100%. I’ve been in Hell on Earth. A place in your mind and soul where you have no hope, feel no love, have no purpose. This level of depression I wouldn’t wish on even my worst enemy. Death was a reprieve. I’ve already come to terms with death. Going back to that place, the pit of despair, the dark place with no hope, with no God…. I never, ever want to go back there.

You could choose any religion or spiritual path to put your soul back into alignment with the most high. The feeling that you feel is spiritual deprivation. The other thing needed is knowledge and wisdom. Truth leads to freedom. Hopefully this helped you 🙏🏾.

Heaven is not discussed in the Torah, in order to emphasize the necessity to do what's right because it's right, and not for the reward, or to avoid punishment. - Rabbi Menachem Weiman
@matthayes533
@matthayes533 2 года назад
That is an interesting insight. I like it. But it makes one wonder where they thought Enoch went when he was caught up or where they thought Isaiah was talking about in Isaiah 40:22, or what Solomon was speaking of when he dedicated the temple. I'm guessing the Rabbi did not mean to say heaven wasn't discussed because it clearly is, but rather that it wasn't the specific reward for those who kept the law. And Christians don't believe that either, we don't believe anyone is able to keep the law, that's the whole point of Jesus.
@waitstill7091
@waitstill7091 2 года назад
@@matthayes533 This quote was taken from an AISH article, where the Rabbi gives a Jewish view of Heaven and Hell. Here is another excerpt: "From Jewish tradition, a different viewpoint emerges starting with the fact that there doesn't exist the concept of everlasting damnation and torture. The Almighty's justice is not served by punishing someone forever. Justice means the punishment fits the crime. Since we are finite and our sins are finite, then our punishment or atonement must be finite." The Rabbi said heaven is not discussed in the Torah (First five books of Moses) and he's right. Enoch being taken by God is hardly a discussion on heaven. "24And Enoch walked with God, and he was no longer, for God had taken him." Genesis 5:24 This means the Torah refutes the Christian presuppositions of Heaven, since God never emphasized the necessity to do right on reward of heaven, or fear of hell.

@@waitstill7091 If there is no heaven, where did God take Enoch? We can at least infer that Enoch was removed from Earth and enjoyed a genuinely positive existence elsewhere in God's presence. What is Heaven if not that? To say otherwise is to imply that God killed Enoch for being good. This is not the place for this discussion but I thank you for your wisdom and for sharing the wisdom of this Rabbi. In regards to your comment about hell and the punishment fitting the crime, you are forgetting a key point of crime and punishment. If I lie to you, you can do nothing to me - you have no authority over me, if I lie to my parents they might send me to my room, If I lie to my government or to a judge I might be put in jail. It's the same crime, but the punishment increases based on the level of authority a person has over me. How much greater would the punishment be if I lie to someone who has infinite and perfect authority over me? I wish you well on your journey and pray that God continues to draw you closer to Him. You have the last word, but if you ask a question I will answer out of respect to you.

@@matthayes533 Question: "How much greater would the punishment be if I lie to someone who has infinite and perfect authority over me?" Answer: The Hebrew bible tells us our Creator knows we are good, and capable of improvement. We know He will continue to keep His promises, because He is God and not a man. 27And God created man in His image....31And God saw all that He had made, and behold it was very good... 7Is it not so that if you improve, it will be forgiven you? The end of the video gave me chills. What the actual hell. I'm afraid of hell more-so than death also but have been living in a space like purgatory for years. Hell is another realm which is superimposed onto our own due to choices we make which go against our internalized values, and to get out of the flames you have to follow your moral compass through thick or thin no matter how much suffering it causes you. I've come to think of it as sum of total suffering induced vs just your own. This is what I've come to believe at least. Take care everyone this really triggered some particle of deep set truth in my soul.

Really? Where is your evidence that a 3,000 year old rabbi died on a piece of plywood specifically to ease your guilty conscience? Where is your evidence that this man even existed at all, let alone spontaneously rose from the dead after 3 days, a physically and biologically impossible feat to accomplish. Isn't it a little narcissistic to think that someone did, let alone should have, died so that you could stop fretting about your personal mistakes and you could avoid taking responsibility for your own actions. In what world is it even close to coherent, sane, or just to think that a man, whose existence is dubious anyway, who died in antiquity can magically absolve you and people who think like you of responsibility and consequences for your actions and you and people who think like you can magically transfer your guilt and the consequences of your actions onto this fictional character mentioned in a 3,000 year old book written by barely literate peasents? The idea of "Christ dieing for my sins" is nothing more than shifting the burden abandoning personal responsibility, denying reality, ignoring the truth, and lacking the courage to face the consequences of the actions you took and the decisions you personally made. Christianity, and all religion, is a scam, through and through. It is a sad pathetic little story people cling to in order to avoid the cold, hard reality of life in the world, a fantasy that serves as a mental escape , with no basis in truth whatsoever.

