They can't be stopped. The 1975 have become something more than just a band. They're a decade and generation-defining force of sonic manifestation of ourselves as love-sick, weary, strange, and anxious teens to thirty-somethings who want so much more from life than what we have. Every ten years or so, a band like this comes along that delivers song after song, album after album bliss that can't be contained or replicated. I truly believe Being Funny in a Foreign Language is going to send them over the top.
I agree and tbh I actually agree with the autotune in this case cuz how could they perform a song that only just came out I don’t usually agree with the autotune comments but yeah this is different 🤔🤔🤔🥰🥰
"I'm In Love With You" Heart beat Is coming in so strong Oh if you don't stop, I'm gonna need a second one There's something I've, been meaning to Say to you baby (all night long) Yeah there's something I've, been meaning to Say to you baby but I just can't do it In my car, moving in Feeling it can loosen my lips I can summarize it for you, it's simple and it goes like this I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- Broad sheet, reading down the list of it going wrong I'm getting no sleep, tossing and turning all night long Somewhere I've been meaning to, take the conversation (all night long) Yeah there's somewhere I've been meaning to, take the conversation but I just can't do it Just show me the back of it, pretending I don't know what it is I can summarize it for you, it's simple and it goes like this I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- We got it, found it just got to keep it Don't fuck it, you muppet, it's not that deep I'm not at my best, make an excuse One, Two I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I- I'm in love with you, I- I- I- I- I-
They're already pretty big, about to headline Reading this weekend and go on a North American Tour with a lot of dates sold out already. But it still surprises me that they aren't even bigger. I've been a fan since the first time I heard Chocolate playing in the music section of a Hastings Entertainment store back in 2013. I know a lot of their material is a bit more expansive and some of their genre tries have been polarizing. But songs like Too Shy, Somebody Else, The Sound, Love it if We Made it, I Always Wanna Die, It's Not Living, Heart Out, Robbers, and now this incredibly catchy song. And the list could go on and on. But those songs have such mainstream pop appeal that it seems like if almost any band put out that line up of songs, they would be possibly the biggest band in the world. Those aren't even my favorites, but seem the most accessible and ear-wormy. I'm not saying I want them to be the world's biggest band. But it genuinely surprises me when I talk to someone and they don't know if they've even heard one The 1975 song. A lot of people I know have no clue who they are. This kind of shocks me. They play on indie and alt rock radio in Kansas City fairly often, just going off of where I'm located. But even Twenty One Pilots get heavy play on mainstream pop stations here in the States as well as added onto so many different kinds of streaming playlists. I feel like The 1975 could touch so many more people in a positive way if they could just get a bit more of a spotlight. Maybe BFIAFL will be even more of a breakout album than ILIWYS or ABIIOR. If I'm in Love With You is anything to go by, this could become their biggest moment so far. I could see this easily being their biggest song ever if the studio version sounds really good. I liked Part of the Band and Happiness, but both of those songs sounded like them playing around with sounds and style similarly to NOACF, and that album had mixed results and was a hard sell to a populist crowd (even though I loved the majority of it.) Either way, I can't wait to see them in December on tour. Haven't seen them live yet, nor have I been to a concert since way before the pandemic began. I'm super pumped. I really hope this new era is awesome for the fans, but the band specifically too. The 1975 have brought such joy into my life in the last decade, and I want to see them all thrive personally, and for their music to reach more people.
I would say they’re one of the biggest bands of the last decade? If not the biggest, consistently selling out arena tours and headlining huge festivals! Not many bands who are around right now (excluding pop groups, little mix etc who are not bands) Could sell out 2 nights at the O2 after their second album.
@@prestonk.m.9259 they’re huge in the US, as you can tell by the amount of 15000+ seater venues they’re selling out all over the country. And in Europe and Asia as well, their albums have reached number 1 in over 20 countries! Definitely well known world wide. I mean they’re headlining summer sonic in Japan to 75000 people?😂
@@Serioustwister If you say so. Almost no one in my general orbit has even heard of the band. And look at their streaming numbers on Spotify compared to a lot of other modern age bands.
@@prestonk.m.9259 Spotify doesn’t show you their most streamed songs, only the most currently listened to ones. When they won their 2nd Brit award it was said they were streamed over 4Billion times! And that was in 2019. You can’t compare their numbers to the likes of maroon 5 and 21 pilots 😂 they have over 2Billion streams on Spotify alone all together
@@MadailinBurnhope Yeah I think it will be next month after all. I had thought at the time I made that comment that Happiness came out four weeks ago. They usually space the singles out roughly four weeks apart, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's released as the third single between next Wednesday and Friday. Happiness wasn't announced it would be releasing as a single until one to two days before if memory serves. I'm in Love With You will release as a single, and then most likely one more single will come out around start of October if I had to bet on it. That would be four singles total before the album releases. Notes had seven singles before the full length release and Brief Inquiry had five I recall, but both of those albums were longer in length. Notes literally had twice as many tracks as BFIAFL. That's why I have high hopes for this album that there is less bloat and more condensed focus, and that it will be more of a return to form. Notes was really the first regression in quality and reception in terms of the order of studio albums, even though I still loved most of it and ILIWYS is stilp my favorite. But the new record already has the potential of being their most mature work musically and emotionally, as well as having the sharpest wit lyrically. All that without losing the adolescent and nostalgic quality of their previous work. Even based on their first live performance back after two years, they seem more stripped down and totally in sync as a group, which is beautiful to see. I can't wait to see what this new era brings.
I really love their new songs, especially this one. The music video was equally fun and aesthetically pleasing. I love that Matty can showcase his love for dancing. 💙 I've loved this Band since the first time I heard Somebody Else and I haven't stopped since.
So far the two singles from the new album have the earlier first two album feeling. The third and fourth i didnt buy it. I have the first, second and pre ordered/ purchased the new album . Loving the feeling of the first two singles.

1975 Changed my life. Songs that reach my soul. Never ever could I imagine feeling the way I hear the 1975. My Dad told me in 2013 that the 1975 will the best. He is so right. Can't wait to see them.
Any other musicians hearing some pitch correction artifacts, obviously the pitch is unnatural and as a singer you'll pick it up straight away, but particularly in the bridge you can hear the high frequency twitching indicative of real time correction over vocals that are inbetween notes or with high vibrato. At 3:31 you can hear an especially obvious hard tuning fixing a distorted and strained vocal, always sounds unnatural because it tunes the overtones (distortion) as well as the fundamental, which isn't what human voices do outside of Kargyraa. Got nothing against using it live now that it's so CPU cheap, and obviously improves the show for most people (not many people out there who prefer real vocals like me), but I just wonder what fans would think if they knew. Personally because it suits this song, it's not a big deal for me, but I'd hate to hear it on a more emotional track so I wonder if they use it all show.
They have been a band for almost two decades I think if the auto tune helps them still play I don’t care if they use it. Matty has been touring a long time meanwhile smoking cigarettes and living the rockstar lifestyle although their not a rock band has probably laid some effect. Not trying to be rude, but I think a little grace is understood.
