Filipino filmmakers, screenwriters and actors really excel in realism. I appreciate western fiction, kdrama and anime and I understand the appeal. They're clever and imaginative. They offer viewers an escape to our otherwise boring lives. But realism in fiction helps keep people grounded. This type of fiction does not coddle vanity and shows us the true face of the world. It is the story of common people that often fade into the background of our society's absurdly decorated narrative.

Happy ending for Carson. Her laugh at the end, truly shows the relief she felt after keeping the feeling for 7 years. Indeed she graduated.

One of best Filipino films I've seen this year so far. The execution, the soundtrack, and the story aren't over the top. But what I love most about this movie is the last scene. Not a cliffhanger pero binigay sa manonood ang kalayaan na mag-isip kung ano-ano ang mga nasa isip ng dalawang bida sa mga oras na 'yon. Ang pagtawa ng magisa ni Carson ay realization ng kinakatakutan n'ya- that her friendship with Dio would end abrubtly once she confessed, which did not happen. There seemed to be awkwardness between them at the start, but it ebbed away as the conversation went on. Finally, nasabi na ni Carson ang nararamdaman niya at magkaibigan pa rin sila ni Dio. Parang, "Pucha, seven years! Seven years kong tinago. Seven years kang nagpakatanga, Carson! Pero ito magkaibigan pa rin kami ni Dio. Gaga ka talaga", sabay laklak ng alak. At nang nag-cra-crave si Dio ng bagnet at hindi na sinakayan ni Carson ang trip niya, it signifies na ready na siyang mag-move forward. Kung si old Carson pa 'yon, sasamahan niya si Dio na maghanap ng bagnet kahit dis oras na nang gabi. The old Carson who would go the extra mile for Dio. Kaya nang tumanggi si Carson na maghanap ay kita ang pagka-surprise kay Dio. Dahil I think it's the first time in their seven-year friendship na 'di sinakyan ni Carson ang trip niya. Graduate na si Carson sa lahat. Sa UP. Sa pagpapanggap. Sa pagka-martyr. Magmahal patago. Sa palaging hinuhuli ang sarili para sa iba. For Dio, this is either an eye opener or something that best friends of opposite gender normally face. But one thing is for sure, he will never see Carson the same way again. At the end of the day, would you risk your friendship for a commitment you're unsure can withstand time? Pero paano kung sa hindi kasiguraduhan mo makita ang pang habang buhay na kasiyahan?

My favorite scene is when Carson wishes for 5 more minutes alone with Dio before Pathy comes back. It's for two reasons: 1) Pathy comes back early anyway. Minsan sa buhay ang daming bagay na hindi pa natin handang harapin kasi napakahirap ang magpakawala, ang tanggapin ang katotohanan, ang magising sa realidad ng mga bagay-bagay. Most of the time, we don't have a choice but to do it anyway. 7 years wasn't enough, and 5 more minutes wouldn't have been enough kasi finally admitting to ourselves that we have to give up, to "graduate" is something we may never be ready for, but we will have to do it anyway. 2) After 7 years, Carson asks for 5 more minutes. Why? Because time spent loving people, even if they would never love us back the same, always feel like it's never enough. Sa isip natin, "Paano kung sumuko ako ngayon pero mahal na niya pala ako bukas?" We regret to throw away all the years we spend hoping, because hoping for so long means we are too good at convincing ourselves that what will end up happening will end up favoring us. Ang sakit nung, "5 minutes pa." Kasi kapag pagod ka na, lahat kakapitan mo, kaya ko pa kahit 5 minutes lang, maghihintay ako kahit 5 minutes lang, baka after 5 minutes meron na, lahat na sasabihin mo just to excuse yourself from the "time check" knocking on your door. Simpleng eksena, napakalalim ang tama.