There is no such thing as "sin". It is all part of the great scam of Christianity, and no one need "repent" of an error they did not cause or a wrong they did not commit. Jesus F-ing Christ, stop preaching and droning on about incoherent nonsense from a 3,000 year old fairytale, grow up, and realize that hell is a fictional place, god is a fictional being, and nothing will be lost if you are separated from a fantasy when you die. We only stop sinning as a result of that trust in our hopeless condition. Our repentance is not work but fruit that works. Faith without works is dead. But works without faith is dead too. We listen to Gods commandments because we hate our sin and love God and want to be like him. Repentance is the fruit of trusting in Jesus. Two sides to the same coin. It’s just important to know that your efforts to run from sin don’t save you. Trusting in God saves you. And that helps you run from sin.

Old Testament verses (written before the birth of Jesus Christ) that prove He is God(Trinity) Isaiah 53, Isaiah 42, Daniel 7:13-7:14, Isaiah 41, Isaiah 9, Isaiah 11, Jeremiah 23:5-23:6, Psalm 110 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7Eeo-82Eac8.html the gospel is explained in these verses below 1 Corinthians 6:9-6:11, James 4:6-4:7, Matthew 5-7, Matthew 7:21-7:27, Matthew 13, John 3:19, Jeremiah 29:13 the first set of verses i put from The Old Testament talk about His death on the cross and payment for sins(Isaiah 53), a person who appeared as a “Son of Man” (which is what Jesus Christ calls Himself) who was led to God during judgment and everyone worshipped Him (Daniel 7:13-7:14), psalm 110:1 says “The Lord said to my lord”- meaning there are two separate lords-- David wrote this Psalm; his lord was God The Father because it was during The Old Covenant and “The Lord” is Jesus Christ, Isaiah 42:6 says that Jesus Christ will be a covenant and a light for the gentiles(non jews), all the other verses i put down continue to make it so clear that this is the truth and continue to speak directly about Jesus Christ that it is very obvious. Sadly most people have not read The Bible and have been led astray by false teachers that misquote John 3:16 to make people think you can live however you want and never use the context of the verses (John 3:19) or people get their Biblical knowledge from mega churches that are basically just motivational speakers. The link I put down is further proof which proves who the people that run the world are. They are literal satanist--they worship an entity named lucifer and this name is only found in The Bible. The only religion they are against is Christianity. Throughout The Bible the devil is called the ruler of the world- he rules through the flesh(the sinful ways of the world) and God rules through The Spirit. the devil is called the morning star in The Bible, so is Jesus Christ. I believe this is because their is a false light and true light. illuminati- “illuminate” satan tempted eve with the fruit- then their eyes were open to good and evil- he shed light on what was evil and led humanity astray- he corrupted mankind from the beginning (morning) also on the dollar bill it has the eye emanating light and under the eye in latin it says “new order of the ages”-- it also says “in God we trust”- this is not the true God but the “god of this world” as The Bible states Jesus Christ is the true light. He was from the very beginning and created the New Covenant (morning star) He is the true light because He teaches righteousness and the way to Heaven, while satan deceives and teaches people how to fulfill their sinful desires and paves their way to hell to retaliate against God The verses at the bottom are some of the most important and helpful ways to understand The Gospel and to not be deceived by false teachers. The Gospel is based upon belief, trust, and obedience. Matthew 13 is the parable of the sower, John 14-15 Jesus Christ talks about the spiritual growth that happens to those who trust and rely on Him, Matthew 7:21-7:27 proves that it is not just belief alone, James 4:6-4:7 talks about resisting evil and turning to God, Jeremiah 29:13 says that once you seek God wholeheartedly He will reveal Himself to you

