I don't remember much about 7th grade science, but I do remember my teacher would jump on his desk to get our attention or stand on chairs. We'd have running jokes, he'd always talk to us about real life stuff. He probably knew that most of us were struggling and didn't want to be there...but somehow made going to science something we looked forward to anyway. You do the same for your kids, and that will be something they will remember forever!
You're such an inspiration for me I'm an English teacher in Venezuela. You've helped me so much with your ideas since last year. Our country is living a horrible economic crisis. Most people don't eat more the twice a day 'cuz everything is really expensive, and for us as teachers is devastating to see our students in a such hard situation. But I can't wait to watch your videos, so I can get more ideas to cheer my students and give them the best learning experience. So thank you for being so positive, for doing all this work for us, you are a blessing! Best regards from Venezuela.😘❤️🇻🇪
This video was such a perfect way to start my Sunday. (Not gonna lie, I've got some lesson planning any coffee to go along with it.) But these past few weeks have been extremely stressful in my school. No one helps us with our SGOs and we've had to redo them countless times. Observations with a new administrator left teachers in tears. But the kids truly are the best part of the job. I hope that your days continue to be stress-free, but it is so nice to watch your videos and see someone out there can completely relate! Thank you for sharing!!! :)
Glad you were able to get away, relax with some friends and recharge!! One of my coworkers said to me the dust begins to settle in November for newbies (I know you're not new to teaching but a new school, new grade, new curriculum). I am sort of finally starting to feel that way!
You are an amazing teacher. I totally wish I could work in your district and sub for you. You have such a loving personality and care for your students like no other. I enjoy watching your videos.
It's so hard to find time to go grocery shopping on the weekends when you run a business! My sister had parents in her classroom for AEW too this week. I would be so stressed haha! I'm glad to see you are taking more time for yourself, friends + family
I’m currently student teaching and there are days where I feel great and I tell myself that I’m right for teaching but there are days where I doubt myself and wonder if I picked the right career. Watching your vlogs make me feel better about teaching but still nervous about my first year 😅
She should really go on that show! In all the vlog's she posts with that in there she ALWAYS gets it right! I want to be a teacher when i am older so i look up to you!
I love when you put the jeopardy clips with you answering the questions in the vlog!! Also I have been writing you a long letter that I need to send soon!! I really want to be a teacher when I grow up!! Love you Ms. Michelle!!
Watched this from my hospital bed this week! Love your vlog Michelle! You are so dedicated. I’m currently on maternity leave with my first child, and I wrote 33 pages of procedures and info for my long term sub! Yikes! Sub plans are so time consuming! Glad you aren’t as stressed this week!
Here in the Northern Plains, we go out for recess until the temp/wind chill is below zero...neat to see how things are done in different places! Really enjoying your videos!
As a first year teacher, I feel so overwhelmed just imagining what all you get done in a week! I wish I could manage making my class more fun but right now it is so much just figuring everything out and getting by...I only hope to have a better handle on things like you do in a few years! I’m just looking forward to getting past this stage of “what did I get myself into?” lol...I teach first grade in a Title 1 school, btw.
I know you’re probably not going to see this comment, but I really really love your videos. I’m about to graduate high school so I have to figure out what I want to do with my life and your videos really inspire me to become a teacher. You’re so creative and just based off your videos it’s evident that you absolute love your students and you’re so passionate about everything that you do. You have such a big heart and even just watching your videos touches my hear. I hope you had an amazing weekend with all your friends ❤️
Omg, that's miserable. I'm from TN and if it's below 40, it's not happening. Usually, if it's below 50, I'm probably going to choose inside recess. I hate the cold.
karla dake It’s been below 40 degrees all week here! Even colder on some days, but 40 or below the entire time. It’s not bad if you’re used to it. I don’t even break out my winter coat unless it’s below 40 & don’t get the parka out unless it’s below thirty for more than a few days. I live a little over an hour south of the Iowa Minnesota border. 😅
Lol, I live in Yellowknife Canada. We stay outside until -30. If it is colder than -30 we have indoor recess. This year we had indoor recess for 6 weeks.
I️ went to McDonald’s for breakfast twice last week.. Like you said, I️ know it’s not good for you, but it’s so good and definitely better than nothing :) haha
Exactly +That One Happy Classroom . Truthfully , I enjoy McDonald's too . I say that as long as you know that you are doing what you know is right for you let everything else go . By the way , I think that you look beautiful .
I️ always create to-do lists for my day and I️ never get through everything on the list. I️ need to start being more realistic! I’m glad you’re feeling less stressed! The last month has been hard, but now that Thanksgiving break is practically here I’m feeling a lot better too.
