After spending 50 months in Latin America, it is time for me to bid farewell. In this video, I have captured some of the most memorable moments of my last week in Mexico City. From the next video onwards, we will be embarking on another exciting adventure in Asia.
During my last week in Mexico City, I took a round trip on the Cablebus line 2 from Constitucion de 1917. The fare was 7 pesos, but unfortunately my old metro card didn't work. I wasn't sure if they had an upgraded card or if a separate one was needed for the cablebus, so I attempted to purchase a new card there. However, they were sold out, so I had to pay another passenger in cash to enter.
The cablebus cabins can accommodate around 10 people and are a regular mode of transportation for people living uphill. It's a great way to save time and provide security. I was advised that the surrounding area was not safe to walk around in, so I decided to take a round trip and didn't leave the station.
I visited the Hello Kitty Cafe in San Angel, which is classified as a chateau, while there's another one in Polanco that is simply a cafe. Both locations serve similar items, but the chateau has a small Sanrio museum on the second floor that can only be visited with a guided tour. This tour is free for customers.
While the food is relatively pricey, I would recommend the chateau for more photo opportunities. You can reserve a table on their website to ensure availability, but I simply walked in on a weekday afternoon when it wasn't busy.
