looks bright for you and being happy in your content and protecting your mental well-being is the most important thing and it takes courage to make that your priority. Yup. I stopped streaming it & making videos on it due to the DDOS'ing. I have no idea why Behaviour thought it was a good idea to blame it's fan base. They seem to have to gone the wa of activision. Not caring about its players and trying to get as much money out of people as possible.

The fact that you took your happiness into your own hands and made these hard decisions and this very open and raw video showcases your strong character. I'm not sure I'll continue watching your content, but I know it will be a much higher quality for everyone who does (even though it was already great before, that's why I started watching) now that you do what you want to do instead of what the majority of your viewers want. I’m all for creators moving on to things the love but it’s so frustrating when they ditch a finale episode when everyone’s been waiting. Why not go out with a bang with one finale goodbye to the game and it’s community (since you’re probably gonna lose 80% of viewers anyway, and from the recent vids..yeah…) Idk, one final goodbye stream/video seems more fitting then whatever this was.

Ive been bummed about the last hardcore episode for a while, but I'm truly happy for you knowing that you'll be happier moving forward. I'm self employed too, its nice to be able to be in a spot where you can say, "no i dont want to do that anymore" to a particular job. Just know, if you ever do change your mind about the last video, or subcontract out an editor for a video, there is a portion of people who will literally re-watch the whole series to get context to see the last video lol. As somebody who struggles with mental health and also tries to upload content I can understand that struggle of “I just can’t” as much as I was looking forward to the end and had been waiting I can understand the struggle and respect how hard it may have been to make this video as well.

I'm glad you decided to finally make a video about this subject. I respect your decision and I wish you all of the best in your future endeavors. I think mental health is absolutely important and should be taken care of. I started becoming a fan of yours through your hardcore series and each episode was like tuning into a tv series episode. It was really exciting and thrilling to watch. That being said, it does sort of feel like a slap in the face to all of the people that were invested in the series. There really is no reason to not finish the series in the future once you get back on your feet with viewership by hiring an editor and giving it a proper send off like it deserves. As I said though, I respect your decision and wish you the best. Good luck!

I know that this is much after this video’s release, but I wanted to put this out there for no real reason. When I had started I was a very aimless killer main, I couldn’t understand what I did wrong other than the basics, but when I found your channel was when that changed, you were a guiding light to me, and something to strive to be like in terms of skill, matter of fact I still have your “best builds” for some killers, unfortunately mostly due to neglect. Now, I’m also like you where I don’t really touch the game anymore, only difference being I touch it on rare occasions, but I don’t really get much joy out of doing so. Anyways, the only point I’m trying to get across is I appreciate all that you taught me, and the time you spent on the game to show me something, even if it wasn’t really made for me specifically. I wish you best of luck, and I’ll check out some of your other content from time to time.

i completely understand how you feel and I fully support you in your decision. Last year when I had covid I was really sick and had to lay in my bed for whole week alone and that was when i discovered hardcore survivor and watched whole series in like 2 days . I really loved seeing you guys interact with eachother and having blast especially Jrm and Ayrun and their jokes and everything. Its like really good anime or something , I had a feeling I was part of that adventure and when I saw that only last episode was missing and you guys came so close i was tearing up with joy and this overwhelming feeling. Its sad that I probably will never be able to watch series end but im thankful to you for even providing me that type of comfort at exactly the time i needed it do most. Hey dowsey, as someone that deals with depression and another big mood disorder, I felt you so much here. The repeated phrasing of “I just couldn’t” is exactly how I try to explain my own depression every time. I felt you SO much there. Hopefully there’s some solace in knowing that at least some of your viewers are 100% understanding with you.

Wishing you the best in doing things for your own wellbeing, this can't have been an easy choice to make and I think that should be greatly respected. Hardcore was a great and engaging series, and I hope someone like Otz maybe takes the reins of it or something, but it's very understandable and I don't think many would've been able to work on it either in your position.
