Javonne you have to come back and spend some real time in NY. New York is a great place to visit, but definitely not for the faint of hearts. It’s a fast pace city where people are always on the go. Although some of us are a little rough around the edges, we do say “please and thank you!” The food, rich culture and the people are what makes New York, NY. ❤

I live in NY and it can be overwhelming. Especially, if you’re not used to the fast pace.

NYC is def busy. But the cab driver wasn’t lying the street is usually busy and backed up. New York to me is just a place to visit not to stay. Like to go shopping and eating. That’s what New York is for. I was born there, but so glad we moved to North Carolina because I hate how busy it is. I am definitely a country girl.

As a New Yorker born and raised imma tell ya the cab driver was running up that meter in y'all.

if you not from new york you dont know the hustles and flow of things but you also have to keep your eyees open at all times but nye is still and always will be the shit please do come back don't give up nyc is beautiful 😊

Yes New York is VERYYYY hectic for someone who’s not from there.

Being on guard at all times in NYC, the crowds, the chaos can overwhelm or excite...a lot especially after traveling that day and trying to maneuver on your own in 3 hours-- scammers know immediately your tourists. Sorry you have that feeling about nyc...if you visit again w more time and a trusted ,organized tour it may be more relaxing..the restaurant, shopping is right up your alley.Glad you had a great cruise. Yea living In NY is crazy them yellow cabs like to take the streets over the expressway because your ride is on a meter so the longer your in cab the more money

That’s why I take black cabs in nyc or the subway. Those yellow cabs will take the longest way possible to charge u more

Worked in Manhattan for 2 years. Definitely fast paced. Cleveland did the right thing asking him where he going … they will take you on a detour and rack up the mileage. He saw you coming with that cruise luggage! Gurrrlllll they all saw you coming! Great place to work and make that big money … but too expensive to live there!

Always fly into Newark International airport (Newark, NJ). Less stress than any NY airports, and more airlines and flights to Orlando. NY Marathon was this past Sunday, everything is shut down for that here.

NY is not for me. I went 2x with my EX because that's where he's from. I told my friend that I can go the rest of my life and NEVER go back to NY. People look at you like you crazy if you just smile at them. I'm from North Carolina so southern hospitality is all we know. I lived in Delaware also. I now live in Jacksonville FL. I will stay my butt in the south.

My daughter and I just took the train all over NYC. The food was good and delicious at the restaurant we ate at!

I lived in Brooklyn, New York for 63 years, after I retired, it was time to go, best choice I ever made, love & miss New York, miss my church ( stream on RU-vid live,my family & friends, tremendously,, I just didn’t want to live there anymore , I need peace & quiet, now I can hear myself think 😊the congestion, the rudeness , the thank you to some folks are not an option! Flew Spirit ✈️ once a few years ago and never stepped foot on it again. I spent a whole week in New York and Time Square was definitely not the highlight of my trip, so I understand how you feel Sis. It is so much more there to see and do. You need more time and more planning.

Blessings and hope that eye gets better quickly without any reoccurrences. I had a similar occurrence and it was an allergy issue where drops had to be prescribed. Cold compression worked quickly when I had flare ups.

Jersey girl currently living in VA. Sorry you had that experience in NYC. I think you would enjoy more a weekend trip during Christmas time. Plan it out and do Rockefeller Center, see the big tree, ice skate, shopping at the stores all decorated. Stay in a nice room super high up with a great view of the city. You might be better off flying into Newark (NJ) and taking the train in. It’s been a minute but I believe you can get the NJ Transit train from the airport. You have to do like the airport tram thing to the NJ transit train and it will take you to Penn Station. Penn Station will have you right there basically in Times Square. Sounds complicated but it’s really not. It’s been a minute for me so please research this first or others hopefully will comment if the trains still run like that. And the only other tips i have are always wear comfortable shoes and get a good sandwich or gyro at the food carts/trucks. Don’t knock it till you’ve had it lol. This is from memory, I’m sure the comments will correct whatever may have changed over the years. God bless 🙏🏽

The reason why all the roads were blocked was because they were having a marathon lol the New York people are something else ! That’s all I’m goin to say 😂
