This was great, I been tryin to find out about "how to make scented candles for beginners" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Peyadison Peerless Prestige - (do a search on google ) ? It is a good one off product for discovering how to make candles for fun or money minus the normal expense. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my mate got great success with it.
I'm so glad that hot wax went on the cabinet and floor and not on you! That would be horrible! You did an amazing job. I would make a huge mess! You will have to show us when you light Steve's big red candle! EYL!!
Your husband is so supportive. I’m sure you realize not every woman has one of those. I was sad when the wax spilled, but you thought of plastic razor, and zipped through that mess. Those candles were astronomically gorgeous, and I don’t exaggerate. You could almost name your price if you wanted to sell them. I loved your Costco bowls. What a great rainy day craft!
@@StevenStephResaleKillers I can't see the point of those black holders for candles. How are you going to get any light? Holders have to be glass, so you can see the flame through them as it slowly recedes down the container. When it gets to the bottom, there will be little oxygen to keep the flame going, and you won't be able to see it through the black metal!
Your candles in the bowls are pretty. Steve's right you do look like a mad scientist on a mission & you even had the sound to back it up. Thank god you didn't burn yourself. Stay safe even indoors, be careful please!
When it gets half way down you won't be able to see the flame! Candle containers need to be in a clear container, so you can see the light, as it burns down.
If you want to do a fun " lace candle" use a heavy cream carton ( paper ) chop up ice fill carton with fine pieces pour wax over it. Let it cool then cut carton away and drain water out. Will be Lacey and candle light flickers through holes . We made lots of lace ice candles as kids with mom
OMG Steph, that is a lot of candles. I'm a little jelly. Those bowls are super cute! Purple is my favorite color. Love all the bowls but the purple one is awesome. Smart to fill up your container with pieces instead of melting all of it. Those planters are perfect for candles. Looks really nice. And you can move them to where ever you want them. OMG, I was cringing when you spilled the wax. I had a big three wick candle on a stand and the side burned through and spilled wax on my carpet. I left it not knowing how to clean it up. My mom visited and ironed paper towels on top of the wax to get it out of the carpet. Long process but worked pretty well.
You don't know how good they turned out don't take your talents lightly. Luv them all you so could sell them or donate also an get rid of the containers your get on your dives i luv this kind of stuff. God Bless an be safe. Sending Luv from Detroit💝💝💝💝
I wish I would of seen this video before I got rid of all my pieces of left over Candles wax, I always said I could melt them and add drops of Candle scents and make new candle, but never thought RU-vid had videos on how to do them.. Yours the best video I seen, love it, now I know what to do..!!!
Great job on re purposing broken candles, they look amazing. How awesome is your hubby cheering you on! I've been saving a coffee mocha candle in a jar to melt down and put into one of my pretty tea cups.
If you put the pieces in zip lock bags and melt them in a double boiler, it's easier to pour and you don't lose the sent in the steam that rises from uncovered containers.
Thanks for the video! I have some old pillar candles that need new life and I'm doing research since I've never done it before; you had some great results with your methods and it was helpful to see!
I had to come back and comment. When you said I don’t want to clean this up I thought about all the messes I’ve made and felt the same way. Your husband is so sweet to support you thru all of this, most would not. Love your dumpster diving larks. And I actually asked if you could show us how you fix some of the treasures rescued. Now we have the time.
That was so much fun to watch! You are SO resourceful, Steph! Some of us always think of projects, but never get around to doing them. I would have to cover the floor and walls with plastic sheeting if I undertook candle pouring, I am such a klutz. 😁 The results were so pretty, and those big planter ones are so impressive - love them!
I don't see the point of her breaking the whole candles into pieces. Why not just burn them whole, then make new ones with the bits left at the end? It is 'you're' using!
Very nice. I found some very nice big candles on barnes & noble. They were all broken and I had no idea how to melt them and make new ones. So, I just put them all in plastic bags. Weeks later I found some real nice pumpkin containers in burlington. They were the peefect containers for my candles. I love it now. Still, this video helps me lots on how to melt candles. Awesome Steph, you're great!
The intro killed me😂 although I felt your pain seeing the mess! Your man’s support and excitement for what you’re doing made me so happy! What a keeper! Have a wonderful day 🤗
Your candles are turning out so good. I remember your first candle video 😀 I have to say my favorite ones are the ones with stands. You have given me some good ideas. Also any candle wax can be removed with a damp towel and iron. From any surface 💕🤗 I hoard candles too. 😂😂
Oh I'm gonna have to try this! I absolutely love candles. So glad you didn't burn yourself! I jumped when you dropped the hot wax. The black ones are my favorite how cool! The little bowls are so adorable. Be cute in a bathroom or kitchen. I like the way you do that I'm all for the quickest easiest way. Great video!!
I jumped both times. The second time I hit the off tab. I am so jumpy all the time. You did a great job. I saw the jar was getting slippery Lol ... But I love your candles. I'm sure there are people that would do it differently, but you did it the way I would have. I love candles. I was saving mine for off-grid living if that time ever came. But every time I looked my husband had one going. I just couldn't say no to him. Good job!
Love this! I've done this years ago, fun but messy. I learned to love newspaper!! Floor n counters. Hung old towel over lower cabinet doors for splatter
It’s my first time watching your show n I love candles too n I wondered how to melt them. Now that I’ve watched your show, you gave me some ideas. Thanks Steph. Love those bowls!
As I was watching the video and couldn't tell if there was going to be enough I was tipping my phone with you and saying come on let there be enough..😂😂😂😂
What a fantastic short cut! I love this’ll...I’ve got a bunch of scentless candles I’m going to try chunking them up and adding a scent to the one I melt.
I've been wanting to try this, making my own using glass food jars after emptied & the leftover end bits of used candles. You're just the inspiration I needed Steph! Just love seeing what you all will do next! 💜
Great job Steph, I thought the wax went over you at first, glad you were ok. Even though you had to clean up, the candles turned out fab. Stay safe love from Wales 🏴💚
Awe he's so sweet on you. You can just tell how much he loves you. Y'all are the sweetest couple. You did a really great job on your candles and you gave me some great ideas. I love watching Y'all ❤
We haven't had this much rain in San Diego for while. I like it . Nice job on those candles - glad you are showing us what you did with all of those broken candles you found.
You know those would make some great gifts for loved ones. I really love how you are all about using everything you find and upcycling it in one way or another.
Great video! SO many candles! Despite the spill, which was horrifying enough, aren't you proud of yourself for making such pretty candles? Great job Steph! ❤🙋♀️👍
Steph...man you opened my eyes..I would of melted it all...omg I'll do it like this for sure...put liquid around hard candles..amazing....loved this video...
LOVE ITTTTTT! Wanted to see more & I def would love to see Steve’s reaction of the spill lol Love u guys, I may not comment often but I watch all your videos. Too bad there’s no dumpster divers here in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 I surely would LOVE to know if there is 😍. Stay safe...blessings
I never would have thought to put the wax cut up in the receptacle before adding the melted wax, wow, great tip!! They look so nice, great job Steph bet your house smells amazing right now! And your spillage secret is safe with me😉 You should have a giveaway and pass on a couple of those beauties before it gets hot outside. Thanks for the great content. Stay safe and be well.
I've never seen this done and had thought about doing it and now you've inspired me to try it out! Great job Steph. I am a clumsy one myself. If I'm not tripping on something, I'm dropping something! lol
Yesss this is a Great Video Good Idea! 💜🕯 Stef These turned out great you could fill stuff you find & resale them as candles Women love 💗 candles I would buy them !