I love all of your videos!! In a few you have mentioned not being able to make it to the grocery store and I totally feel your pain! During the weekend I refuse to go due to lack of time and crowds and during the week I’m too tired after teaching all day! A few of the local popular grocery stores here do curbside service and it is LIFE CHANGING! I simply put my basket together online and drive to the store. Done! It’s definitely worth a try and so beneficial for teachers!! Thanks for all your videos!
Natalie Bullinger it’s not only teachers that have that struggle. Pretty much a lot of working people do. Is there a charge for the curbside service? Do you have to tip them? That sounds like a great service!
DottyGale8 Understood. But Michelle is a teacher and so am I, therefore I’m writing this from a perspective that we can both relate to. I only started teaching this year after 15 years of working in a bank. I used to grocery shop after work, but after being on my feet all day long at school, the last thing I want to do is walk through a grocery store. At the store I shop at (HEB) your first four pickups are free then it’s $4.99 per order. I’ve done the math though and the extra stuff that I pick up (that isn’t on my list) from walking through the store is usually more than that. But I’ve also heard that participating Walmarts do it for free. And no, you don’t tip them.
Natalie Bullinger My point was that curbside service could help many of us out here - teachers AND non-teachers. And I was trying to learn more about it. I wonder if my HEB has that. (Kinda sorry I asked now, though. 🙁)
I agree, but I was commenting to Michelle and therefore I showed it from the teacher's point of view. Not all HEB's do it, normally only the larger ones and the Plus stores participate. I actually go to the second closest HEB to me because the tiny store closest to me doesn't do it yet. But if you go to HEB.com it'll show you the locations where curbside is available
Natalie Bullinger Again, I was simply saying that the service could be useful for many of us - teachers AND non-teachers. And now I’m convinced I wish I hadn’t asked more about it or expressed the good feeling to know such a service existed. Dang. 😕 Forget I commented. 😕
not sure if you’ve already done this, or even have a unit for it, but you should do the gummy bear experiment with your students! good way to learn about osmosis. it’s really cool, trust me’
I loved watching the Jeopardy Tournament of Champions knowing you were watching too! I didn’t get “buckeye” but I got “Aristotle and Plato” - I answer just like you, so I’ll have trouble if I’m ever on it. Putting it in the form of a question takes too long! Happy Thanksgiving, and you are amazing!
Marge Paz oatmeal is only healthy on certain plans. The lifestyle I follow, oatmeal is not a healthy choice. Neither is the biscuit. Lol The sausage is a healthy choice for me though. So, just saying that not everyone follows the same eating plan. Oatmeal is not healthy on everyone’s plan. Peace.
I’m so glad you could get sometime to yourself ! Make sure you still keep with that goal of treating yourself to something you enjoy (other than coffee ) everyday ! You deserve it :)
I’m a stressed out teacher Mom! I know you are not a mother, but I would LOVE to see a morning routine video. Do you have one? I wish I could have my hair dry good!!
Hi Michelle! Love your vlogs hope you had a great time in Nebraska and your grandfather is doing well from the surgery :) Next time you go to Dunkin Donuts and get hot coffee, get it with the maple pecan favor swirl if they have it as an option. My mom tried the coffee today with that flavor and she LOVED IT SO MUCH!! Hope you have a great gobble gobble day and break with your friends and family!!
I never thought about leaving a treat for my sub (and this is coming from a vet). Not that I'm excited to get a sub so I can try this, lol, but I will definitely remember to do it. Thanks for sharing that!
Drinking my Dunkin Donuts coffee while watching your videos - I️ saw a sign for an iced coffee and immediately thought of your channel, Lol! They really need to sponsor you - on the other hand, their iced caramel lattes are the bomb!
Omg no!! I would ENCOURAGE my students to kill the cricket. I would make a game out of it and give them Resses for doing it the fastest!! (PS. I hate bugs) 😂
So jealous you have fall weather Michelle. In Southern California it's going to be in the 90s for Thanksgiving... question. I noticed on your slides it doesn't change your cute fonts! I've tried embedding my fonts and when I open it on my laptop at school, it changes all my fonts 😣Hope you or someone sees this to help a teacher out!
What?!?!? I don't remember you saying that you were going to Nebraska. Darn it! I live in Nebraska (just moved here about 5 months ago). We could have met up :( Hope you enjoyed your visit there, though.
Michelle, can you do a video with Secret Santa suggestions for (school staff) coworkers? I loved the Blue Envelope idea but would appreciate more.. loved the vlog btw! Happy Thanksgiving ❤️🙏🏾
Hey ! I love your vlogs and have been loving them for more than a year now ! I'm saying that because i would love to have more info in your vlogs about what your doing with your kids ? What kind of activities ? how did you explain fractions for example ?