I am still stunned and can't contain my emotions watching this. Just stumbled upon this film tonight without knowing this would punch me so hard in the face. 15mins in this movie and I'm already crying, so you can just Imagine when it ended. Carson is me! I have almost the exact same story. I never thought i would fall for my guy bestfriend. He was my co-worker and we became bestfriends for 6 years. I've fallen for him 4th year being friends with him. It was obvious but I guess he mastered the art of ignoring it. And i mastered the skill of taking all the pain. And I did all the things Carson did for him. I wanted to end it because it is hurting me so bad but I just dont know how to. Him and our friendship, it was like a drug that I cant let go of. However, all I feel then, was endless pain. I was happy being with him but I am always dying inside, especially seeing him with his gf/s. We went to Baguio for a random road trip (so much like in this movie) and I confessed to him there while drunk. Unlike Dio, he gave me a reason after saying sorry, that he is not seeing me in that way and would feel lost if he loses me because of this risk of me confessing. He wanted me so bad as a friend, confidante, support buddy. I eventually let go of it all. I was so tired of feeling pain. No contact for 2 years..and have dated a new guy. My bestfriend confessed to me that he has fallen in love with me during the time that we were apart but was too coward to do anything about it and the fear of me hating him, rejecting him I chose my boyfriend ....and after a few months, truly regret my decision, because I realized it was still him. I just became traumatized with all the pain that hugged me for years. I was blinded by what my heart is telling me. All I know is if I forget him totally, there is a chance for me to be truly and genuinely happy again. Thus, rejecting him. His memories and my wounds are deep that I found it hard to be vulnerable again, to him,.to anyone. I broke up with my boyfriend right after. I don't want another soul be drowning in a sea of loneliness just like us. I wanted to make things right. Me and my bestfriend maintained no contact from then on. Last Feb, i heard that he is now getting married this December 2021. And yeah..i have been hurting for almost a decade now..and I'm tired of feeling hurt. But I still love him. Timing..I learned ..is also important. You can't just tell yourself to just be strong, to try things, to not be hurt, to not be afraid. You should always be ready...when you intend to love.

My eyes showered a tears in the scene when carson finally at home and cried. I know she was holding it when they were still at La Union. I know how it hurt inside to hold your tears. And what makes me more emotional when she hugged her mom while crying. It was not because she finally graduate, but its because of the baggage she had from La Union. What a great movie.

Sequel not needed. Personally, I feel when she said "graduate na tayo, graduate na ako" habang tumatawa towards the end, I think she's finally moved on and accepted na hindi magiging sila but will remain best of friends. Another quality movie TBA. Thank you for this.

Watching this as a teenager made me look at adults differently. Being able to see their flaws, shortcomings and hopelessness made me think that somehow, like me, they are still learning how to overcome what life has brought upon us. I cried in the end, I am so proud of Carson for finally moving forward. I've laughed and learned throughout the movie along with being frustrated but I'm very much contented with the ending.

I was lucky enough to see this at the cinema nung pinalabas siya for a limited time. At that time, I was 5 years in deep love with my best friend who was in a relationship then. Just this past week, after 10 years of friendship, I made the decision to let go when I realized na di pa pala ako nakamove on from him. Even though I promised myself na tama na nung 2019. I did the brave thing of telling him how I felt and he turned me down just this past Saturday. I think the hardest part about this is that I am losing the best friend I have ever had. We have gone through the growing pains of our twenties, lived abroad together, shared many tears and laughs. Swerte ni Carson na meron siyang Jason Ty eh. Now I am just a wreck and by myself, but I know it is for my own good and one day, I hope to look back at this film and see my comment and think na naraos ko rin ito. :) To all those who are on the same boat as me, all the hugs in the world. x

"O Kay tagal din kitang minahal" -Carson When Carson finally disagrees with Dio's trip na maghanap ng bagnet sa dis oras ng gabi. Congrats girl! Happy Graduation! And see that look in Dio's face naninibago because for the first time ever in their 7 long years of friendship ngayon lang tumanggi si Carson sa trip ni Dio. Graduate na ko! "O Kay tagal din kitang mamahalin" - Dio But it's Dio's First day high. First day of loving Carson. Because after that night na umamin si Carson. Dio never looked at Carson the same way. Walang nang mag sasakit pa Sa pagmamahalan na di pinagbigyan ng pagkakataon. Minahal lang ni Dio si Carson, nung tapos nang mahalin ni Carson si Dio. Balakajan.

