Always good to see someone cleaning up the tot lots, by the way, you might invest in buying a pin pointer protecter, it will save the life of your pin pointer.
That was indeed an antique square nail. The rusty nut was called an acorn nut, usually used on toys or outdoor furniture where you don’t want the sharp edge of a bolt protruding out of something. Glad you got the hazardous items picked up !
Nice work removing those rusty sharp objects from playground!👍❤ Would not doubt you saved a little one or two from having a very bad day..! Great vid as always! Cheers and best of luck be with you.🙂

That low grunt sound you are hearing is iron. Sometimes you might hear a grunt sound with a high pitch sound which could be ring. Hears a little help with VDI numbers. VDI 50, 51 - quarter, VDI 46, 47 - copper cent, dime or silver. VDI 40, 41 -Zinc cent, VDI 24 - Nickel. Aluminum and gold rings, ring up the same sometimes. Thick gold rings can ring up in the low VDI 33 and thin gold ring or VDI 30 and below. I found a thin ring at VDI 11. Hope this helps.
That tapered square spike you showed at the end looks like one of the wedges used on a truck or trailer with 'drop-sides'. I don't know what they are called Stateside.
17:41 This looks like a random scrap piece from when they were building that place. Probably an angle grinder trimming from the edge of some steel plate or angle iron piece.
I wonder if you would have luck trying old type park areas that lots of people go to we have what is called a Confederate park here that I have metal detected and found a couple of nice things
pinpointing! you sure? Sounded as if you were torturing the poor thing. Not often do you see two nuts that close together. LOL That put a new slant on the word fingernail LOL.