When he said he was always reminded of the finitude of life when he was younger but also at this very moment, that struck me because that's similar to my life and I'm just 30. From age of 20 I feel chased by time, and I feel very guilty and ashamed when I have unproductive days. I'm way too conscious about my short life on Earth than I would like to, to the point of obsessively planning too ambitious goals in advance but still worrying execcssively about my future with every step i take. This created so much anxiety and perfectionism resulting in inaction. As a philosopher I think too much abstractly and do too little practically. In the last 12 months i have been thinking a lot about ways to extend human life and i can't seem to let it rest. I desperately want to leave a mark on this Earth before I go but can't figure out how exactly. It's probably not healthy but this is just how i am. I’ll give you all a piece of advice before you go down all the wrong directions although step by step is a good idea. Christ died not only for all of our sins but also so afterward he can be within us guide us. The more you go against you “gut” the further you get away from that guidance the direction that God wants to take you in life. If you live your life always seeking knowledge you will never have peace you will always keep learning, there’s no end it’s a continuing circle of which there truly is no end. But the fact is Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Once you come to know him you learn about peace ! You learn about truth! Listen jordan Peterson didn’t just name Jesus for no reason there’s only one group of people that believe Jesus died for our sins and is the only begotten son the prophesied messiah and every other religion has a spin on that. I’m here to tell you it isn’t a coincidence. The evidence of his death AND resurrection from both his ENEMIES AND FRIENDS during his time on earth look it up any professor will tell it better than I. I watch movies. It is getting harder and harder to watch. In order to make a movie happen, the author has to force me to suspend my disbelief. I realized just how dangerous this was a long time ago. I was watching "Pirates of the Caribbean". My second viewing of it with friends for some reason triggered me. Jack and his Sparring partner were walking along the bottom of the ocean with a boat tipped on their head. I was into it. "O that's a good idea". I graduated in Mechanical Engineering. I had to study hydrodynamics. I had to study fluid dynamics. I have a solid background in WHY DO BOATS FLOAT!. I was accepting two characters walking with a boat over their heads with air to the GUNNELS. I had two people smarter than me on the couch. I turned to them and said "Apparently that boat never floated!" "What do you mean!" "Why do boats float?!" They were also taken in. A little tiny thing like that worms its way into your brain and you accept it as true. SMART people accept these things. Only later, maybe, you discover that fallacious concept and get rid of it. It is a slippery thing. But then we have the story of Pinnochio and the Whale. ... And I have to stop and not be so cynical. Somewhere between surviving being eaten by a whale and using an upturned boat as an Air Supply lies a line. WHERE IS THE LINE? I don't have an answer. People can be cruel to an extreme. At the same time, the most evil tyrant can take pity on anyone. How do we balance the perception? Never completely turn off your brain.

Les lyrical, but more accurate. Translating it as "battle not" makes it a direct advice not to engage in the battle in the first place. That's quite a significant difference from the actual quote, which doesn't advice to not engage in the battle nor does it state the becoming of a monster as a certainty. Granted, I am missing the larger context of the quote, but it seemed significant enough to point out.

I used to be. once you find love and understanding, hell becomes more of a choice we are making all the time... he's focused on hell. so his life is going that direction. at the end he will recognize he's been doing so. He sort of feels it now. as I see it at this point, hell is something your going to take with you into the heavenly realm. everything is available, but what have we learned to work with? power and fear? they do not serve in the angelic realms. they are a misunderstanding of how we should operate. personally im so glad I was taught how to connect to positive emotions and reconnect with source. it's gonna be ok. do the best you can. "worry profits man nothing" were gonna be much happier when we work out some of this excess guilt and fear. it's enough to start doing the right thing with an open heart. JP is a very sincere guy and I like him. don't always agree with him for sure. but he's a good guy.

I once listened to a sermon about probably the best known piece in the Bible. Psalm 23. The minister referred to the part "walking through the valley of the shadow of death". The same as we should fear a lion and not the lion's shadow, death through Christ's salvation became a mere shadow and not something to fear any more. Christ (read Trinity) was human enduring temptations and other earthly challenges we all endure - He sits at God's Right Hand right now and as we live our lives of sin and imperfection He has first hand experience (about being human) and plead with God to forgive us. And God do that and that is why we should not have fear of hell (death) as Christ was there to salvage those souls who were there prior to Jesus's death and resurrection. What we should do (I totally suck at that!!) is to be the best person we could possibly be every day of our lives and be thankful to The Salvation.

"Haven't looked long enough" touches on the doctrine of common grace. It's not merely that the human is able-in gazing at the abyss-to find those things that *are* light, hopeful, redeeming, etc. It's that the human is able, through that suffering (not that it only happens in suffering, honestly) to be moved by God to see light. And "more afraid of hell than death" is the right instinct. And hell and death do overlap with the world we live in, but not entirely. Not by a longshot, to use a Jordan-ism.

Thinking too much about death like Jordan P. claims to do is like a kind of hell in itself that maybe played a role in his temporary downfall. Overthinking your mortality gets in the way of living your life in my opinion and using it as a method for work motivation is dangerous and can lead to weird paths. That being said not considering your limited time at all could lead into hell too so its a balancing act like most things in life.

