I have 3 of these machines because they are outstanding, probably the best MULTICHANNEL SACD player ever. They can uniquely alter the speaker to listener distance in the DSD domain. Even Oppo 205 can’t do that. Good luck finding a working laser. They are available only from China, and they are not calibrated. Most arrived damaged. To calibrate you need the right calibration disks from Sony - no longer available. There is a modification that Marantz issued as a service note for their machine with this same laser. It piggy backs a surface mount resister to another one on the laser board to effectively increase power to laser. I haven’t tried it myself yet. I have kept my machine going using lasers from donor machines. I hope you find a source of lasers and I will be interested to see how you do with this.