I love the silent moment nila sa ending... it let's the audiences decide what the two characters are thinking that exact moment. for me, when Carson refused the butterballs Dio offered, she's finally taking the step of moving on (besides accepted narin naman niya sa Elyu palang) then she said graduate na siya, she's finally came to terms with it and becomes hopeful of future. She's about to start a new chapter without Dio or maybe with Dio but not as the love of her life. Then on Dio's side naman, I think when he found out that Carson loves him that was the time he finally see Carson or he saw her in different light. Sure there are unconscious feelings si Dio na lumitaw sa consciousness niya and made him confuse. then sa silent moment nila when he offered the butterballs it's signifies na he sees Carson and now he is interested sa thoughts and feelings ni Carson. I think he's starting to fall in love with her. (the butterball thing, kasi di ba favorite ni Carson yun. pero noong nag iinuman sila he took 2 butterballs pero binigay niya kay Pathy and not to Carson without realizing before that favorite ni Carson yun kasi mas priority niya that time si Pathy) For me, the story is about two best friends who were never in the same page. Carson delayed everything just to be with Dio. Dio is confused or maybe going on a quarter life crisis. Hindi niya mafigure out paano niya maaabot yung dreams niya and he is scared to fail. He's clinging so much sa past niya kasi feeling niya doon sure siya na okay at magaling siya kaya easily distracted siya noong lumitaw si Pathy. Then natauhan lang siya when Carson confessed her feelings towards him. The silent moment nila it doesnt signify that finally they are on the same page. Carson is finally moving on and Dio will likely start to pursue her. kaya wag niyo na lagyan ng sequel. magiging baduy na siya. haha

TBA Studios produced movies that don't excel on cinema but made a huge name after years of it's released and many ppl are regretting not watching it on cinemas like me. Kudos to TBA for making films like this. Keep making films that hits differently to many ppl.

I love how all these songs fit the different situations of the story so well, how they perfectly describe Carson’s feelings towards Dio at every stage of the film, like they were written just for this film!

Favorite part ko talaga yung last scene eh. After a long silence, tumawa si Carson, and then slowly, nawala na yung awkwardness between them. Ang babaw pero ganyan talaga sa mga magkaibigan. Minsan wala ng explanations na kailangan. 🙂

When Dio said Sorry, it makes me so-dead-curious. I mean, Ang hirap ng salitang SORRY lang! Like Sorry for what? "Sorry kasi Di kita kayang mahalin as more than best friends, hanggang best friends lang talaga" or "Sorry kasi hindi pa ako handa na pumasok sa isang serious relationship na yung tipong ikaw na talaga, not now. " or "Sorry I feel the same pero naduduwag ako, natatakot ako na baka pag sinubukan natin, di tayo mag end up together. Mas lalong masisira yung friendship natin" or "Sorry kasi na took for granted kita. I've been inconsiderate for 7 years. I'm sorry, hindi ako naging sensitive kung ano na ba ang nararamdaman mo" . Sometimes we don't need an apology, we need reasons. 💔 Char sanaol graduate na sa karupukan! Self?

It's confirmed that it has a sequel and they are still writing the script. I read the article and it's entitled "I love you, I do" daw? And yes, Maja and Paolo are still on board for the roles of Carson and Dio! It will be possibly released on 2022 or sooner.

The only thing unrealistic about this movie is carson waking up still fresh af after drinking that much each night. Tapos walang hungover. haha paano kaya.

Y'all there's nothing sad about this movie at all. I really love how raw and real the scenes are. No drama and whatsoever. Just two friends learning to love each other at their own time.

I watched this movie two days ago. Bakit ngayon ko lang napanood ‘to? Grabe yung soundtrack, grabe yung hila ng kwento, grabe yung casting. Galing ng pagkaka-portray ni Maja at ni Paulo. Grabe. Naka-relate ata ako. Sana ganito tayo katapang.

This movie is so heartbreaking yet full of lessons. I felt those silent scenes, no dialogues. Reality hits me differently when Dio keep on saying sorry. Something you're sorry about for not giving back the love and sorry for the pain itself. Cried all night for this and I could say, thank you for this heartfelt film. It feels surreal.

2024 na oh, ilang taon na ko bumalik balik dito. Sequel lang naman gusto ko eh.

