I remember watching video of the siege of Sarajevo on the TV, filmed from the Serbian positions by news agencies. The people were very mixed and held. Out for being multicultural and were very brave. Out of the whole of that war this city was some kind of hope for the future even though they had such a hard time. It was not just that they were bombed there were snipers in the hills that would shoot young people in the streets, some of them were the cities protectors, which was heartbreaking. It was very well covered in the news. Terrible that we still have learned nothing and such wars are still going on. So glad for the good verdict for Craig. Looking forward to the content coming next. I too missed Vanuary, but it is nice to see you regularly now.
Lovely new vlog 💛 now that Craig is back with you, if you haven't come across it yet I read Black Butterflies earlier this year about the war. It's about the seige and a woman separated from and stuck without her partner... so I didn't comment on it in your last video 😉 looking forward to more! X
Hi Louise - I have read Black Butterflies ! I thought it was really good and really helped me understand the seige. I'd like to read more fiction set in the Balkans!
The key not working would send my anxiety through the roof! You did it though-by yourself in a foreign country! I’ve only done that once and at least I knew the language.
I was trying not to panic about it! I was scared to take the dogs on their last walk before bed as the area around the apartment was a little creepy at night. But luckily it was all ok! Which country were you in?
@@hollyexley@hollyexley I'm in the USA, so it's harder and more expensive to get to other countries, so I went to Guatemala on my own because it was cheap. People were nice and accepting of my poor Spanish.
