People always say that snowy woods are beautiful and peaceful. As someone who lives basically in the middle of snowy woods, they most certainly are not and are more like this. Pure horror.

The scariest part about this video is the fact that you can see your feet. That, and the shield just chilling in your hotbar.

I love how accurate this appears to the myths. IIRC, the closer you hear the wendigo the farther it is, and the farther you hear it the closer it is. It does this so you end up running TO it instead of away. They are smart no matter what version of the myth you consult, and are known to use phycological tactics while hunting. All of the noises they use while stalking you are to invoke paranoia, and they'll even mimic your loved ones to try and manipulate you. Very scary mod, very well done.

just stumbled upon this video and started watching, but reaaally wanna mention how it captures that lonely and isolated feeling that made minecraft scary in the early versions. plus the sounds!!!! the freaking crows!!! it adds so much atmosphere, i love it. the sounds of howling, the snow steps... so relaxing yet so unnerving at the same time!!(kinda contradictory i know ahah! but it just feels natural but you understand there's danger lurking somewhere out there ..!) also i like how laid back and chill you are, no over editing, no flashy stuff, no annoying colourful subtitles(i mean not attacking anyone who uses that, its simply not my cup of tea lol). just a chill horror mod Minecraft letsplay like back in the days. you're cool!! not only because it's cold and stuff(...badum tss? ah yeah I'll find the door myself..) anyways yes love this video already!! and the calm demeanor too!:D super refreshing to see. ok now I'll continue watching ahah

finally, a modern horror minecraft mod done well that somehow still maintained the simple desolate feel which made classic minecraft unnerving 😅

So you can tell when its coming by the effects you are given. The countdown on the effects shows when the wendigo will arrive, along with the phase you are in. Thank you for opening me up to this mod, its really fun!

This guy is literaly the first one to die in a horror movie, makes all the conveniently bad decisions, just hide.

An interesting new dweller-esque creature idea is actually the "Manananggal" aswang from the Philippines and a new one that actually flies instead of sprinting towards you. It's a kind of gory vampire that is disattached to its lower half and feeds off unborn fetuses, an also cool mechanic that is actually a sign of it is that when you hear a loud flapping noise coming towards you and gradually fades away, it means it close, so when you thought it's going away from it, in reality it's gonna be after you. Like how you said that the wendigo might be on the left when it's making a sound to the right. This is one will be a cool addition to that idea of misdirection!

I kinda want a horror mod that is biome-based. Nothing that seems out of the ordinary, but a biome might have a chance to be haunted by a boss monster. It gives you a chance to move when things get too spooky. However, once the monster is dead or banished, it's a safe biome again.

Now I am inspired to make a watch tower in the middle of a snowy taiga forest, sounds cozy..

little tip, on lookout towers like the one you built, the stairs are supposed to go on the little outside area instead of indoors. this way it wastes less living space on the inside

apparently according to some urban legends ive heard before the closer the Wendigo sounds the farther it is away and the further it sounds the closer it is. so technically it could kind of explain why you heard the noise away from where the Wendigo was

shame it got stuck in the tree on the final encounter but we are 2 for 3 on the pixel death counter to the wendigo so plus for that. in our next mod we will defiantly be adding a feature to remove the vanilla hostile mobs as it takes away from the horror experience.

you should make a skinwalker type mod like a creature that either wears the skins of animals or it turns into them like a sheep that looks off likè with blood on it

One flaw of this is that the stairs lead into the towers room, normally the stair are on the outside of the room for the person who is staying in the tower.

What other mods are you using? Like that First Person is sooo good