You don't have to love someone for 7 years to feel the pain Carson felt. That little thing called "love" is painful as hell. The way Carson broke down in front of her mom claims that even tough people weakens when it comes to love. The ending tho is good. I liked how Carson laughed as if it's a sign that says "okay, i'm done and i'm fine.". She empowered herself through accepting the situation. And that's how we should do it, kids-- accept and move on. I can never listen to "Hanggang Dito Na Lang" the same again. I might cry. Thinking what if it was written after experiencing the same pain. The movie is acknowledged as a painful way of telling us, love will not always be reciprocated regardless of heart fluttering facts. P.S. Everyone, please don't take advantage of someone else's feelings. You don't treat it as a gate to sympathize. If you don't like someone who likes you, then be honest. Reciprocity ain't cute when it's fake.

I just realized now watching the last scene that even the comment about the bagnet had a subliminal meaning. He wanted bagnet (Carson) at this hour, even if he knew he couldn’t have it. When he had all bagnet he could have in La Union. He probably tried to deny this feeling he also had for Carson, and tried vegetarian (Pathy) but in the end it was really Carson he wanted but that ship has sailed. The message is figure out the things you want in this life so you can live life truly with no regrets.

Akala niyo lang hindi happy ending pero kita niyo, iba kasi 'to. Sinubukan nila ituloy yung friendship nila kahit mahirap na at may feelings nang involve. Para sa akin, happy ending na yun kasi hindi sila nagkalimutan pagkatapos lang magkaaminan. Hirap ituloy yung friendship kasi mahihirapan si Carson makalimot pero ayun, try pa rin. Nakakainis lang nung umamin ka tas hinalikan eh, ano yon?? Pero thumbs ako sa pagiging gentleman at true best friend ni Dio. Pero aminin nating lahat, I don't think Dio doesn't know that Carson love him, shunga at manhid na lang ang walang alam.

Never had a male bestfriend but the movie made me questioned what might have been if I were in Carson's place. Kudos to JP Habac, he mention the movie few times in their podcast. I'm glad I was able to sat and watch the movie in full. Totally, worth it!

I like how after 7 yrs, when she finally deemed her time was up the moment Pathy returned from the restroom, Carson never wasted time or acted like she wanted to spend more time with him anymore. Parang committed and determined na talaga siyang mag give-up and move on. Nakinig siya sa sarili niyang music instead of willingly connecting it to the stereo and share her music with everyone. And she immediately put her ipod back in her back nung ihahatid na siya, kahit wala na si Pathy at sila nalang dalawa ni Dio. It was like symbolizing how she's cutting off her connection with him and closing off her world from him. Or at least, that must be what it's like for Dio. To Dio, music defines the person. What kind of music and songs a person listen to tells him what kind of person they are and whether to trust them or not. For strangers, it's a test. For his best friend, it's the portal to her world. Nung hindi na willing mag share ng music si Carson, paramg hindi narin si Dio allowed sa mundo niya, and that must have hurt. For both of them. As best friends. Being best friends, entrance to each other's worlds was one of their privileges. Was he trying to make the seconds they spent longer? Did he want all her attention to himself (that's why he took her ipod away from her)? Or did he want her to tell him or hint to him that he can still keep the key to her world? Things are still unclear. And _he's_ the one who's running out of time. She didn't even accept his butterball; she didn't even _his_ invitation to _his_ inner world. He's the one who has been desperate to have more time more than anyone in this movie from the start. Three years ago, Carson wasn't the only one who has been delaying, _procrastinating._ 7 years now, Carson isn't the only one scared, truly scared out of her wits. Spontaneous, selfish, and confused. Dio has been making tests and testing fate to see which, who, or what he'll choose. With his best friend slowly backing away from his life, he has never been more desperate, scared, and confused, more than ever in his life. He was literally running away from _everything,_ the graduation ceremony symbolizing this _"everything."_ But Carson was there; she chose this "everything" and despite being scared of "everything," Dio didn't want to lose Carson, _his_ Carson. So he decided to stop running away and come back to "everything" where Carson was. Let's be honest. Carson was brave. She was braver than him and he knew it. He needed her the most to remedy his cowardly tendencies where it mattered most. But thankfully, his hope comes in the form of beer. They still have alcohol to connect them to each other. She didn't want to share her music, share his candy, but she would never reject his invitation to drink. Beer, his only key and last hope left.

this is my second time watching this. i really really love the storyline of this movie, the soundtrack, cinematography, and everything! i love the pain this movie gaves me.

