I know im a little late here! But i can explain some bits. The anthem says " I want to live in the north and i want to die in the north" Because even if we have different countries here, we are still the same people, comes from the same background and stuff. So its not about just Sweden, its about the Nordics. Parts of how she sang is old school cow herding. We used that in Sweden alot and its called "kullning". The song also looks back in time when Sweden was a great power. We were known all over the world as a great country and ruled a big part of Europe. This is also not our official Anthem. We dont have one, But we all use this song as an unofficial anthem!

This version is a lot better than the normal version which is more upbeat and pompous. It's still good though. I think that what sets our [the Swedish] national anthem apart from other national anthems is the melancholy. Melancholy is part of the soul of Sweden. Great reaction, i live north of her but see things like this every day, like, yesterday I saw foxes, lakes with mist and water so still it was almost a mirror, reindeer and even an eagle riding thermal in the blue sky... so yeah.

it's not hard to top if you check out eivor, falling free live at the old theater in tórshavn. don't get me wrong jonna is fantastic! but eivor is just absolute special, i'm pretty sure that she will impress you. she is an unrivaled nordic goddess. she carries ages and centuries in her voice, combining brilliant vocals with other vocal techniques like throat singing and kulning. she also made music for the netflix series the last kingdom, for example the last kingdom main theme live at hammersmith apollo

You can sing it some diffrent ways. Jonna made it a liiitte diffrent with the pauses. But the other songs of this song on youtube is just a middle are man that try to sound royaly in the voice and kinda fast speed so it don’t feel right either😂

As a swede. We use it as our national anthem but Sweden don’t actually have an national anthem. So it’s kinda become one in a way.

Surely you know you neither interrupt nor talk while a national anthem is playing? Then again, this is not the traditional way the Swedish national anthem is performed - she is changing the melody here and there (and I cannot understand why she does that. It does not sound right, although she has a good voice). Then again, I am from the older generation and thus probably more traditional than younger people. If you want to hear "the real" version, listen to world renown Swedish tenor Jussi Björling singing it.
