Geniuses like Min. Whitfield come around only once or twice every 100 years. His arrangements captured the essense of what music, particularly gospel music, can do to the soul. Some music just sounds good on the surface, but his music tended to stir you on a deeper level...a place not often reached...a place where we don't often go ourselves. He was a once in a lifetime talent.
Yes. Gwen is Bishop's sister. Denise Morton, who also sang with Thomas Whitfield, is also a sister. Denise is in the "Oh How I Love Jesus" Thomas Whitfield video on youtube.
This man right here was a musical prodigy. LOVE Dr. Whitfield! This was the signature song we would open service with a Greater Faith MBC every Sunday when I was Minister of Music.
Saturday Night Sing! Lolol omg I remember watching this as a lil kid and loving the Whitfield Company even then. The bass, Gwen, it all stood out! Love it! Post more!!

Keep given us who never saw him, glimpses through this video and computer age, I listen to his music at a time when I hit rock bottom, and yes I was encouraged, He is gone from this little planet, because GOD is so big and vast, he is with him in that beautiful place call heaven.