Have watched this piece for three times now, one time each years. And will always watch this until he knows. What ever happens, happens.

I loved the story because of its realisticness. That's the way most friendships continue and not how most films show us a happy ever after in love.

This movie is the epitome of what an indie filipino movie is. It is the essence of what a movie should do, take you somewhere else but at the same time stroll you around places you know best.

I not sure If I'm still Carson... but one thing is for sure, I was once ..Carson

Umamin ako sa kaibigan ko after 6 years ng pagtatago ng feelings na meron ako para sa kanya. In the end, may iba na rin pala siya. I remember saying to her the same lines that Maja said to Paulo when he said sorry to her. And I told her na: "Hindi mo naman kailangang mag-sorry. Hindi mo naman kasalanan na hindi mo ako mahal." And then after that I'm watching this movie again. Even if the truth hurts, I'm just gonna have to accept na there's always that thin line that I wouldn't be able to cross just to be with her. Not anymore. Kahit masakit na tanggapin na hanggang kaibigan na lang, siguro nga hanggang doon na lang. Hanggang dito na lang.

Whatching this movie made me realize how mature I really am. thank you for giving this such a wonderful film and by giving justice for the role on each character on this story. 🥰🥰 salute to all cast and director. 😍😍😍

Unpopular opinion: no need for a sequel. Parang what happens after that ending is for the audience to decipher. Give it an air of mystery. Just my two-cents. Anw, ang ganda neto movie. At sa mga gaya kong mag isa ngayon dahil sa ECQ, good luck!

Ayokong magpaka hopeful dito pero observations ko lang sa movie. And this is my fave movie of all time. *Nung nag Iloveyou si Dio kay Carson nung kumanta sya ng Lloydy. May chance na tulad ni Carson, may hidden feelings din syang sinusurpress. *Before sila umalis papunta ELYU nag uusap si Jayson Ty and Carson sa bahay ni Jayson. Naririnig ni Dio na sya pinag-uusapan. May chance na alam ni Dio na mahal sya ni Carson matagal na. *Every kotse scene is gold. *Speaking of Kotse scene. Yung unang hinatid ni Dio si Pathy with an H kasi gusto nya makasama si Carson ng matagal and makalipat si Carson sa tabi nya. *The entire time na nag ddrive si Dio, halos di nya tinitingnan si Pathy with an H. Lagi nyang sinisilip si Carson sa backseat. *Sabi ni Dio na di sya mag mamarch pero ginawa nya. *Yung mata ni Dio nung tumabi sya kay Carson at nagsorry. *Kung wala kang feelings sa isang tao, lalo na if bestfriend mo, tapos lasing kayo, most likely, pag magconfess sayo, tatawanan mo muna. Or baka sabihan pa na "parang tanga to." Pero nung nag confess si Carson, Minomol sya ni Dio with emotions and passion. May something sa scene na yun na di na kailangan ng words. *Sa may ending. Nung kumakain si Carson with her family. Tinanong ng Mom nya kung nasan yung best friend mo. Sabi ni Carson, nagpaiwan sa ELYU. She's refering to Jayson Ty. Hindi si Dio. So, di na sila bestfriend ni Dio? Or di na sila magbestfriend nalang? *After ng graduation, si Carson yung pinuntahan ni Dio. And hindi si Pathy with an H. Maybe this is not jusy another "nafriendzoned" movie.

I've been watching this movie for how many times. And I can't promise if I will never watch it again. A film that feeds my weary heart and soul.

One of best Filipino films I've seen this year so far. The execution, the soundtrack, and the story aren't over the top. But what I love most about this movie is the last scene. Not a cliffhanger pero binigay sa manonood ang kalayaan na mag-isip kung ano-ano ang mga nasa isip ng dalawang bida sa mga oras na 'yon. (2)

The movie is somehow comforting for the ones who loved someone for so long despite of not being reciprocated.

