He was more rich in spirit & humanity than most people could ever hope to be.

I cried so hard at this.. Nobody should ever have to live on the street and go hungry. Nobody should ever have to die alone..RIP Ron

First time I saw this video it made my cry… I searched the comment section to see if anyone had found him and set up a go fund me… then I learned he died homeless and it crippled me. This man done his best clearly. Just needed help and the system let him down. Rip to a man who just needed a second chance. 😔

i’m so heartbroken by this finding out he passed away. i was hoping he was doing well and is getting so much support. he still is getting lots of love when resting. i’m sorry that his life was tough trying to find a way to live. May you rest in peace Ronald Davis.

This video has been and will continue to be used in my Peace Studies class to explain the importance of caring for those less fortunate. Here is something else they learn, perhaps some of you that read this should too - "You will be judged by whomever you believe does so by what you are willing to do for other people; without discriminating against who, and without expectation of anything in return." I just saw this video for the first time! 12/24/21 I had tears rolling down my cheeks watching it! I went straight to the comments to try and find him and help him anyway I could! I hated reading of his passing! REST IN PEACE MY brother! I am a 100% disabled veteran from Arkansas on a limited income and I was hoping to find out where he was nowadays and if his situation was better or not! If not I was going to find him, get him a phone, off the streets if I had to bring him home with me to Arkansas, help him find a job and help him get himself back on his feet! You can tell he was a good person with a good soul! I’m a 53 year old white man from the south by the way! Doesn’t matter one bit! We’re ALL Americans in this together! If you see my comment, no matter where you live, what race you are, or how wealthy or poor you are, please remember his words and try your best to be the best human being you can!

Once when i was on a trip in first grade i saw a homeless man and tbh im always been really caring about others even always helping flies so they can go out. Anyways i gave the man 15 bucks wich my mom gave me for buying food and i couldn't eat in the whole day and i knew that and the smile in the mans face was priceless. It was 8 years ago but i remember it like yesterday.

I remember a couple of weeks ago a homeless man walked up to me and my friends. I didn’t have any cash in my wallet to give him but my two friends both gave him at least a few bucks. Really gives you perspective.

A friend of mine posted this on fb and it touched my heart. For years I have been trying to open a homeless shelter. I will have it one day. Listening to this man has made me push harder. May he R.I.P💕😭

Man u can tell Ron Davis was jus a genuine dude before and the world jus chewed him up and spat him out man its so sad😞 i wish i couldve been there for him i really do but there is many more of him and im going to do my best to help those in need, easier said than done but its a change that has to happen

It hurts to know this man passed away alone. I’m crying right now after watching this video. He seems like such a genuine man who cared a lot about himself and the rest of humanity. It always breaks my heart seeing homeless people because i know that they’re not all drug addicts like most stereotypes lead people to believe. Some people just hit a really hard point in their life and unfortunately have no friends or family to turn to when they need help. This man is the golden standard for homeless people. I wish I could just go give a hug to him and let him know that everything will be alright…. But unfortunately it wasn’t alright for him:((

I so badly want to hug him n help release his pain. Our beautiful lord and the angels has taken that soul to provide n freely give what earthlings refused. What a spectacular grand home he now has, being showering with gifts of blessings. No longer ever alone. No longer invisible. No longer hungry or cold. No longer. Just breaks my heart for these humans to be discarded and overlooked or victimized. If I had a company, I wld hire n help every single person I cld. They would (vastly by the mass) show up at work and be solid n dependable. But I am just the average gal that does with what I can and see. I don’t care how good you’ve got it we are all one tragedy away from being a “bum.” No one is immune to accidents, trauma, addiction or the high costs of healthcare. Hell, one unexpected diagnosis in the US could throw a millionaire into bankruptcy, I see it in my profession at least monthly. No one is too high they can’t be brought down to their knees. Shame on the fool who cursed this man.

It's so bad here in Portland 😭for so many homeless.... my own mom has mental illness & is homeless here,also my sister became homeless & died in Portland 6 years ago from a heroin overdose at 31 years old.Recently my husband & I bought a Van and converted it.. it has a toilet and a sink. We presented it to my homeless mom on the 4th of July which is Independence day.. her independence day. . bc I cry 😢 & I didn't want her to die out there in a derelict car on the side of the road. I am very tramatized by alot that has happened during my life.. but the van helped HER & ME get some PEACE ,bc mom regardless of who she is ,would have dignity and be safe. she has my sister's cremains in the van w her, it's very sad😓. But,She can get around now & be safe. My son wired a loud speaker & even a siren on the van! B4 she had tried to get police help & they seldom come ..but now she can scare people off w her siren..oh,did I mention she has a light too? Recently, I asked my husband what will others do..who have no one to help them?? Well ,we know they will just die.. Portland is cold in winter & very wet..so many will die.People feel overwhelmed in Portland and are turning a blind eye to homelessness. What can they do! They feel frustrated ! They even protested to our mayor last winter after a homeless woman was found holding a dead baby 😢 the community had a mock funeral and the mayor had the police come. What about the laws? Well, they changed in Portland over the years..There is no forced mental illness treatment or drug treatment here. They won't allow a brand new built jail (that was never used)to house homeless & give them services.. the city thinks it's not a good idea.& Things spin out of control even down to the children born to these folks...DHS has nowhere to put children.. we send them out of state. I myself was homeless as a teen in 1997-98..my son was born March 98 ( &I kept him👣💗) I myself know what it's like being homeless. BUT I would not want to be homeless in 2020! It's worse! things did not improve.it was life threatening then.. it's sure death now. My son recently biked near downtown. A homeless man & him talked( my kids do that they know I used to be homeless).. the man told my son 10 folks o.d./ die every night. (It's got to be more than that)The man had a college degree ,but suffered addiction thus couldn't get out. But there are many reasons.. When I was homeless I was not a drug addict, I was 15 w no where to go. my mom had mental illness & drug addiction & after grandma died,we had no where to go & I was left in my own. You never know WHY someone is homeless... THEY ARE NOT A BUM..THEY ARE A HUMAN,SOMEONES CHILD.I would sleep on the streets & put on free makeup samples from Nordstrom & steal cloths, so no one would know I was homeless.I got out,my pregnancy pushed me to seek help. I'm still in Portland area & married now for 20 years ..w three adult children.today, Try to have mercy on your neighbor. If u have a family member or a person in your community in this circumstance make a PLAN to help them.. adleast you tried ur conscience can rest ...know your help that might be the only help that person truly will ever get. some people need a hand up ..not a hand out, bc they are so beat down mentally, they need you to see value in them as a human being.

The fact that not a lot of people never helped him or gave him 20-30$ so he can Atleast get a room and be safe, he would not have been dead but people call him a bum but he believed himself, but he just couldn’t make it, R.I.P Ron Davis.

Reports say he died on the train or he was attacked by two people on a park bench the camera man who the shit video didn’t help much neither and only 200 dollars from the fundraiser was given the rest stolen. How can they people live with themselves. How could they?
