Aaron - thanks so much for your transparency and support for the Lexapro community! Two questions for you- 1- can you do more on the link between lexapro and weight gain? 2- do you belong to a faith community and, if so, can you talk about any experiences you’ve had with that community related to your antidepressant use? (Example: you don’t need it; you should pray more; you should have more faith; etc.)
I finished my 1st week on Lexapro and am anticipating 3 more weeks or more of hell, maybe not. I know a lot of folks are also taking Benzos for help, but I was just prescribed gabapentin as a helper drug. It did help with sleep very well, but I woke up in anxiety hell. I guess this is called progress? Again, I thank you for your inspiring videos that have helped reduce my anxiety of taking meds. That's always a big one for everyone. But as one person told me, they are tools like a wrench or a screwdriver, you use them when you need to and put them back in the tool box when you are OK to do so. That's my plan, and I'm sticking to it!
Man it looks so green and beautiful out wherever you live! At least in the glimpses we get to see outside your work van haha! Glad everything's coming along well with you.
Anxiety island sounds like hell 😂😂 man, I can't wait until I can say I haven't needed breathing techniques in a long time. Currently watching this and doing my ole trusty favorite: 4,7,8 🥴
I’m still on 10 mg about 3-4 months now this last 30 days are really stressful but it’s going ok. My wife and I are not doing to well in marriage and it’s not working out right. Ok. Thanks buddy bro 😎
I’ve been on 5 mg for about a year and a half. Thinking about cutting to 2.5. Just wanted to know how hard your transition was and if you think it’ll be a huge change. I’m mainly cutting down because I’ve been having some annoying side effects and want to lessen them. Tell me your thoughts Aaron. Btw congrats on the baby news!
Lexapro did wonders for my anxiety but sexual side effects, emotional blunting and just not feeling like myself was enough for me to get off it,switched to Buspar and have been content ever since but now also looking to end that as well as I don't want to be on meds for life!!! Thanks for sharing!
Aaron, do you actually know, that only 10mg is already a medical dose, but lower ones (like 5 or even 2.5mg) are just adjustments. So wander, if you should "play" this. Perhaps, try to stay either totally lexapro free or up to 10mg, so that you know you use this medication. Otherwise, it's a bit tricky on yourself. Not sure, just my opinion...
Aaron I’m that person that has mine sitting in my drawer to afraid to try it I’ve tried two others years ago for short amounts of time and had bad side effects but man is this anxiety and depression kicking my ass how do I make the plunge and stop living in fear. I to find myself doing breathing techniques just to go to the store or sometimes I just catch myself doing them to slow my breathing I’m like wow this out of control. I hope you continue to do well cheers !
I’ve been on lexapro for almost 4 weeks now. My nightmares feel so real and are horrible. And I have constant heavy chest. Will this stuff improve. I’m seeing a therapist once a week and my primary wants to see my go to 6 weeks before we switch meds. The melatonin and hydroxyzine don’t seem to be working for me at all to sleep through the night. I feel like I’m improving with social situations and learning to drive again. But I’ve been in the hospital 5 times the last 6-7 weeks now. Will this all improve in time?