Can we all agree how underrated this film is? The filmography, the characters, the soundtracks. Carson and Dio live rent-free in my head. ♥️

I watched the movie for the nth time, still doesn't dissapoint. It has been a comfort. I'm inlove with the cinematography + perfect soundtracks. I'll keep on rewatching this gem.

Grabe, bat ngayun ko lang to napanuod. My heart, when Carson said she finally graduate 🥺. I had a friend that i like for 3-4 yrs dunno i forgot to count and i want to confess after we graduated but the timing is not for me. I've been supporting him from a far when he passed board exam. I search for his name and congratulate him. I'm so so happy for him. Hiiiiii, John I'm okay now. I know if we crossed our path i don't feel anything.

Watching that ending in the theater is an experience. Legit. I'll never forget it.

As the lights closed, carson realizes the similar situation. She then starts to accept the reality, finds the humor and pain, and the wonders of it all. She graduated. And now for the new chapter.

Do you guys realize what's so great about this movie aside from the realistic story line? Everything about this story is just so natural especially the acting. Every bit of it, even the way they throw lines at each other was so natural and it is just so refreshing. Kudos to the team. You did a pretty great job in this movie, like always 🎉💙

i was like carson....for years i have been secretly in love with my bestfriend, i listened to all his rants about his life, i have seen how broken he was for other girl...it hurts me seeing him in pain and crying to the point that the thought came like "bakit kasi di na lang ako" at the back of my mind. nasasaktan siya sa iba, habang ako nasasaktan para sakanya lol i was a one call away friend, kahit prelims,midterms, finals ko and all sasamahan ko siyang uminom or kahit anong trip niya dahil broken siya lol. i never got the chance to tell him how I feel back then bc i'm afraid na baka madamay yung friendship namin bc it was genuine....it is something you never want to lose. Until one day, i decided to lie low or take a break...We rarely seen each other, talk with each other as in iniwasan ko siya and he was like "miss na kita, di na kita nakakasabay umuwi/nakakausap" grabe yung pagpipigil ko non HAHAHA kase idk maybe at some point nagkagusto din siya sakin? because of the way he cared for me? madalas nga kaming mapagkamalang magjowa dati lol pero bestfriend lang talaga baka na-overwhelmed lang ako sa ginagawa niya at binigyan ko lang ng malisya? up until now hindi niya alam na nagkagusto ako sakanya HAHAHAA i have made a tons of poems about him pinabasa ko sakanya yung isa kase sakto required siya sa subject ko. not knowing that it was all about him lol HAHHAHAHAA wala lang skl. Now, i have moved on from him and happy with my partner and siya din hehe bestfriends pa din kami hanggang ngayon. Maybe, not telling him how i feel back then was one of the best decision in my life....maybe some people are meant to be just friends.

"Graduate na ko! - Carson" LOL! NA OL HAHAHA. As someone who's been in love with her best friend for 10 years now, i can totally relate to Carson. The way she hugged her mom right after she went home, the pain is real, it's almost unbearable to be honest, you feel your heart's literally crushing from the inside. And the word "I'M SORRY" from Dio, that word alone shatters a heart of an unrequited lover, it'll build up anxiety, confusion, degrading of self esteem, it'll make them question themselves if they are unworthy, in my case it led to depression. Y'all people out there, if ever your best friend decided one day to confessed to you that they love you please be considerate, i'm not saying reciprocate, if you feel the same way then that's a blessing but if not, turn them down in the most gentle way possible, it is not their fault they love you, it isn't your fault either you don't feel the same, be honest, tell them exactly why you can't accept their love, you don't know how much courage it took for them to blurt it all out, you have no idea how long they have been debating with themselves whether to tell you or keep it with them till grave. You don't need to have an answer right away, both of you might need some time away from each other, it might help, but please know, they are always waiting for an answer, they will always be waiting... This is a GREAT movie, can't believe I've only seen this now. This one should be on NETFLIX..

Sometimes I just watch underrated films to find underrated songs then eventually end up liking the whole film.

ANG GANDA TALAGA NG MOVIE NA TOOOO!!! binalewala ko lang to way back 2017 and i came upon it again last week dito and i am hooked! 2nd time watching it and will be watching it again and again and again!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