Peterson mentioned in his recent podcast with Helen Joyce that the number of people who turn to religion as a result of their awe of the beauty and wonder of life is not as large as the number of people who turn to religion as a result of a confrontation with what seems demonic, satanic or simply evil. I found that interesting, because the latter was also the case for me. I don't quite ascribe to any particular religion or dogma, but I am starting to practice some kind of faith or belief in a God. There is something out there in the world so evil that it feels like the devil is real - and if he is, then his opposite must also be real. I know that isn't a very deep or sophisticated idea, and I would never claim that that is any proof of God's existence. But it's the reason why I feel compelled to believe in a God. Peterson has changed my views on so many things. Love him

5:02 Okay maybe I'm wrong, Jordan is having a very difficult time shaking his natural, scientific mind when it comes to understanding God and His will. The true meaning of the Cross is the sacrifice that Christ made for our salvation not a comfort with physical death though that is certainly a part of being one in Christ. The consonant atheist will have no understanding of such things because they have turned their back on God so God returned the favor just like He said He would do in the Bible. The first part of the Bible I would direct any atheist to, would be fulfilled Biblical prophecy. You simply cannot reasonably quantify that measure of coincidence not even an atheist. At least not one with so much as a micron of wisdom.
@cambo6911
@cambo6911 2 года назад
5:20 Okay, I think it's clear to see at this point in time that Jordan has about half of it right. I would Point any academic intellectual to Pastor Derek Prince, he was a highly awarded University professor in the UK specializing in many fields one of which was philosophy. His desire for the truth and ability to exalt that which he did not know over what he did know led him to Christ. In my very humble opinion Derek Prince was one of the greatest Ministers of Christ this era would ever know as is Chuck Missler, Carter Conlon, and John MacArthur. Derek was finally able to unteach himself of the fruitless nonsense derived from the universities and be touched by the truth, he that is Jesus Christ.

Hell was always a fear of mine, but in my mind everything that revolves around hell and God gets so complex and intense sometimes that I just wish I never existed. I fear that I'll never be good enough for heaven I fear that people that I love and care so much about might eventually end up there and there's nothing I can do I fear my actions might send me to hell I fear I have to be perfect in God's eyes so he won't send me to hell I sometimes think that if God wouldn't exist life would be so much enjoyable because I wouldn't have to suppress my emotions anymore, and just try to live the best life I can without worrying that one day I'll face a terrible judgment But also there's moments when I feel in my heart so deeply that God exists and he cares for me, and when I see how evil this world is I wish there's a greater power that will eventually bring justice to this world What I've written here is just a couple thoughts that I always wished sharing with someone but never had the opportunity For the religious ppl that might read this I want you to know that I love God with all my heart, but If right now I had the chance to completely eradicate my existence (body and soul) I would do it with no hesitation

To the "devote" christians I would say this, I'm more afraid of never living up to my potential in a fulfilled life here than hell. I'm more afraid of never reaching my goals and aspirations than hell. I'm more afraid of not being true to myself as a transgender woman and not allowing myself to manifest that than hell. No matter what your god says I'm more afraid of not being happy and feeling like my best self here than I am of hell because although you may think hell worse than anything that could be experienced here I've known a greater pain a feeling of total spiritual despair of wanting to die of feeling wronged beyond repair of being tortured and tormented psychologically and emotionally of wanting to self destruct but then using my own willpower all on my own to pull myself out on just mere principal of not wanting to die quietly. Nothing not even eternal punishment in hell will ever measure up to the pain I've felt in my heart when it was ripped out of my chest and all my hopes and the light at the end of the tunnel silenced because I realized even your so called "merciful" god the one I should've been able to count on no matter how dark and grim the outlook of my life became was nothing more than a sadist if he couldn't look past minor imperfections that are outside of my own control and despite any good altruistic acts of kindness that I do here it will never be enough for him because I'm not "normal" I don't "fit in" with his cookie cutter people and for that I put him on trial, for that I hold him accountable, for that I cannot forgive him. Threatening me with eternal hell won't be much of a difference of what I've already experienced most of my life and yet despite all of that I do good on principal, I don't despair on principal, I continue to pursue and rise above challenges on principal of proving to him I don't need his petty approval, I can do great works in my own name without his help that was never even there to begin with, I can pick and chose which parts of his word I agree with and which parts I don't, I can be my own god and I can inspire others to join me in being truly free of his spiritual tyranny. I'm a good person who values life on this earth despite the fact that I'm an outcast that is already more impressive than anything he ever did and me being a trans woman does not make me a bad person even if he says I'm an abomination that disgusts him. He disgusts me, how about them apples? I'm a hero compared to him and he is an obvious villain and I will do everything my power to portray him as such to the world in order to save it, that is my promise, that is my declaration, that is my resolve, that is my curse, and that is my gift to the world.
