While singing, she was explaining her backstory (The start of her singing career) where she joined many singing competitions in the her country Philippines but never won any single one of them and doors close on her. But she says that even though many doors close on her face, she still have her family, friends, loved ones, and her fans that always support her so she felt she was not alone which is true. And she keeps going and going creating her own path to success! Thats why she is Asia's Phoenix! She never won any competitions she auditioned in, which is surprising considering how she sings right now. For now, I consider her incomparable ... and, she is a superstar.

From the Philippines and the language she is speaking is, Tagalog. English is the 2nd official language of the Country. No genre is beyond her and any ong she covers you often will enjoy it more than the original. Mori is the most humble and down to earth arist you'll find, her smile lights up a room and she is playful and happy....just watch any livestream she has done...she did many during Covid, available on YT without restrictions.

I am among those who suggested this, on my comment to your reaction video of her singing "Akin Ka Na Lang". This is one of my favorites of Mori's performances. I completely agree with you, she literally owned the song, with the way she delivered it, with all those growls that conveyed the emotions, plus she gave us a brief narrative of what she went through, in her career, before reaching where she is now, for us to get to know her more. You may not have understood the full message because it was in Taglish (a mix of Tagalog and English, that's how many of us Filipinos speak in casual conversations), but the context is that she started singing and competing at a young age, auditioning in radio and TV stations, singing competitions at the malls, etc. but the "doors were kept closing on her". She did not win the grand prize for any of the talent shows she competed in (like "The Voice of the Philippines"), but she did not give up her dreams, her passion for singing. She continued and moved on, and, acknowledging the support she got from her family, friends, her management, fans, and supporters, she said finally before resuming, "I'm still here!" 🥰 Yes, she did not just sing this song, she embodied it, because it's her song. I still get teary-eyed whenever I watch this performance, and remember that, many years ago, in 2008, when she was about 11, she was singing at a stage in her hometown as a side performance for a celebrity doing show promotions there. She was singing this same song, and nobody was listening to her! People were focused on the celebrity. The people there seemed to ignore her, nobody would have predicted that that girl would someday become what she is today, a great vocalist and performer, the Asia's Phoenix. I never heard the original but I remember someone singing it on AGT and I wasn't impressed with the song. Now that I've heard it sung so much better I understand why it's popular. I'm going to have to check out Beyonce's version sometime to see how it was done originally, but this is pretty great.
Filipino's do that all the time. Most of them speak at least 2 languages (there are a number of them across all the islands) and English is the most popular foreign language so when they speak they constantly toss in English words casually no matter which local dialects they use. My wife speaks Tagalog and Bisaya as well as English (and so does her 6 year-old) so it's a very different culture than most countries. When you go to Church the sermons are really strange to listen to because the pastor speaks in the most common local dialect but will constantly toss in English words (and not for the foreigners' benefit). You get used to it after a while.

In germany whe have denglish what means deutsch + english, but there are just german words mixed randomly into english. Taglish is so weird to me since it starts in full english, like the first 10-15 words or whatever and then just switches to 100% tagalog.
