I'M MAKING BIG PROGRESS SINCE MY ACCIDENT!

Been a little over a month since my last update on my spinal cord and brain injury. I have made a lot of progress since the surgery putting my four head back in. As of lately I have been starting to walk on my own so today I decided to walk around my bike shop for you guys! Big boy was here to help out and he decided to challenge me to get on the bike on my own! So I got on the bike and I decided that I wanted to attempt to roll the bike and keep the balance with my feet! I was so happy I was able to pull it off! After the bike shop we went to my house and I decided to show off the progress I've been making going up and down my stairs. After the stairs I went to the piano and played the song that I played the day I got home from rehab and I showed the footage from the last video to compare the difference and the difference is pretty amazing! I am so proud of my progress and I'm so glad that all of you are alone on this ride with me and inspiring me every day! I'm going to keep on working my butt off until I get back on my bike for you all thank you!

I have never commented on your channel before. With 850+k subs, I'm quite sure you won't read this. I have been watching for a while. Well before the accident. Prior to stumbling on to your channel, my knowledge of BMX was limited to an occasional X-Games view. I am now the biggest fan of the sport thanks to you Scotty and the whole crew. What a great bunch of guys. I was saddened to hear of the accident and wanted to support you. Unfortunately, the best I could do was $20. So prayer and positive thought was the most I could give. Now you have become more than the guy that turned me on to BMX. You are an inspiration. You're amazing attitude through this injury and recovery process has been amazing to watch. Thank you for taking us along for the journey. I hope to see you back on the bike and doing Hang 5's around skate parks again soon. Best wishes to your brother as well. He is an amazing rider too. I don't wanna be "that guy" but I was so scared watching Scotty walk with Big Boy right behind him. Maybe try walking behind Scotty with a gait belt, or with your arms under his arm pits? Whenever I have to walk my residents that are super limited in mobility, that's what we do in case they fall, stumble or lean. I know Big Boy would dive for Scotty if he had to, but watching him walk behind Scotty with just his arms there to catch him had be so nervous. Beside that point, I'm stoked on this progress! Keep it up, man! We're all cheering for you!

Scott you're an absolute legend. I suffered a broken l5/s1 and my buddy suffered a severe c6 injury, (different accidents). Doctors gave him a 5% chance to walk again and told me if I didn't have surgery i'd be suffering from severe pain the rest of my life. Here we both are 4 years later just finishing a leg day including dead lifts and power cleans never feeling better. Love what you do and are cheering for you, it's incredible what a human body can come back from with the right attitude and support from those around. One step at a time!

Watching this video is very inspirational. My kids watch Scotty's videos all the time. My kids & I race BMX in Chula Vista, Ca. We were at the track when Sam Willoughby fell & broke his neck. I was the third person by his side. So watching Scotty stand up & riding his bike gave me goose bumps just like the first I saw the video when Sam stood up for the first time. Congratz Scotty & keep moving forward one step at a time bro. I was kind of a fan before but now I'm a big fan.

As soon as Scotty's news of crashing was released, I donated and commented that not only would Scotty fight to make it through this, he would be on a bike again one day AND quicker than people think. A bunch of "realists" tried to deny it saying don't get your hopes up, and stuff like "he'd be lucky to even walk again let alone stay alive" and all this other bs. I said what I said because I've seen it dozens of times, people with similar devasting injuries, when you take someone with a highly positive, champion type mindset like Scotty has and put them against a serious obstacle like this, they find a way. Mindset is everything. They said he'd be lucky to be alive. He's alive. They said he'd be lucky to even walk again. He's walking. He'll never ride again ? Look at him on a bike, that's 1 giant step towards riding again. And he will ride again. Im not saying its an easy journey but he'll get there.

Yeah so the "realists" were correct. He is lucky to be alive and he is lucky to be able to walk and hopefully recovered fully in the long run and the doctors would tell you the same thing, he is lucky to be where he is today. A positive mindset is important for recovery, but your stance on bashing people who are supporting Scotty from a realistic standpoint because you want to believe everything is always going to be perfect because you wished it is just ignorant dude. We all want Scotty to get better, and many of us, including myself, also donated to his cause. Get your head out of your ass.

Laminated Weasel No it's people who underestimate the power of the mind who are ignorant. And u didn't see the comments I was referring to, and I didn't describe them verbatim, so that gave you an opportunity to twist what I was saying for the sake of making a counter point. I'm talking about the people who straight up said he'll never be on a bike again let alone walk. I was bashing the people on the far negative side. Not so much the people with a more centered point of view. And I'm not so far on the other side where it's naive positivity. I've just studied this in depth. Athletes who are told they won't ever compete again. But not only do they compete, they come back better. I subscribed to this channel a while back because the very first video I could see that Scotty had attained that special "champion" style mindset. When he broke his spine look how fast he bounced back. Yes certain things you can't control, but I'm talking beyond that. You know there are people in this world who, if they were in the same situation, they'd let the tragic circumstance completely ruin their life. Mindset can make that difference between allowing the situation to ruin you or not. And sometimes those people who lack that "positive, success driven focus" type of mentality project failure on to others because that's their perspective.

Man Scotty thats so great. I was also paralyzed after two strokes and i lost my speech and mobility and fought back to get where i was before. I used to love building giant scale rc planes that i flew and showed off at local meets. After the strokes i coudnt even hold the radio little lone build anything. Thatt was my joy and life but after 2 years of non stop therapy i can now speek and move around and build almost as well as i used to. So keep up the fight and you will be doing what you love in no time. It will be just a small blip in the whole scheme of things and an experience to look back at in the future. The most important thing is your beautiful wife just like mine she was my rock as i imagine your wife is yours.

Man. I watch these videos, and I am just overwhelmed by the positive and encouraging behavior displayed by every single one of these guys that I so rarely find in RU-vid vloggers. I mean, no one is perfect, that's for sure. But that doesn't mean we can't try to be as uplifting as possible to those around us. I see that quality for sure in these guys' actions and words in every video they post. Keep up the great videos, Scotty Cranmer crew. You guys are the very foundation of BMX riding. I cannot agree more. . this youtube channel has changed into something that exceeds just BMX. we all became some weird family after Scotty's accident. . And as he grows stronger by the day.
